From twisted toys to gut-wrenching games, this collection of terrifying tales is unsettling enough to mess with even the most hardened Five Nights at Freddy's fans. In this volume, horror master Scott Cawthon spins three sinister novella-length stories from different corners of FNAF's canon. Each story comes complete with accompanying artwork from a fan-favorite game artist to bring the horror to life in a whole new way.
Readers beware: In this startling world, desperate wishes have an unexpected cost, beautiful trinkets reveal appalling powers, and harmless pranks can go awry in ghastly ways.
1:35AM (Five Nights at Freddys: Fazbear Frights #3) Reviews

This book was really good, probably best from the three that are out.
It was great to finally see stories from the perspective of adults, and oh boy in many ways they were so relatable.
All three stories are properly creepy and scary and leave you with so many questions and feelings. I loved that. I wasn't sure about the third story because I didn't really like the main character but half way there it got really interesting and intense.
And the mini story at the end!!!
Honestly, each book is better than the previous one. I can't wait to see how this series ends! -
the stories are short but juicy.
beware of some bad topics if you're not used to blood or gore. (although its really just a little blood ;).)
cant wait to read the 4th TERRIFYING story! -
It was great to have some stories with adult main characters for a change! While my favourite of all Fazbear Frights stories still remains "Lonely Freddy" from the previous volume, I enjoyed this one immensely. All installments had good pacing and excellently written endings for a short horror story, my jaw literally dropped at the end of "1:35 AM" and "The New Kid"'s final paragraphs had led me to frantically discussing theories with my friend for a long time. I have already pre-ordered books 4 and 5 of Fazbear Frights as I'm waiting for more of these.

Delilah’s story is the saddest and most depressing of the series so far. To suffer all that she had suffered through in her life only to die in a vent where nobody will ever find her body after being driven the the brink by Ella is just so... sad.
Stanley’s story is just as depressing for me, however, I sort of have the ‘well it’s his own fault for ignoring medical intervention’ mindset...which I don’t like because it’s ultimately not his fault...not 100% and I hate blaming people for their own demise, even if it is basically their fault. His girlfriend dumps him for a guy whose ‘much better’ than him in every way. I figured out the ending at the very beginning but thought that they wouldn’t go THAT far. This is Fnaf, of course they would have the disappearing dolls climb down Stanley’s throat while he sleeps on the job. The only thing that I find unrealistic is Stanley’s constant refusal to visit the hospital since he starts coming down with some downright terrifying symptoms that even I wouldn’t ignore. But he drags himself to work each time, sealing his fate.
Devon’s story.. oh boy.... I HAD sympathy for Kelsey until the literal last page. But all my sympathy is on Mick and most of it was from the beginning. He’s going to hold onto the deaths of Devon [his best friend] and Kelsey [budding new friend] until he dies. I do see him blaming himself once he realizes Devon isn’t coming back or he might snap? I don’t know... Again... I hate blaming people for their own demise but Devon has shown himself to be very cruel, self-serving and selfish. He in part deserved getting bit by the freddy animatronic.. Did he deserve death? No. He’s a stupid fucking kid! Kids can be the worst and absolute MONSTERS to each other especially if they feel slighted.
And Devon’s obsession with getting Heather to like him made him do this. Especially given her words on ‘justice’ being getting revenge on someone who slighted you.
I’ve seen people claiming these books have no connection to the games but I believe they are connected but we simply do not have all the clue’s to connect it all because Cawthon wants it that way. But I do enjoy peoples theory’s trying to make sense of it all. -
I know I've said the FNaF books are dark but this is just darker The story here is that Delilah is a woman who was abused through the foster years finally she finds a job and a husband and a stable home then Richard divorces her and she is more sad than ever she goes to a yard sell and finds a doll called Ella from the 1$t book The silver eyes the Doll looks just like the child in fact Delilah was so sure she'd get a child that she had called her Emma even before she was born she notices a tag and takes it the tag reads "My Name is Ella" so Delilah takes it because it reminds her of the almost child she would have and also because it has a built in alarm clock she sets the clock for 1:35 pm but the Doll doesn't go off and She gets a taste of rental disappointment so she throws the Doll in the trash bin the next day and so on she gets woken up by the Doll at 1:35 am(I dunno why it's am instead of PM)every day Delilah Knowing that she will never feel safe,Goes in to a 3-story building in construction enters the vent and dies "She'd never wanted things she'd wanted love" like I said the book is very dark it's really dark hopefully this review tells you about this book

I was a little late to reading this one but I'm always looking forward to the newest addition to the Fazbear Frights series and oh my gosh this one did not disappoint! This was by far the scariest FNaF book to date (including the original series!) Each story brought a new and unique horror that left me unsettled for days upon days after reading. So let's dive right into the review ~
1:35am: 4.5 stars
"Delilah knew Ella had disappeared that fast because the doll had been there. She had to have been there. Something touched Delilah. The touch had been baby s0ft. Ella soft. Little fingers. Just a hint of a brush against Delilah's nightshirt-covered shoulder. No more than a hint of contact. But it had been enough to turn Delilah's intestines into a tangled mass of fear and transform her blood into liquid nitrogen. She felt like she was being frozen and broken apart from within."
