As the best offensive defenseman in the NHL,
you’d think my skills would get more notice than my face.
Ridiculous, but I’ve been dubbed the “pretty boy” since rookie year.
Pair the looks with my multi-million-dollar career, and it’s a recipe to get used.
I’ve been burned before, and it’s never happening again.

Then I meet Delaney Collins—Charleston’s impossibly sexy librarian.
She’s brilliant, funny, and the chemistry between us crackles every time we touch.
But she doesn’t have a clue who I am.

Delaney treats me like a normal person, seeing straight to the heart of me.
And all it wants is her.

Only problem?
She hates celebrity athletes.
Her own dark past has ensured she’ll never take a chance on one again.
But the deeper we get, the harder it is for me to admit what I do on the ice.

All I’ve ever wanted is for someone to love me for me—not the paycheck, the fame, or the face.
But I’m not sure love will be enough to save us when the truth comes out.

    Ok I loved it but Logan is just a dream guy for any girl. But Cannon and Persephony did what!!!!!!!???? I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!!!!!!

  • Auntee

    THE most frustrating couple of the whole series...

  • Donna Sutay-Cooke

    I liked it, but honestly not my favorite of Samantha’s books. I just couldn’t warm up to Delaney. Her hangs up just got frustrating. Adored Logan, but had already fallen in love with him in the previous book. Loved that we got to spend a good bit of time with Cannon. As always, Samantha has set us up perfectly for the next one and I really, really can’t wait.

    Nice cute sweet predictable boring a little
    Not the best for this author

  • Karen

    Author, could we once not have the woman be clueless......and then so irate over something that was partially her fault.

    Otherwise, I'm digging some of these future characters....

  • Dela

    Wow..

    This was so not my favorite book. There were only two things I enjoyed about this book. One being the chemistry between Cannon and Persephone because they are unmatched. Seeing those twos banter and dynamic was entertaining and probably the only reason I finished this book. The Second reason being when Logan and Delaney met. How they met was cute and that was about it.

    Literally everything about Logan and Delaney being together was shady. Logan lied throughout the entire relationship and Delaney was prejudiced throughout it too. Logan lied because Delaney wouldn't give him the time of day if she knew his profession and every time he tried to tell Delaney the truth she would go on a rant about how she couldn't stand people in Logan's profession. It was a vicious cycle.

    While I understand Delaney went through was horrible and traumatic it doesn't give her an excuse to talking trash about people and stereotyping them. And to be honest Delaney's blatant refusal to see past a profession pisses me off because when Cannon finally tells her that he's an athlete to get the heat off Logan she shoves Cannon in a box among her terrible stereotypes. Cannon who had been a friend to her and who she knew longer than Logan had become a monster in the span of seconds because he plays a sport? No I'm sorry thats wrong as hell.

    And while I get why Logan has trust issues he also pissed me off. The whole freaking book he complains about being pretty and how hard it is that it got to the point of ridiculous.

    Last thing i have to say is that besides the initial meeting of Logan and Delaney i don't think they had any chemistry. Like i was not rooting for them at all. They talked about how they were each others best friends and how close they were but that was it. They talked about it but besides important conversations for plot value they had no real growing moments. Just big moment after big moment.

    This was a no go for me.

    Every time one of Samantha’s hockey books hits my everything stops so I can devour it. Our boy Logan sure didn’t disappoint in the least. These Reapers are one family I wish I could join.

    But one of my favorite things besides the swoony alphas she writes heroines strong enough to support them and have their backs.

    Can I seriously move into Reaper Village?

  • Diana R. Johnston

    Le sigh...

    Another amazing story in the series!! I can’t wait to read the next one! Logan and Delaney were just precious!

  • Renée

    Logan by Samantha Whisky is a hockey sports romance that follows the story of Logan and Delaney. This is the fourth book in the Carolina Reapers series, which is a spin-off to the Seattle Sharks series.

    In Connell’s story we got a little look into Logan’s relationship at the time, and that was a perfect set up to see how different this relationship would be. There’s none of the using Logan to get ahead with social media and needing to be brought gifts, there’s a love blossoming and he totally deserves a girl like Delaney.

    These two have both been hurt by past relationships, and just being friends sets the boundaries they both need. However, as things are surface level there’s lots of important details that don’t get shared, until they are both too deep and then things fall apart.

    This story ticks the sports romance box, but adds in unlikely friends to lovers with a HFN.

    Didn't finish but gave it two stars because I love this author writing.

    But,
    I like heroes with more fire in them.
    Hero was a sweetheart and tons of charming and no doubt some readers will love him to pieces.

    I was bored

    I'm waiting for the badass Cannon.

