She was his best friend’s little sister.
He was supposed to watch out for her, not sleep with her.
Not… fall for her.
My Best Friends Sister Reviews

I love how the title of this book tells you exactly what you're going to get- a best friend's sister romance. Ava is living in New York going to law school and her older brother tells his friend Jackson to look after her. Months go by and the two never speak, but when Ava needs help, she calls Jackson. He's annoyed, but he helps her out and picks her up. The two start a bantering relationship until Ava asks Jackson for some lessons in seduction because Ava is crushing on someone in one of her classes. The two have insane chemistry and start a physical relationship. The writing in the beginning was a little awkward, especially the dialogue, but I really loved when Jackson realized he liked Ava and didn't want to let her go. They fell fast, but I loved it! I also love a jealous hero and Jackson delivered on that. Since this is a QB Tyler book, it was super steamy with loves of chemistry. It was a short and fun time!

Jackson Walsh is a corporate entrepreneur and general manwhore who does not have the time or inclination to do relationships. He enjoys having women on his arms and in his bed, but he does not stay the night, and he does not keep them any longer than 1 month, if that long. His best friend Tucker Remington is similar when it comes to the "hit it and quit it" mentality; they have been friends since they were young children. So much so, that Jackson feels like Tucker's father is his second dad, so when Tucker and his dad ask Jackson to look out for Tucker's little sister Ava (a girl he has known since she was born but hasn't seen since she was an awkward and gangly pre-teen) while she is studying law at NYU, he agrees.
Ava has always had a crush on her brother's best friend Jackson, but she knows he is unobtainable as he doesn't stay with women for long. When she gets mixed up in the complex subway system late one night and ends up in a place she wouldn't even be safe to frequent during the day, she calls Jackson to cash in the favor of looking out for her. Jackson is annoyed at first, but he agrees to go and get Ava when he learns where she is. Expecting an older version of the scrawny girl with dull brown hair, he is stunned to find one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen. Once he "rescues" her from the situation, they see each other a couple more times for casual drinks, and Ava asks Jackson to help her out with a problem she would like to be rid of.... her v-card.
Will Jackson agree to Ava's request? If he does, will it change his outlook on women? And if Ava's brother finds out, will he ever forgive his playboy friend for defiling his little sister?
This was a cute novella (~100 pages) with more character development than you usually find in shorter stories (a pleasant surprise!) and lots of steamy goodness! The only issue I had with it was that Jackson does a total 180 pretty quickly and even becomes pretty cheesy towards the end of the book, which felt inconsistent with his character (some people like cheesy H's; I like the strong alpha ones with a good heart in the end, but I don't need the mush). Overall, a good read!
Plot --- 3.5/5
Main Characters --- 3.5/5 (Jackson = 3/5 bc of inconsistency; Ava = 4/5
Supporting Cast --- 3.5/5
Steam Level --- 4/5 (erotica)
Violence --- Nothing graphic or of the domestic variety/no triggers
Language --- Some (F-bombs mostly)
POV --- 1st from Jackson's POV -
Found another gem. Not surprised by how many emotions was evoked from this novella! Such a worthy read. It’s refreshing seeing Jackson commit to Ava! I loved it.

Absolutely adore this book. It's unique for a best friend’s sibling trope; The book is written from Jackson's POV. I usually love multiple POVs, but this was brilliant; it made me think outside the box.
Jackson, known as a playboy, always considered Ava like a sister. Until his best friend asks to watch over her; after years apart, he sees how much he is grown up and is instantly smitten with her, but completely off limits.
As much as I adored this book, I wish it was a little more in depth and longer, overall a great spicy read. -
Soo freaking good. I loved that this entire book was in Jackson’s pov. It was smutty as hell and I loved how Ava pushed his buttons 90% of the time.
-
Short and sweet.
A quick read which I started to enjoy the further I got into it. -
All the feels!
“She looks up at me, and for a brief second, I’m transported back to a time when Ava used to look up at me with those doe eyes of hers. God, I’ve been hers from the start. How am I just realizing it?”
How am I just now reading about the amazing QB Tyler?! This book is my cat nip. Older brother’s best friend. Virgin little sister that wants her cherry popped by brother’s bff, so that she will be experienced for the one she “thinks” she wants to lose it with. ALL. THE. THINGS.
This book had all the things in it that makes a five star read. I can’t wait to read all of QB’s books! -
I absolutely love love brothers-best-friend and best-friends brother stories !! I love the angst and butterflies that come with it ! This was a really satisfying novella length book and I’m glad that it was a 4 Star season opener.