Delilah is a 22 year-old divorcee who had been in foster homes her whole life up until she was a teenager. With the dream of having a baby ripped away from her when her husband leaves her, Delilah begins working at a diner to pay the bills. One day she makes a stop at a local garage sale and finds a beautiful baby doll that looks frighteningly similar to the baby she had always dreamt of having. Having to take her home with her, Delilah welcomes Ella into her life. Upon realizing that the doll was also part alarm clock, Delilah sets Ella to wake her up at 1:35 to leave for work. To Delilah’s disappointment, Ella fails to wake her up and in her frustration Delilah throws Ella in the garbage. That night, at 1:35am, she is awoken by the alarm that she thought she had gotten rid of. Each night brings a new horror as Delilah begins to awake at exactly 1:35am every day with the situation steadily worsening. How will she ever escape Ella’s grasp on her?
Being an older reader it was a very nice surprise to be reading about a twenty three year old woman rather than a pre-teen in this story! This was by far one of my favorite Fazbear Frights stories so far and definitely my second favorite ending! It was pretty frustrating for me that we never found out why or how Ella was haunting Delilah or if Delilah was even imagining it - in typical Scott Cawthon style there is simply no explanation and that left me feeling annoyed but honestly I was not expecting anything else from a FNaF book. Something I love about these stories is how they never have happy endings and that is what makes them so creepy at the same time, and 1:35am’s ending comes second only to Count the Ways (the final story from Into the Pit) in the spook department! It’s always baffling to me how a story aimed mostly towards a younger audience could get so dark and actually leave me, a 20 year old, feeling spooked and send shivers down my spine! That is why despite some frustration, I give this story 4.5 stars.
Room For One More: 4.5 stars
""We've had a sudden vacancy, I'm afraid, and we are in urgent need of someone to fill the position."
"Guy up and quit on you?" Stanley had asked.
"In a matter of speaking," the man had said, looking past Stanley. "Unfortunately, the prior security guard...passed away suddenly. Very tragic.""
Stanley is recently single and having a hard time handling it. His feelings of being lonely and depressed aren’t helped by working nights in a dark factory as a security guard where he has zero human interaction. He’s worked at this facility for over a year and all he knows about the place is he has to watch monitors to make sure nothing gets out, whatever that means. Most nights Stanley will sleep on the job and awake to nothing gone wrong, but as of late something strange has been happening. A little doll dressed as a ballerina has showed up on his desk and speaks to him through an automated voice-box, but each time he falls back asleep and awakes again the doll has mysteriously disappeared. As this continues to happen something inside Stanley begins to change, he has a horribly aching sore throat and one by one his limbs are becoming swollen and numb, heavy and unable to be moved. Something is wrong with Stanley but will he be able to figure it out before its too late?
I’m thrilled about this book being about people in their twenties! It makes the stories feel more mature and relatable when you’re reading about people closer to your age. But I’m not gonna lie, this one threw me off a bit. I wasn’t sure where Scott was going with this one but I was not expecting that. My skin crawled as I read the final pages of this story and by far this has been one of the most disturbing conclusions yet and I've been left very unsettled since finishing this one. It was a nice nod to the games to have the security guard aspect and after finishing this story is was very obviously a retelling of night four in Sister Location with Ballora and the Minireenas. This felt like one of the shorter stories in this collection but it definitely packed a punch. Room For One More is by far one of the weirdest and most disturbing Fazbear Frights stories and I’m left feeling pretty squeamish after it but that is what makes me love it! (fun fact: i read this one at about three in the morning and then fell asleep and had nightmares all night!)