  • Adah

    How did she not know???? Like seriously

    I’d have googled him immediately

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A romance that I devoured with the well-established romance trope of the famous guy incognito ><
    I really liked the fact that the two heroes became friends before they became lovers and I loved seeing them together!
    BUT
    I realize that what prevents me each time from giving one of the books in this series five stars are the heroines ><
    There always comes a point in the book (around 80%) where there will be a stupid misunderstanding and, WHILE THE HERO IS PERFECT FROM BEGINNING TO END, the heroine reduces her heart to the state of shepherd's pie ><
    And each time, I want to go into the book to find the poor heartbroken hero a girlfriend who will adore him as she should (like me xD)
    But it's still a light and sexy romance that I devoured in no time (It must be said that I was back to work today and my motivation was non-existent xD)
    Another solid installment in Samantha Whiskey’s Reapers series. Logan, a top NHL defenseman for the Reapers, has ditched his social media influencer girlfriend and has sworn off relationships. He’s tired of people only seeing a pretty face and only wanting what he can do for or give them instead of wanting him the person. Delaney is the town’s head librarian. She too isn’t looking for a relationship either and definitely not with a famous athlete.
    They cute meet early one morning at the library when Logan takes Cannon to the library to pick up a book for their next road trip. She has no idea who he is or what he does for a living and that’s perfectly fine by him. They’re attracted to one another, but since neither are looking for a relationship, they decide to just be friends. Their friendship deepens as they spend more time with one another and they can no longer ignore the physical attraction. They both are invested in the relationship and grow to really care about each other. Delaney opens up about her past and why she feels the way she does about athletes. Knowing this, Logan is afraid to lose her and continues to hide the truth about his job. The truth is revealed in a confrontation with her ex and Logan’s fears are realized. After sometime apart to think, Delaney realizes that she knows Logan isn’t like her ex and that she loves the man she knows in spite of his job and status.
    I enjoyed the book and loved Logan throughout. Delaney was a little harder to like. She had been seriously hurt in the past, but because it took her way too long to realize Logan wasn’t anything like her ex and that he proved it over the months they spent together.
    Although I was provided an arc by the author for my honest review, I purchased a copy as well.
    Logan and Delaney weren’t exactly love at first sight.
    She hates celebrity athletes ! He’s one on the best in the NHL. What could possibly go wrong? The Reapers’ stories continue! Nothing like a good sports romance!
  • Melissa Rob
    I am digging these hockey boys by Samantha Whiskey! I CAN NOT wait for Cannon's book ❤
    FABULOUS FANTASTIC WONDERFUL !!!!
    Logan OMG MY NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND!!!! I love Samantha Whiskey's REAPER BOY'S!!! They are a diverse lot that make a fascinating team. Samantha takes her time introducing us to them in such an awesome way. I can't say enough about this book . It deals with TRUST.Everyone has issues with TRUST some more than others. Both Delaney and Logan have been dealt bad hands by their exes. This book is how the two of them solve these issues with the help of their Reaper family and friends. There are laughs Persephone and Cannons stare off at the auction has to be one of the funniest ever. DEFINITELY 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 BOOK I HIGHLY IT TO Y'ALL!!!! Can't wait for the next book!!!
    3,5* .
    Until 80% I wanted to give 4 *, but Delaney increasingly got on my nerves. I wanted to slap her. Ugh.
  • Kylee
    Logan is a man scorned, one who is tired of being used for his fame, fortune and his good looks. When a book comes flying at his face he might have just stumbled across the one person who might see him for him. Delaney has her own issues and scars from trusting the wrong man which keep her from letting go. These two have a chemistry and a connection that you will feel soul deep. With secrets hovering over their heads, you will be kept on the edge of your seat, your heart will be in your throat and you will be holding your breath. A story that will touch your heart, have your eyes getting misty and heating you up from the inside out. If two people ever deserved a HEA, Logan and Delaney are it.
  • Darcy
    I was intrigued to see what kind of woman would win over Logan due to his ex, who he let run all over him. Delaney was perfect for Logan, she didn't care that he was a famous hockey player, in fact that was a huge ick factor for her, so Logan hid it. You knew this was going to cause problems when the truth came out and sure enough it did. But by that time I felt like Delaney should have known him better to realize why he didn't tell her, her own issues. When Delaney finally got over herself and allowed herself to want Logan it made for a fun time at the auction, love that these two found their way to each other.
  • Heather andrews
    Logan has to decode what his woman is saying at times, "my brow furrowed. “Well-being? Like orgasms?” I was damned good at handing those out." Logan doesn't really have the best timing, “my mom and my sister.” Her jaw dropped, and she scrambled out of bed faster than I’d ever seen her move. “So that’s a no to staying in bed?” I called after her as she shut the bathroom door." So far this is the best book out of the series, I adored Logan.
    Logan
    So I loved Logan and I couldn't wait to read his story and see his happy ending...but Delaney was annoying in certain parts....She kept on putting him off when she knew he had secrets. He tried a few times right at the end and still put him off. I wanted to slap her when she was upset with him. he did EVERYTHING for her. Ugh!!!
    But that aside, I enjoyed this. And obviously can't wait for Cannon's story next!!!!!
  • abire
    “You make me weak in the knees every time I see you, and yet I feel the strongest I’ve ever been when you’re in my arms. I love you, Delaney.”
    3.75 stars.
    I loved this one! Logan and Delaney were the absolute cutest!! I wasn't a huge fan of how long it took for the secret to come out or HOW it did, but it still didn't ruin this book for me! And the CannonxPersephone crumbs were a huge bonus!!
    💋💋💋
    These books have the powers to rip your heart out and then rebuild it .
    Mushy , twitching, soggy mess that I was when I’d finished reading.
    I was brilliant as always . I loved the book .
    I really am dying to see the next one done so I have more from Samantha .
    It’s a pleasure to read her books .
  • Patricia Rohrs (Spellbound Stories blog)
    A sweet romance between two amazing people! I loved how cute and romantic Delaney and Logan are! Their friendship and light banter had me hooked! I definitely need to read the other books because this bunch seems like a ton of fun!
  • Laiza
    First book from the author and this series and I enjoyed it although there are moments I felt like Delaney is so clueless and it frustrate me a little. Logan Ward is not just a pretty face although the cover is 🔥 🔥 🔥
  • DemetraP
    I liked how the rich hockey player hero hid his job from her so he would know for sure that she loved him for himself.
    I didn't like how he let it go on way too longer.
    The other woman drama with Blair his ex-girlfriend was also annoying.
  • Solara!
    most frustrating couple ever but still cute
