*An eARC of this book was provided to me by the author. I was under no obligation to read or share my feelings*
Oh boy did I attack this book!
After devouring The Hunt in just about a day. I dove head first into this sequel. Which will be released on Amazon on Jan 31st. I was not disappointed. I shared in my review of the previous novel that my overall review of this series will depend on how the author carries through on all the information that is getting set up. Now, this series is still ongoing at this point and I can't say that everything is concluded yet, but there is so much added in this book and it only made me more excited to see what is happening with our girl Maeleigh.
I want to keep this review spoiler free since the book isn't even out yet, but man, its hard! Because I just want to gush over how much I LOVE these characters. Maeleigh is fierce and smart. Gearden is protective but not a jerk. Brianna is a wonderful friend and beta. Ro is sweet and protective.
And the PACK!! I love found family dynamics, and what better way to have that then a Wolf Pack?
I also really enjoyed how the relationship was progressing. How even though there are these pressures and animal instincts at play I never felt like those were an excuse for things to move too quickly. Gearden and Maeleigh for that matter, have their wolves pulling on them but its still their choice how things progress. I really felt their connection and I love the quiet intimate moments.
The world building continues in this second installment and there are a LOT of new things and mythologies get mixed and reimagined. There are a lot more POV's this time and that did get a little overwhelming at times but it was all information we needed to have. I think it mostly was frustrating because this book was so good and I saw the pages I was ripping through and I wanted more time with Maeleigh and Gearden.
The signing is a part of the story that is so intriguing to me as well and I really appreciate that the author is always aware of when Maeleigh can see it and when she needs an interpreter. Its never forgotten for convenience sake as I have seen in other novels who try to be diverse but don't commit. It makes this story so unique.
One of the only things that was hard for me was all the different races of creatures involved in this one. I feel like the first novel was slow to introduce us and I felt a bit dumped on in this one. Which I know if how our characters feel too, just wanted to mention it.
Overall, I really love this installment and I am more firmly believing that this will be a fabulous series as a whole when it is done. I am so happy this is a self-published series and we will get the 3rd book by Spring 2020!!!
This was a 4.5/5 stars for me. -
Really, really enjoyed the next installment in this series. I found to have liked this one even more than the first one. I love that this book focuses a LOT on the relationship between our main characters and I love how much we start to learn about the different paranormals that exist in this world. The only thing that concerned me in this book was when Gearden wasn't in control of his wolf. I really thought consent was going to be an issue in this book. Luckily it didn't play out that way but it still bothered me enough to make it lose a star for me. Will still definitely be continuing on with this series!

The chase
This is a good series I like the story plot n now the characters grow n come to life. I can't wait for the next book in series. It holds your attention and makes you root for the main characters -
Wow! Talk about major action and more depth to the story!! Am loving where this is going. It's PG-13 y'all, so you can share it with your teens. ;-D Normally when I read about shifters or anything paranormal, it's hot and heavy (which I LOVE); but this is good too! The story is just getting too good that I read it in about a day and into the next day. Ha! On to the next! #HappyReading ♥

I loved it
I can't wait to read book 3. I couldn't put this one down. I loved the characters and the storyline. -
Circling
Maeliegh Is deaf, but still listening. Gearden is her mate, made to protect her. Who does he protect when Maeliegh can protect herself. Enemies circling just waiting to destroy both of them. Will they be enough to defend against so many fronts. -
The Hunt, book one in this series, was by no means a slow read. It was interesting and full of revealed secrets, tense action and the bonding one often finds in shifter/paranormal stories.
The Chase took all of that and - quite literally, in Maeleigh's case - ran with it.
Keeping things as spoiler-free as possible, if you enjoyed the first book, if you eagerly awaited Maeleigh learning more about this mixed heritage of hers and what it might mean for her role in the pack, you will not be disappointed.
While Maeleigh struggles with the betrayal she still feels from her father, she finds herself nestled comfortably in the family unit presented by the Pack. Despite new and unknown powers coming to the surface, she is never made to feel unwelcome or discouraged by these developments. Instead, the supernaturals come together to delve further into the fae prophecy so they can protect themselves and their family from the dangers ahead. And all the while, her and Gearden desperately try to slow the pull they feel for one another, much to agitation of their baser natures.
This was a thoroughly entertaining read, even moreso than the first book. I'm interested to see what fallout arises from the events we were left with. Now on to Book 3!
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. -
Excellant series!!
I found this book series because it was a recommendation by Amazon and I was not disappointed. You get sucked in and the next thing you know 4 hours have past by. You must start with with book one and there is a bit of a cliffhanger but you know what, the best books do lol. I hope book 3 comes out soon but take as much time as it takes to make it as good as the past 2,just hopefully not 15 years lol🤣. I highly recommend this series if you like shifters, druids, vampires and fae stories with a YA twist. If this is your first series, I think that we see many wonderful stories in the future. I first read this on kindle unlimited but is going to be making its way into my kindle library soon -
Chase
The chase continues as we learn more about the prophecy as she's She is druid and wolf and so much more . Looking forward to book 3 -
Thumbs up
I'm on the fence. It's a great story. I love the characters but its definitely different from what I'm used to. Still a good read. -
The Chase is book 2 in The Hunt series. If you have not read book 1 please go do so before continuing. It's been weeks after the shocking revelation at the end of The Hunt and Maeleigh has not spoken to her parents since. Her dad still tries to make contact but she wants nothing to do with him at the moment. She cannot handle his betrayal right now. She's comfortably living with Geardon and his family and she's slowly starting to feel like part of the family there. Geardon's mom treats her as if she was her own kid and Maeleigh loves and adores Geardon's little sister.
After discovering that not only is she a druid but a wolf as well. She slowly starts to doubt it because she's never felt her wolf or has had any connection to it. But with all that she has learned she has no reason not to believe. Geardon on the other hand is having trouble keeping his wolf in line. Ever since he found out she's his mate, his wolf has been itching to complete the mating bond. But where Maeleigh doesn't understand this world and what it would mean to complete it, Geardon gave her an option told her to take her time deciding. Unfortunately for him, his wolf has a hard time accepting that and keeps pushing him to loose his temper or have his wolf take over and that could be dangerous.
The Chase definitely has developed more since the Hunt. Alainna has thrown numerous plot twists throughout this book that had me on the edge of my seat not knowing what would happen next. Mae is still stronger that ever and her friendship to Brianna is a beautiful one at that. You can tell she generally cares about Mae because she goes out of her way to learn sign language so she can communicate better with her without struggling. I can't wait to see what she has in store for The Kill. -
Maeleigh was rescued from being kidnapped and is living with Gearden and his family as she acclimates to her new life in a Pack. She has new supernatural powers making themselves known in unexpected and dangerous ways.
I really enjoyed reading about the dynamic within the wolf pack, and how they all respected each other and their ranks. I like how Liam is a second father to her as she struggles in her relationship with her own father.
I noticed a few spelling and grammar mistakes that took me out of the story a bit, but I enjoy all the plotlines running through the story. It isn't a simple story line, there are many mysterious things at play! -
Mmm..it’s genuinely a great book. It’s just, the last series I had just read made me crave more of that intense action. I’ve learned that each book has its own main events instead of action here and there though. Well, I’m off to read the third book. :)

More of a 2.5 than a 3 but I felt harsh putting two. I had connected with the characters story from book 1 but found it harder to follow in book2. Felt a bit repetitive in places and not detailed enough in others. Plot still intrigued me

I just couldn't. The grammar of the E-book was too distracting.