The New Kid: 4.5 stars
"When he threw both arms straight out to his sides, an ear-stabbing metallic clap resounded off all four walls around them. The clap was followed by a fingernails-on-a-blackboard scraping sound. As abruptly as it started, the scraping sound ended with a loud SLAP. This triggered a cascade of snapping sounds, like dozens of steel animal traps springing into place one right after the other."
Devon and Mick are best friends who wouldn't be described by anybody in their class as popular. Devon has a crush on Heather, the prettiest girl in his class, but is struggling to get her attention. One day, a new boy arrives in class and Kelsey is instantly friends with everybody; and to their surprise, he's even nice to Mick and Devon. After the boys' clubhouse in the woods it torn down, Kelsey offers to help them build a new hangout in his backyard. The day they're all supposed to work on their new project, Kelsey ditches the boys to hang out with Heather and the other popular kids from class. Overcome with anger, Devon devises a plan for revenge. For everything to work in his favor, all Devon needs to do is lure Kelsey to the abandoned pizzeria he's discovered hidden deep in the woods.
It was a bit disappointing to be reading about young teenagers again after having two stories in a row about older individuals and I found it a bit difficult to adjust back into the minds of younger kids again. For the first half of this story I was really not into it at all, nothing creepy had happened and I had no idea where this story was headed. It wasn't until close to the end of this one that I really started to love it. Readers get to see Devon's descent into madness as he becomes overcome with jealousy and rage. My stomach was in knots as I turned each page! The detail and sheer horror of The New Kid is abrupt yet haunting at the same time. Reading the guilt and fear through the points of view of Devon and Mick was some of the best writing that Scott Cawthon has provided so far! While this story could have been a lot shorter with far less detail in the beginning, it ended up being one of my favorites overall! There's something in the way every one of these stories ends - how the last couple paragraphs make your jaw hit the floor as the realization of what's happening hits the reader and it never fails to disappoint!
Once again we have a development in the story of the Stitchwraith. It's hard to get a grasp on this creature but this piece of the puzzle seems like an important one. Readers learn that a scientist was using "haunted" objects to transfer the energy of agony and fear into machines and endoskeletons. I have a feeling this story won't make sense until the very last Fazbear Frights installment and I'm anticipating a big shock! It's less than a month until the next book and I eagerly await more insight into the world of FNaF and the Stitchwraith! -
DNF'ed at 62%.
Ugh, i HATE DNF'ing. No matter how bad a book is, i like to complete it. it's kind of like i feel like the book has beaten me or something, but for this one, i just had to stop. I just didn't care.
Once again, the book is separated into 3 stories. i read the first 2 but stopped about 10 pages into the last one.
1st story: a girl finds a doll that even after she throws it away, continually wakes her up at 1:35am. The story itself is annoying because it takes what's basically a good person and slowly drives her insane over the course of the story. it's unpleasant to read, and not in a good, horror way. just in a "why is this good person being tormented for literally no reason?" and it ends as terribly as you might expect. 1.5/5
2nd story: this one is about a guy who guards what i assume to be sister location and bad stuff happens to him involving small ballerina dolls for no real reason. Kind of like the first story how the girl kept getting more and more crazy, in this one, he's getting more and more sick. it's just not a fun read. 1.5/5
3rd story. This is the one i didn't finish. its about an unpopular boy who makes friends with a new kid who's popular, and at this point, i just ran out of steam. after 2 terrible stories in a row, i just couldn't bring myself to read a third one. and the story started out with a premise i really didn't care about. It's the longest of the 3 and i had no desire to read another 100 pages of this. N/A / 5
I mean, i'll probably look at 4 and see if maybe that one's better. this may have just been a dud 3rd book, as i really did enjoy the ball pit story in the first book and the plushtrap story in the 2nd. so i usually liked at least 1 of the 3 stories. Honestly though, this one was a flop that i just couldn't finish.
1.5 out of 5 rounded up to a 2.

