I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book is sure to set your taste buds tingling and mouth watering!
What an amazing recipie book packed full of tantalising foods to try smoke shop style!
I've never even thought of half of the ideas in this book and cannot wait to try some of them this summer.
I loved how the cooks were introduced at the beginning of the book and also the tips at the back of the book too.

My son is a professional barbecue chef so I got this book for him to add to his resource library. It's a great book if you are not a professional as the directions are easy to follow and there are lovely pictures to illustrate it. Who better to learn from a Pittmaster?
The book is broken down in sections. There are chapters on The Backyard BBQ, The Cocktail Party, Taco Tuesday, The Big Brunch, The Fancy Party, Tailgate and The Holiday Party. Almost any kind of entertaining you want to do is covered. There are lots of drink recipes too. The end has sections on Smoke Shop Basics and Ingredients which was very helpful.
My son made me the Glazed Peaches which was to die for. There is one for chocolate bourbon truffles that makes my mouth water and a street corn that is a great addition for Taco Tuesday. This book is thorough and has a wide variety of recipes. It's good for the home cook and the the home barbecue chef. I highly recommend it.

    ❀ EXTENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS

What is most useful in this book is the layout of the recipes. The authors have given extensive instructions on how to prepare and cook the meals, as well as describe the equipment needed. It is an easy to follow cookbook that also has gorgeous images and some wonderful commentary. Those familiar with the Boston restaurant the authors own will enjoy getting a little backstory from the pitmasters themselves.

There are quite a few recipes that I am excited to try this spring, including Beef Prime Rib au Jus. The accompanying sides, desserts and cocktails also make it easy to pull any party off with ease. I did give the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Bacon and Asparagus a try, as it was something I could create in my oven. I did lighten it up a little bit by omitting some of the fat content and I used bread crumbs instead of saltines for the top. It was definitely a hit at my house and a nice change to traditional mac and cheese.

If you are a fan of the grill and smoked meats, The Smoke Shop’s Backyard BBQ is one cookbook to watch for. It has just about everything you will ever need to know about perfecting your grilling game.

This was a fun cookbook. It had a variety of sections, such as he backyard bbq, cocktail party, taco tuesday, big brunch, fancy party, and holiday party and a bunch of interesting recipes. There was also quite a few recipes I would love to try, such as smoked Oysters on the Half Shell. The book also has some amazing photos, which made it even more fun.

The Smoke Shop's Backyard BBQ by Andy Husbands is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early December.

Bedazzled by bold, timetable-like font choices delineated by black & red underscores, accent marks, circles, and boxes, this is some humble bragging, good time second-person narration that goes straight into recipes for meats and matching sauces, snacks, sides, drinks, and desserts. There's photos with wood cutting boards, slate table surface, steel utensils, and messy yet realistically human presentation, but no real rhyme or reason as to the order of the recipes, outside of the occasion that a set of them could be used for. On the other hand, I’m pleased by the many directions that a bbq-style dish can be taken, particularly into Mexican food, breakfast/brunch, a ‘BLT bar,’ and fried rice.

I was so happy to receive an ARC of this cookbook. I am always looking for new BBQ recipes because we use our grill and smoker ALL the time. The pictures were amazing and all the recipes were easy to follow with easy to come by ingredients. My favorite were the Taco Tuesday ones! Such a great book!

Given that I don't own a smoker or even live somewhere I could any time soon, this isn't the most practical cookbook for me. But I've been to The Smoke Shop, and this book made me hungry/want to go back. It was well-written and well-organized.

Overall this book had some decent recipes and interesting ideas but no major breakthroughs. I do like how the book is divided based on the occasion your cooking for.
