"Noah and Raquel had been thrown together by circumstance, but he hoped against hope they could stay together in love."
Enjoyable read times 2
"Noah needed her to know he was a man of his word. He would do anything and everything in his power to help her through such a difficult time, and after it was over, he hoped she would recognize that she could always count on him."
“I wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world but beside you, darlin’.” Noah winked as he broke out his most charming smile. He could see the slight blush on Raquel’s brown cheeks and the genuine smile on her face before she turned away."
The comeuppance was so deserving in "Circle of Deceit" for Alexander and Giselle! -
Great
I loved everything about this book. I'm glad the good guys found love. The bad guys got what they deserve. -
3.5 🌟.
This is my first time reading anything written by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Initially, I was completely taken aback by the opening chapters. They caught me completely by surprise, and I didn’t know whether I liked things the way I saw them progressing.
Boy, am I glad I continued this book. The beginning, middle and ending of the book were cleverly written. Yes, it had erotic elements, but the majority of the book is more mystery and suspense without sex; it is primarily about duplicity, greed, murder, and about the betrayal of people you trust and hold most dear.
Had I stopped at the beginning, thinking this book was something else entirely, I would have definitely missed out on a very satisfying read. That the book was well edited was a big plus. I know I’ve been deliberately cryptic, but had I not, I would have had to label the review as a spoiler. I’ve got scores of books to read people! 😁😁 -
Is there suspense and lots of twists to this story? Yes, indeed there are. That's partially why this book earned 3 stars. It wasn't a boring story by any means. However, the romance part of the book left me a little cold. There's this taboo topic of swinging. That's how our H/h meet. Both married to other people. They go to this swingers resort in Jamaica and while she claims she was pushed into it by her husband because he promised to give her baby if she went through with it. Really? And then it was hard for me to believe she was married to this man for over a decade and had no sense of who he really was..mainly, his character. She was so in the dark! Then, I did not really buy how deeply Noah fell for her even during their time together at the resort. I still was trying to figure out what his deal was. He was the experienced one in the whole swinging scene with his wife, Giselle. Again, we have another situation where he wasn't too heads up about his wife's character either and all the secrets she had during their long marriage. I mean, I was floored that he was a private investigator by trade and he was such a moron lol Wow, get another profession, man. I wouldn't hire him haha Anyway, the book was okay, I guess, just the circumstances of the relationship between Raquel "Rocky" and Noah's romance was kind of weird to me. If you enjoy drama and suspense though, this may be a good read for you.

4.5 stars!
When I first started to read, I wasn’t sure if was going to like the plot. I decided to keep an open mind. By the 2nd chapter, I was sucked in! The twists and turns is the story not only got better but they seemed to never end. Definitely kept me on my toes.
I’m glad I kept an open mind. Highly recommended! -
The way this one started, there's no way you would have thought it would take the turn it did.
That's a good thing though. I just wish some of the awesome hotness you're introduced to here @ the beginning, made more of an appearance as the story developed too.
This was still an awesome read and I was happy with how things came to a close for Raquel and Noah Lord knows they deserved it. -
Desperate to have a baby and save her crumbling marriage, Raquel agrees to vacation with her husband Alexander at a “swingers” resort.( Huge red 🚩 by the way). Alexander suggests swapping spouses with another couple (Noah and Giselle). Raquel is at first against this idea. However, she finds she has an intense attraction to Noah. Following through with her husbands plans, Raquel releases all shame and opens up to Noah. She finds he brings out a part of her that she didn’t know existed. She realizes how horrible her husband has treated her and that their marriage is over.

Im so upset that I waited so long to read this. You definitely have to be open minded and not judgmental when reading. I got hooked from the very first sentence. It definitely lives up to the the phrase “The love of money is the root of all evil ”. It had lust, greed, betrayal, mystery, suspense and drama. I was left with my mouth dropped open more than once. Raquel and Noah will leave you blown while rolling your eyes. I thought “You’ve got to be kidding me” so many times , I lost count LOL!This story had me on the edge of my seat. So many twist and turns that I didn’t want it to end. I definitely recommend reading tthis book. -
Enjoyed this book
I love a eomance so when you through in a little suspense Im ecstatic. Niah was hot and he brought out the fiestiness that laid dormant in Raquel.
Definitely worth the read. -
Lies and more lies
OMG!!!! Alexander was combing and deceitful and the fact that he lead Raquel on for all those years . Am not into violence but he got what he deserved. He caused a lot of chaos in their lives by being selfish and self serving. Who would think someone in a swingers situation would cheat. That Jana was evil and vindictive she just goes to show just because you are education doesn't mean you can't be a pycho. -
Ooohhhhh, the drama!
I have never seen people go to these great lengths for money! OMG! The deception, conniving, greed, jealousy and hatred from these characters was just pure evil! You knocked it out of the park with this one! Whew! Glad to see Noah and Rocky find happiness, after all that mess! Loved it! 👍👍👍 -
Fantastic Book!
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed Raquel and Noah journey to love! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between them! Such a fantastic book! -

4.5 Stars
A very good read, defiantly recommend this book -
If your husband says the only way he'd consider starting a family is if you adopt a swinging lifestyle, I would call that a 🚩🚩🚩, but for some reason Raquel Vincent saw it as a sign of hope. *deep sigh* The one good thing I can say is that she wasn't the only dumb and gullible character in the book. Homegirl had company. Lots of company.
On the road to making her deep desires for motherhood come true, Raquel partners with Noah on a swingers retreat. Noah is also the owner of a private investigation firm, however it took him a ridiculously long time to discover how duplicitous and murderous his wife Giselle truly was. I can say I was surprised by the direction how the deceit aspect of the story played out. Unfortnately though this became a typical episode of Snapped.
The love scenes were fire. I felt the heat between Noah and Raquel, but I can't say I felt any kind of connection between them outside of the bedroom. Mostly because the two did a lot of inner monologuing and self-reflection. I would have liked to see more action just in general, more scenes of them doing rather than telling. And I was going to nitpick about Raquel falling into the damsel in distress category, but I reminded myself it is rare to see black women portrayed in that light when it comes to movies, tv, even books at times. We're always depicted as being strong, magical negroes, the conscience of white leads. So this time I'm making an exception that she didn't have much to do besides waiting to be rescued. She had umph to her personality when needed, but she did spend an inordinate amount of time feeling sorry for herself. Understandable in terms of finding out her husband wasn't sh*t to a degree she didn't see coming. Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable read. -
4.00 Stars. (BW/WM). A Kindle Unlimited Edition e-book. I thoroughly enjoyed this short well written gem, it is different, atypical and unusual with a storyline that embodies the book’s title. In my opinion, a large part of enjoying the storyline is the surprise of discovering the central theme underpinning the motives and actions of the principle characters. With that in mind, I will avoid disclosing anything that might take away anyone’s ability to have the full effect of discovery. The heroine, Raquel Vincent, is a high school student councilor in a failing marriage whose husband, Alexander Vincent, is a senior financial analyst with a roving eye for the ladies. Raquel thinks having a baby will save her’s and Alexander’s marriage, Alexander vehemently disagrees. The hero, Noah Palmer, is a multimillionaire and the owner and CEO of Palmer Investigations, he is married to Giselle Palmer, a stay-at-home wife. This couple is childless and seemingly is happy with their lifestyle. Events happen that bring these four into close proximity creating situations where they interact; thus, parts of the story is told from the prospective of each of these 4 characters. Aside from a bit of romance, the story has lots of drama including attempts at murder; yet, the happy ever comes to Raquel and Noah.