i am more and more invested in fazbear frights stories with each next book!!
the 1:35 am story interested me because of the doll, her name was Ella and she looked just like the Ella doll from the trilogy, but she worked differently, she definitely wasn't the Charlie Ella doll. is she the fazbear frights' version of trilogy's Ella?
the room for one more story was creepy, the thought of little animatronic dolls entering you through your mouth.... ugh. also i think that the underground facility was some kind of fazbear frights' version of circus baby's entertainment and rental, because the little ballerina dolls were definitely Minireenas, and Stanley saw Funtime Foxy, Funtime Freddy and Ballora in his dreams.
the new kid story actually left me speechless!! i really liked Mick, Devon was... weird, and i really liked Kelsey until... yeah WHAT HAPPENED?? i figured out that Kelsey is definitely not human, but who is he?? he seems like the "evil version of Cassidy", that was literally my first thought (because of Golden Freddy obviously). also i was so mad at Devon, the kid literally knew that the suit IS DANGEROUS, he literally hurt his hand when putting it on, but nOOO he still decided to put Kesley inside, what a great idea! well, he also died later so, i dont know, justice?
oughh i liked the short story about Stitchwraith's birth, he's full of agony because of all of these things that Phineas was collecting, but what is he trying to do now? does he have a goal? AND HE CAN KILL WITH JUST A TOUCH?? amazing. can't wait to read more. -
Just like the first two books, it really a good horror/suspense series. I will say, i liked this one less than Fetch and Into the Pit. Only really because of the very last story in the book, I just felt there should have been more to it, not an explanation per say, but a stronger understanding or defining of the end.
Either way, good series, can't wait for book #4. -

1:34am is the third books of Fazbear Frights and most defiantly the best so far. The first to the last stories had all left me with many questions and feeling intermittent. I recommend to read this book after you have read the first two books and also if you are interested in mystery and thriller as these books contain very chilling predicament situations.
~Spoiler Alert~
The first story starts of with a woman named Delilah who lives in apartment next to a neighbor who non stops sings about her days. As you read the book you start to understand Delilah's backstory being an orphan and having divorced her husband and becoming attached with sleep. We also find out that she works as a diner and that her parents had died when she was 11 and slept to keep herself happy. Her life isn't the best as it can be. One day she finds a garage sale which is where she finds this doll that looks exactly like the baby that Delilah had envisioned of having. She then names the doll Emma which was also what she was gonna name her baby that she was expecting to have with her husband. The doll was manufactured by Fazbear Enertainment and was able to do things such as serve as a alarm clock. When Delilah takes the doll with her to her apartment the only function that worked for the doll was the alarm clock which is what she uses it for until realizing that it doesn't really work. This is when it goes down hill after throwing Emma away the doll starts to haunt her every night and wakes her up at 1:35 am no matter where she was. This left Delilah thinking that she couldn't go back to her life and that the doll would find her everywhere she goes. By the end of the book Delilah starts to go insane as the doll continuously follows her everywhere she goes while she tries to runaway from it. The story ends with her getting herself stuck in a air vent as a way of getting away from the doll. This left the story ending with a cliffhanger. What makes this story interesting is how the doll was never physically showed again after being thrown into the dumpster as for the rest of the book everything was just happening in her head she not being able to sleep peacefully in her bed again. This left me with many questions as to why the doll was haunting her and if the doll was really just Delilah's imagination or if it was really Delilah doing this. The place where she ends up at the end was a adorned construction sight which she planned on hiding in when she had found a room that looked nearly completed and with a vent opening that was just barley big enough for her to slip into. This place is the same location for the sister location game. This also connects stories at the end of the book with the stitch wraigth and with the investigator Phineas maybe investigating about the doll and finding Delilah's belonging in her car but I don't think he will be able to find her body as its located in a construction sight in the middle of nowhere. Also I think Phineas will be looking for some type of energy related to the doll as its never explained how the doll even moves around and chases Delilah. The doll might be haunted as it show signs of torment and some mental anguish. This could mean the doll is energized by agony. So I'm not sure if the doll is actually just a hallucination or actually real. This story is by far the most confusing and complicated one out of the three.
