Hope Roberts for President -- or not? In the third book in Alyssa Milano's funny and relatable middle-grade series, Hope is running for sixth grade class president, with her friend and campaign manager, Grace, by her side. But in her effort to win over her classmates, Hope makes some promises she can't keep. Can Hope make things right with the students of JFK Middle -- and maybe still win the election, too? Hope's relatability, kindness, empathy, and can-do attitude will inspire a generation of do-gooders. This series is a response to the very palpable feeling that not only can young people save the world -- they will! This story will tie in perfectly to the 2020 presidential election and include Hope's tips about voting and elections in the back of the book!

Project Class President (Hope #3) Reviews

I'm not sure why I keep reading these books. They aren't all that fantastic, are being published awfully fast, and are clearly not all that popular. I can definitely understand where Milano is coming from with writing this series. Unfortunately, each of the books falls a little bit flat of how I prefer middle grade literature to read. The challenges Hope and her friends face are definitely realistic, but they always get resolved in a way that is wrapped up almost too well. Hope encounters very few challenges outside of the main conflict of the book, which is something I find a little unrealistic. Surely there would be other challenges outside of running for sixth grade class president?

I am very curious to know how this series is going over with the audience it's geared for. I haven't had much luck with students checking out this series in my classroom library and I haven't heard much feedback about this series at all. It's a bit surreal that this book has been out almost six months (at the time of this writing) and I will be the first review of this book. That tells me something about this series right there.
