I enjoyed this book but did feel like the mystery side to the story got a little bit lost with everything going on. There was no real mystery instead lots of little happening, that when put together was interesting and you got to know the characters a lot better. So from that point of view, you need to have read or listened to the previous books to get the full enjoyment out of this one, it also continues on from the last book, with Sam and Griff having to date the people of there mother's choosing. There's still lots of humour which balances out nicely BeeBee sad tale of being a victim of human trafficking. Molly and Glady's have a much better time of it with the drama and that's just a few of the great characters that I love listening all about in this fun entertaining cozy, who needs a dead body to investigate? just don't listen if you are hungry or on a diet because there is a lot of treats whipped up. I liked it all happened during a tropical storm, power cuts and fallen trees added to the drama. up
Pipper and Sam have a lot going on, first Glady is asking for time off. Was the flowers she received break up flowers and she just wants to be left alone? Second Molly, there teenage assistant, has been accepted to an art college and is leaving. Can they plan a going away party before she leaves? Sam's mother has chosen matching out fits for them all to wear at the dinner. Can they find a reason not to go or take the people they really want to go with? At the same time embarrassing photos of Sam mother the mayor's wife, or when she was younger and more care free, is finding it way into the newspaper and she is on the war path. Can they find were the photos are coming from and who would have a grudge against her? And all this while a tropical storm batters the beachs and threatens to flood the small town.
I love the narrator. I liked the first narrator but now I have heard Bianca voicing the characters I think I have found my narrator of choice. The voices sound perfect for the characters I picture in my head.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

    Downpours, dramatic events and disclosures

A good read. The plot is a mixture of life, revenge and secrets. Some of which lead to malicious rumours, revelations but also joy and happiness.
Life is turning strange. Gladys has a flower delivery that turns her giddy. Bee-Bee tell the girls more about her past and a secret sister. A storm blows in and causes havoc whilst someone is out to destroy Sam's mother. Molly is leaving soon and the girls want to send her off with a bang. Can they help calm the storm that is brewing in their small town and find out who is spreading the down low on Sam's mother. Will Gladys reveal her surprise? Will Bee-Bee get a happy ending?

As normal and non-mysterious as most of the first part of this book was and a little bit slow-moving, I was so glad I stayed with it because the ending sure made up for the lack of earlier excitement. Someone who deserved taken down a notch or ten got their just desserts, and I don’t mean cookies lol.

I felt bad for another person who’d been hurt over the years, then yet another someone got a super happy ending after a party to celebrate more of Piper and Sam’s awesome friends. The good times definitely took over from any bad times as the book ended in food and fellowship.

Sam and Piper run the Ooey Gooey Bakery. But they also seem to get tangled up in murder mysteries. In this story, there are old secrets revealed, surprise romance, and family drama. Sam and Piper, along with the crew they work with, make these mysteries so fun. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was really good.

    Best book in the series!

I liked that the book took place in town. I very much enjoyed getting to know the characters better. Learning about Beebee's past is sad, but I promise that it's not a sad book overall.

    Good read

Really enjoyed this book. It has a little of everything I like in a story, great friends, laughter, a little Roma and mystery. A must read.