The second story is about a guy named Stanley who plans to work the nightshift at this facility which seems to be set in the sister location game once again. What's weird about the work place is that the path that Stanley has to come through has this garbage bin which smells like decaying flesh. Furthermore, in the facility there are these metal doors that makes these loud banging noises which could be the scoopers. The owner of the place also talked in a nervous way and never explained everything to Stanley about what he was suppose to do and just hired him on the spot. Also the last person who had worked there had seemed to have a heart attack which I don't think was true. In addition, he also had said that Stanley was suppose to be guarding anything that come out and not in. When Stanley starts his first night he doesn't have any idea on what he was even guarding. This facility is clearly very isolated as it doesn't have not one person that has actually stepped foot into the building. This facility is a sign that something terrible is going to happen. On the first night Stanly he hears rustling coming from the vents and decides to go and find out what it was but sees nothing so decides to take a nap and then wakes up to find a doll sitting on his desk. The doll is from sister location and is called Minireena it can twist into any position. Day after day Stanley keeps finding the doll on his desk he presumes that someone just places it on his desk. As the days go buy Stanley's body starts to struggle to function normally and it progressively gets worse until he finds out something about the doll one night. Every nigh he realizes that the doll has a different type of dent or scratch on it and then figures out that there has been different dolls every night sitting on his desk. After realizing all of this he decides to take a nap and when he does he has a dream about a ballerina opening his jaw to the extent that hiss jaw starts to throb. This made Stanley wake up and find the doll trying to squeeze into his mouth. He quickly throws it to the floor and starts to run out of the building. While he does he hears the minireena dolls giggling inside his body and making movements around each section of his body. It ends with a cliffhanger. I think the dolls made their way to Stanley's office by crawling through the vents as they could move about on their own and it would also explain why they were damaged because they were making there way through vents. The garbage bin that smelt like decaying flesh could of have been the last worker who worked there as the dolls could control Stanley's body and left him there to decay. The dolls doesn't control the character mentally but physically this time. This story was one of my favorites as it isn't that long and has a lot of action instead which is what I look for in a story.
The third story is about two boys named Devon and Mick who aren't very popular. They have their own hangout where they hangout in after school. One day their hangout gets abolished and they are now in search for a new one. At school Devon spends most of his time trying to get Heather's attention when at lunch they are introduced to the new kid called Kelsey. Kelsey is very popular and is friends with Heather which makes Devon question why he is even hanging out with them. One day Kelsey decides to build his own hangout and asks Mick and Devon if they could help they agree and while on their way to get supplies Heather and her friends show up and instead they get a ride.
This left Devon and Mick to wait for the next pick up which upset Devon as he felt jealous of Kelsey and how he just left with Heather. The next day Mick finds Devon acing like his normal self again, happy and cheerful. But while on a hike in the woods Kelsey throws a rock at a bird and kills it which left Mick thinking Devon was a right weirdo. At school Kelsey apologizes for having to pick up Mick and Devon after dropping of Heather but Devon seemed to be fine and forgives Kelsey straight away and persuades him to go to a abandoned building where he had found a new hangout. While at class the teacher talks about what Justice means. Kelsey says its what balances the scales. Heather instead says its revenge. The teacher debates with Heather as to why and that's when she says "accidents happen". They all go and once they find the place it is similar to the fazbear pizzeria. When they enter the place they spot a Golden Freddy suit lying in a room. Kelsey starts talking about the animatronic and seems to know a lot about it. They all decide to move it into the open place where all the other main four animatronics were. Devon asks Mick to find some tools for the workhouse while Kelsey and Devon start to observe the suit Devon asks Kelsey to get into it. Kelsey agrees and once he gets in he stats to move about. Mick arrive and when he does they hear a loud click and Kelsey starts to shriek and the suit starts to get smothered with blood. Devon was memorized by his suffering until he realizes Mick was there and starts to act concerned and scared. He persuades Mick not to tell anyone about what happened and on their way out they hear a rustling from behind but don't check where it was coming from. One day Devon decides to find Kelsey as he starts o feel a little guilty about what happened. When he finds the suit he expects Kelsey to be dead and still tries to get him out. He manages to get himself stuck and when he does he hears someone call his name. That when his arm gets caught jammed by the mouth of the Golden Freddy and he feels someone's hair. He at first thinks its Kelsey's but it was actually somebody else as he sees black curly hair instead. That when it cuts to Mick coming out of school and when he does he sees Kelsey introducing himself to two boys who aren't so popular. This story left me intrigued and wanting to know more. I think the reason why Kelsey had managed to come back to school was because he could of have been a lonely Freddy who somehow possesses someone's body. His blue eyes and they way he acts around Devon and Mick makes him similar to the way the Lonely Freddy acts when wanting to know more about someone. This story left me with way to many questions to count. Like who called Devon's name before he had died. And what was that noise that occurred after Devon and Mick left the building. Also who was the person who had been in the Golden Freddy suit? This story was clearly the most interesting and creepiest when you realize the way Kelsey had survived and when you find the black curly hair person in the suit instead. This story was my favorite out of the whole book. -
Actual rating: 3.5 stars This was the second collection of FNAF novellas I read along with my daughter before going to sleep. She's a big FNAF fan, and this collection has been her favorite so far (except for the last story which she hates!). I previously read Into the Pit with her, and I found myself enjoying this one more.
