Our culture’s assault on gender differences and authority is generationally urgent because it’s unique to this Western moment, this time and place. So we must not take either set of problems out of our sights: the generationally urgent challenges to difference and authority andthe universally chronic challenge to equality. All this leads to our present moment: a reckoning for complementarianism. The task for complementarians more than ever is to continue reforming ourselves according to God's Word. We must work to understand authority and difference as well as equality from the Bible. A right understanding and practice of each will be the best defense against abuse and abdication both. That way we will "Keep [our] conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when we speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation" (1 Peter 2:12).

Complementarianism | 9Marks Journal: A Moment of Reckoning Reviews

“How Are Men and Women Different?” Kevin DeYoung
“The Accidental Reformation: How Luther and Calvin Reformed the Family” Owen Strachan
“The Sweet Rewards of a Quiet Ministry” Erin Wheeler

Read this journal with my wife Hannah.

Includes a number of excellent articles which helpfully clarify the conversations particularly from within the complementarian camp and at this current moment.

Particularly appreciated the articles by Leeman, Morell, Emadi, DeYoung, Berrus, and Jamieson’s review of On the meaning of sex (by J Budziszewksi), which I’d like to read.

This journal was helpful in giving me more to think about this issue, in terms of how the issue is viewed by others and how your understanding of this issue affects many different parts of life both in and out of the church. I found the book review on
On the Meaning of Sex to be very insightful, as well as Mitch Chase's article on Genesis 3. There were a few other points that authors made that were good and helpful, but I can't remember the specifics now.