This one was disappointing. Everyone who knows me, knows I love a good ol’ brother’s best friends trope, I just can’t resist them, so I was really excited to read this one from Q. B. Tyler. But I just couldn’t like this.
The story starts with Jackson getting a call from Ava, his best friend’s little sister, who is now all grown up. The plot was a bit boring, revolving around Ava asking Jackson to take her virginity, because she wants another guy but doesn’t want to appear inexperienced.
But then, I just couldn’t get excited to see where all of this was going; I didn’t care when there was the drama of the brother finding out, and I certainly didn’t care about that ending, that was so rushed I couldn’t have seen it coming (so unlikely it was).
It had everything to be a really good novella, it just wasn’t. -
This was kind of basic and not the best storytelling, but something short & simple to read in between the heavier stuff
-
I just loved this book. It was a really fun and sweet story- and I just loved the fast pacing of it all, as it led to a very short and entertaining book.
I would definitely say that it got the job done, and that I had a great time reading it. Ugh, I'm just a sucker for these types of stories. -
quick little spicy novella, i had a good time, q.b had me giggling and kicking my feet

⭐️ 4.5/5
I have read other books by this author and I absolutely adore her stories. This book was a fun, steamy, quick read. I feel like the the build up of the story was done just right even though it was short. It didn’t feel rushed or any of that sorts.
I love that it was just in Jackson’s POV because we get to see him go through all the motions. Like when he starts wanting her, needing, and then loving her. Ava’s feelings were already there and I liked seeing it in the hero’s perspective of how he got there.
I love Jackson’s Possessiveness and how protective he is. Also, I love his dirty mouth. It is so hot. The steam was just that, very hot as well.
I like the background story we got, it was just enough for the length of the book. And their ending was sweet and so adorable. -
My Best Friend’s Sister was quick read that delved into the conflict of falling for your best friend's sister and the struggle of the bro code. This story was very good!
-
For a debut novel, this baby is soooo good. I enjoyed reading this and I look forward to read more!
-
I really loved this book!!!! Very sexy and totally swoon worthy. The perfect best friend/little sister romance. QB Tyler never fails to bring it!!
-
Wow. This was cute and cringey, sexy and really cringey. Annoying and sweet.
A lot of conflict that I just... I couldn't wrap my head around.
But Goddamnit, it was amazing to see QB Tyler's writing from the beginning. You can see a lot of her style from her recent works to where she started. -
jackson wasn't expecting his best friend's younger sister, who he hasn't meet for a long while, to be an absolute bombshell. once they reconnected, ava knew that she still harboured feelings for jackson. i've always liked the "best friend's sister"/"brother's best friend" trope so this was a fun and enjoyable one. it had the typical storyline but it was what i wanted so no complains there.
-
OMG!!I really liked this book at first I was like okay I'm going to start reading this book but it's probably not that good but holy shit I lovedd it.This book had everything,it had spice,it had a bit of romance, and the ending omfg it was really cute.
-
This was such an easy and fun read! This is one of my favourite tropes! Really loved the characters, only wished it was longer tbh!

I love the brothers best friend trope! It does something for meeeee. I think the only bad thing about this book being a novella is that we don’t get to see the build up between the best friend & the sister & that’s my favorite part!!
This was an enjoyable quick read!
Spice: 🌶🌶

This was extremely cute and such a fun steamy read that I got through in one sitting. It was pretty cringe in a lot of parts and definitely all a bit too convenient but I love the brothers best friend trope so much and I found myself laughing at this quite a lot. Perfect for something quick and smutty! -
I was looking for a novella on KU & found this one. talk about STEAM YALL. I enjoyed it though. A nice quick steamy romance.
-
i was not expecting this to be so good???
i absolutely loved both of the main characters. ava was so funny and adorable and jackson was such a gentleman to her. 😩
(AND THE SMUT WAS SO GOOD) -
3/5 stars, overall it was not my favourite book, I have no idea what I was expecting from a novella... But this isn't exactly what I had in mind, I feel like everything went a bit too quickly and there was only a small plot... (in my opinion), some parts of the book I did enjoy but others not so much.
I got to a point where I actually had forgotten who another character was because the book didn't hook me in as much as some others would. However, the ending however was lovely and I am excited to read a full length Q.B Tyler book! -
I enjoyed reading this, and I could not put it down!! I had to finish this in one sitting because I refused to let my eyes wander anywhere else! It is that good!
Jackson Walsh who knew from the start that he should not be doing what he desires to do with his best friend's sister but he just couldn't resist! Although Ava was someone he has known his whole life, he sees her in a new light when she goes to New York to attend school after not physically seeing her for years! Those roaming eyes! It is a hot, steamy read and I enjoyed reading how the relationship that Jackson and Ava develop through time. Loved how Ava knew what and whom she wanted! You go, girl!
I also enjoyed that this was in Jackson's POV, which by the way, he's added to my list of book boyfriends! Hot! ;)
Thank you for sharing this, QB! I loved how I was able to laugh out loud, and 'aww' at the romance you shared with this book! I cannot wait to read what you share with us next!