Our favorite story in the collection was about a man who breaks up with his girlfriend, has a pretty lonely life and then gets a job at a mysterious factory where he finds a creepy doll that keeps showing up in his office. It's ending is hair-raising to say the least!
The middle story was almost my favorite- it had the perfect chilling ending- but the main plot dragged on a little too long. It's about a woman who finds a doll at a garage sale that has a programmable alarm inside it. She thinks the doll will be the answer to helping her get her life back in order, but, needless to say, that's that last thing the doll does.
The final story was the darkest. It's about revenge and the meaning of justice and the hurt caused by not fitting in. The ending missed its mark a little, though for both me and my daughter.
I really enjoy our times together reading these novella collections and look forward to then next one! -
Had a bit of a roller coaster with this one; half of it I liked and the other half not so much, but I’d say overall it was still pretty good.
The first novella was my favorite of the 3. I love how we never actually see the doll, but at the same time, I think that was part of my issue with it. I felt the story was too long without actually seeing anything, and just constantly reading that these scary things happen. So if it was a shorter story, all that suspense without physical evidence of what was happening would have been better.
The 2nd story had a good plot, but the childish writing style threw me off. I forget how old he was, but he was old enough to not say stuff like “dollies”, and he had no problem talking to dolls like he was a 4 year old girl. But again, I liked the plot and finally having a novella set in Sister Location. I would love to see more with that.
The last novella was boring for me until the end. I also didn’t care for the childish writing style, like we were in the POV of middle school boys. I don’t even remember if we got their age until the very end. 15! It was written like they were 10 and adventurous young boys just exploring. But had a good ending, because it was setup pretty well. -
These stories keep getting more and more intense and I'm loving it. The main thing that I like about these stories are the fact they they are chilling and not afraid to hold back from going dark places. From the past stories they end in dark and scary ways that rarely have happy endings. They've been reminding me of the Goosebumps novel series by R.L. Stein which were the first books I ever started reading, so it has a sort of nostalgic factor that I love, but as I said before, these are much darker.
1:35 AMThis first story was the second creepiest of the bunch. Delilah finds a doll at a yard sale that she was going to be using as an alarm clock, sets it to 1:35 PM and waits. The alarm dosen't go off so she figures its broken and throws it away. But that night at 1:35 AM she wakes up, and it continues to happen over and over. This book didn't have that big of a connection to FNAF but it was still amazing. If you look at it like a normal thriller it shows a slow decent into madness which is what I found interesting even though very creepy.
Room For One More? This was probable the least creepiest but still gave me chills. Stanly is working in an underground facility as a security guard and one night he finds a small puppet on his desk. The puppet keeps reappearing and disappearing each night, as he progressively gets sicker and sicker. I did not see the ending coming even though it seems obvious, its just so gruesome I didn't let my mind wander there.
The New KidThis one started out light as Devon and his friend Mick are in high-school and meet a new friend named Kelsey. They're in search of a new clubhouse and there's not much I can say without spoiling it but things go dark very fast and I devoured it, it was my favorite story of the bunch.
-
this is an amazing and terriFying addition to the fazbear frights series! the mysterious being within delilAh's dreams gave off a perfect aura of mystery. stanley's employer is a strange man when it comes to his love of collecting antique machines (i would like to know where he got that old bunny masK!). and for devon... you'll have to read it to get an idea on what's going on in this mystErious world of five nights at freddys!

The last story was probably my fav but the second really stuck with me

Once, when Devon was little, his mom was driving him to school and she ran over a cat in the street. The cat didn't die immediately. Instead, it made a sound that was like all the sounds of suffering rolled into one—screaming, wailing, howling, and other vocals Devon couldn't even describe. That sonic signature was embedded in Devon's brain. He'd always thought it would be the worst thing he'd ever hear in his life.
He was wrong.
This was the worst.
1:35 AM is, by a very small margin, the worst of the Fazbear Frights books up to this point. Like, an incredibly small margin. And that's really just because of one story; every other story is at least very good, and I would recommend them all, and this book as a whole.
