There is one major problem: Piper’s fear of public speaking has her passing out!
Soon, a crowded room isn’t the only thing Piper has to worry about.
Will she escape the tattooed man determined to shut her up permanently? Will the sheriff be able to help catch him after he hospitalizes one of her friends?
And, the biggest question of all, what is in the giant paper sack of “emergency supplies” that Gladys brings to the bakery?

I enjoyed this book. With most mysteries the story ends with the killer getting arrested, so it was nice that with this book it continues on from the last book (Bake, eat and be buried) and you get the aftermath of the arrest. Its not so much a mystery but more how the bad guy's try to stop Piper from testifying and I loved it. I would say to really enjoy it you need to have read or listened to both books, but that is no hardship because both are fun and entertaining. The reason this series, other than the humour, works for me is because of the wonderful characters. I really liked Glady's emergency supplies bag and the unusual ways everyday items can help in a crisis. Sam and Grifs mum also added to the drama and entertainment factor. As I said there is no real investigation and no dead bodies to find but with a number of attempts it certainly never got dull. Off to start the next book.
After the arrest of the leader of the human trafficking ring Piper is summoned to testify in court. The worse thing she should face is getting over her nerves standing in front of so many people but that turns out to be the least of her worries when a number of attempts on her life accrue. Will she or her friends live to see the bad guys go to jail? Or will being chased by a gun wielding Yakuza put an end to her fourth of July celebrations?
I liked the narrator. She has a pleasant voice that made the story just fly by.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. -
Public speaking is as frightening as the Yakuza
A good read. This is more in character of the setting and resonates the depths that the money has in trafficking and exploitation. The characters too are getting more worldly and aren't quite as easily frightened as before.
A court case is coming up by a she has a phobia of public speaking. Bee-Bee needs a place to stay and a job. Plus members of the Yahuza want to shut her up permanently. Bugs, shootings, murder, kidnapping and more are all linked into a case that has far reaching effects. Will they stop the Yahuza before one or more of the girls is killed? Will she be able to testify in front of a crowd? Will Bee-Bee and Flo get their acts together? -
Who knew that running a bakery was so dangerous?
This time Piper & Sam don't go on a weekend trip, but there's certainly not less excitement. Piper has to testify against Regina, & someone wants to stop her. Will she get hurt, and (arguably more importantly), will she finally get some alone time with Griff? Read the book to find out! -
It seems like the danger isn’t over for Piper and Sam. Somebody seems to be after them. There’s fun characters. And there’s always something going on in the Ooey Gooey Bakery. Piper and Sam bring humor throughout the story. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was really good.

I'm loving this book so far... I love how the author starts each sequel with a back story from the book before....

Another disappointing read. This book promised so much but the delivery was lacklustre. And what’s with leaving the end unfinished to force us to buy the next book? That is not the way to do it. I don’t see me buying any more of these books.