1:35 AM itself, the first story, is the aforementioned one which makes this book the worst of the first 3 rather than the best. It's about a woman who purchases an old baby-shaped alarm clock that she accidentally sets to go off at 1:35 AM each night, and even after throwing it away it continues to wake her up in increasingly worrying ways. This is actually a fantastic premise, and the alarm clock is a new iteration of the Ella character who I very much liked from the original FNaF books (The Silver Eyes to The Fourth Closet), but the execution falls very flat and soggy. What the protagonist is clearly finding distressing struggles to convey itself as distressing to the viewer; it's very slow paced and doesn't really pick up until about 3 quarters in. And at that point when Ella's methods become more prominent, they just get sillier instead of scarier. I can commend the story for having a wonderfully shocking ending, and a nice side character who is the protagonist's best friend, but that's all I can really give it, along with a 3 star rating.
Room For One More, the second story, is quite a bit better. This story is heavily based on the FNaF game Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, and focuses on a man working a security job at an underground facility whose health starts to mysteriously decline. This story is much shorter than the others, and even then it feels drawn out a bit with some unnecessary scenes, but I still like the plot and execution quite a bit. The protagonist is a nice and sympathetic character who is also fairly amusing, and the answer to everything going on is one of the most terrifying things in the franchise in my opinion. This gets a 4 star rating.
The New Kid is the third story, and the best in the book. This one is about a rude and unpopular kid who becomes jealous of a perfect new student after befriending him and decides to get revenge on him. The premise is very simple, but it turns into something quite terrifying, along with actually having a lot of character depth to it (unless I'm reading into it too much of course). The story is also one of the most FNaF-adjacent stories so far, not deviating much from the general storytelling of the games, so people who dislike how much the other stories diverge will like this one better I believe. It also gets a 4 star rating.
Finally, the bonus epilogue story, which is the first to actually exceed the quality of some of the previous full stories, and by a lot compared to the first two epilogues! This one follows some new interesting characters and focuses heavily on the science and logic that will factor into a lot of this series and FNaF as a whole in the future, along with a big bombshell about these epilogues so far at the end. One more 4 star rating.
Overall, only real issue is the titular story; would still definitely recommend to fans of the other books. -
I really liked the first story because the doll named Ella looked exactly like Deliah's future kid she was hoping to have with her ex. Also, according to the ¨Silver Eyes¨ the doll was made for Charlie by her father Henry. Ella only had her Alarm clock that worked out of all the functions she could do. I think it's kinda sad that Ella had to get thrown out. The last story called ¨The New Kid¨ was very sad because, the new kid named Kelsey started to make friends immediately as soon as he joined the school, but first he made friends with the two outcasts, Devon and Mick. Later Kelsey promises the two he will let them use an empty room at his farmhouse for their hangout, however, Heather talks him into letting her group of friends come along too. When Devon and Mick are left behind due to lack of room, (even though Kelsey promised he will come back to get them) Devon sees Kelsey taking Heather as betrayal and storms off with Mick. Devon then finds an abandoned Freddy Fazbear Pizzaria along with a bunch of animatronics and suits. When Devon tells Kelsey he found a hangout, he then leads him and Mick to the Pizzaria and finds the empty animatronic suit that might either be Fredbear or Golden Freddy, (I am not certain) Devon tells Kelsey to get inside, and he does. He then tells Mick and Devon that he doesn't know how to get up but he can wiggle his arms in the air and do a little dance. But unfortunately, the spring locks come loose (I am starting to think that it is Fredbear now) and Kelsey gets his insides ripped apart as the suit forces the metal from the animatronic into Kelsey´s body. Devon didn´t want this to happen, he just wanted revenge for Kelsey hanging out with Heather! As Kelsey screams bloody murder, Devon is in shock, and Mick is crying. Later Devon sees if Kelsey is still alive he sticks his arm and wiggles around to find Kelsey's body, but then.....*Snap!* a spring lock comes loose and Devon's arm is trapped in the suit, and he's stuck there until he bleeds to death. In the second story, Stanley has a new job at Sisters location, and every night he would see a minireena and when he fell asleep it would disappear, and his limbs will get numb and he would have a sore throat, this would happen every night he went to work. Later into the book, he found out that every minireena he has seen has gone inside of him! Now that's just.....ew, but anyway I really liked this book and am in the last story of the 4th book! Can´t wait to review that one!

Not as good as the first 2 books in this series but they can't all be winners right?
3 more tales. The first, 1:35, had a lot of potential. This series is bringing out new characters and lore for the FNAF fandom to pore over, and as we can see on the cover art without supplying any spoilers for those who read this review, we can see that the story will feature a baby doll. Unfortunately the appearance of the baby doll in the whole story was very minimal. 90% of the tail takes place in our narrator's mind and while it was definitely creepy, I kept waiting for more to happen then what did and I was extremely disappointed with how it all turned out.
Now the second story, Room for One More, definitely made up for what the first story lacked and then some. This narrator is a security guard for an extremely sketchy building. They are so secretive you do not know what is inside of the building in or what it is that he is securing but it all sounds eerily familiar to fans of the effing a floor because obviously the security guard role is a very prominent one in the fandom and Canon. Again I was a little bit disappointed because this premise could have been taken a lot further. So the appearance of that character's profession topped with the character within the story provided a ton of Glee for me as a huge fan but I was so sad that they didn't take this whole setting even further with maybe even like a little more foreshadowing as to what the hell kind of job he was at all though you can pretty much figure out the facility he was in with everything that happens.
The New Kid was good I was not expecting the ending. I wish that they had done a little bit of extra character development when it came to the new kid himself but I will not get into what happens as to avoid spoiling even more of these stories.
The background connecting stories as well gets explained quite a bit more with the police officers and such at the end. I'm interested to see what exactly is going to happen with the Stitchwraith, although you will be able to make more sense out of it as ultimately this is like its origin story. How actually relates to the fnafworld though what is a little spotty maybe we will find out more in the next two novels! -
1:35AM: Probably the story I have resonated the most due to the fact I am well acquainted with lack of sleep and hypnagogic hallucinations (basically when your consciousness is in transition between being awake and asleep so it's hard to distinguish reality from dream). This story made me feel so scared due to the fact I have gone through those moments when I wake up in a cold sweat thinking I heard or saw something and I have to debate if it was just my imagination or reality. An extremely good story with an excellent setup that honestly still gives me chills thinking about it, specially the ending.
Room for One More: A good short story, probably excellent if you want stuff from Sister Location. My main gripes are how the main mystery of the story, Stanley's health, is extremely easy to solve very early in, yet it is played like a huge twist. And also how the length of the story didn't leave much room for the development of more characters aside from the main one. Even with all that, it was really enjoyable and very relatable, which can be considered very sad honestly.
The New Kid: This was a wild ride, I know these stories always have a tragic or horrific ending, but this was insane. The whole buildup was excellent in my opinion, specially since you get to know a lot about the main two characters, Devon and Mick and I really liked their friendship, which gave me Diary Of A Wimpy Kid vibes due to how much of a jerk Devon is. Still, that ending, dude, I think everyone knows what was going to happen the moment Kelsey got inside the spring suit but I in my mind I was hoping it wouldn't happen. Still, the actual ending of the book was a huge plot twist and cliff hanger that I don't think we'll ever see the answer to.
I think this and the previous book have been great, they've had their weak elements but the overall quality was good, I think this one would be my current favorite since it had two stories centered around adults which made it more relatable overall. -
1:35 AM - 3.5/5
Really cool and creepy atmosphere. Kind of annoying how the rest of the characters present seemed to never believe or even help someone who was clearly going through some heavy shit? Like yes just tell your friend, your best friend might I add, is obviously going through some creepy experience or is at least convinced that she is, instead of getting her professional help or supporting her, just write it off because you think she's being crazy. Yeah that makes sense. It again, pissed me off with how the story wraps up in a way that leaves things to the imagination. I want that gory, unnecessarily drawn out horrifying ending that makes me so uncomfortable I want to bleach my eyeballs. But ya know, did enjoy this one.
Room for One More - 3/5
Really loved bits of this and really didn't like others. I like a supernatural (?) element but sometimes having stuff thrown in there for the sake of creepy nightmares which make reference to animatronics we know and love, was something I didn't know how to place in the story. It kind of didn't feel like it had to be there and didn't make sense for it to be there anyway? The discovery at the end of the story definitely works to make the skin crawl, and the amount of times you think the main character should be able to get away but doesn't does make the head hurt.
The New Kid - 3/5
Another short story with the problem of being too vague as to not to give too much away. Main character is odd in a sort of Dr Jekyl, Mr Hyde way whenever the story needs him to be. Best friend Mick is cute as hell though so that helps. Also really happy with how frank it was with the more gory and creepy scenes.
Part of me though, wants to see it when all of these dead children are found and how those around them react to that. Or how the severely traumatised children just like keep going? Overall averaging out to a 3.5/5.
