Sloan has been keeping him away from business meetings, and Conall begins to wonder if Sloan is growing bored of him already.

As a peace offering, Sloan decides to take Conall to Miami for Christmas. Getting away from the cold winter weather is the perfect way to relax and help Connall forget everything that’s happened. ★★ — 2 Stars!

I knew what I was getting myself into and somehow I’m still disappointed. And WTF was that ending!

  • Chris

Really enjoy the dynamic between Sloan & Connell... tough guys who don’t verbalize emotion but it’s all in the action. Sloan is perfect for Connell and is just what he needs.. throw in a little mob boss gang style and it’s quite the scene ! Looking forward to the next installment

Wonderful addition to the first book, which sees Conall and Sloan's relationship deepen.

Conall was raised with an abusive father who said men don't share emotions and to keep their emotions hidden and buried deep, so when he feels that Sloan is leaving him out of his meetings when he didn't before, Conall is mad about that, but he refuses to say anything to Sloan and it causes some strain.

Conall is tired of being cooped up all day, though, and it's snowing in the Hamptons, so Sloan suggests they go to Miami for a vacation for Christmas coming up.

Terrance is there as well, and Sloan provides Conall with some closure on some personal things as well.

These two gain a deeper connection with the talking, though, and establish that they are in a relationship, not just a master/pet fucktoy thing. They still haven't said "I love you" but there was talk of it on Conall's end with his brother and Sloan has briefly touched on the thought and feeling before, although he still maintains that love isn't real. Uh huh, sureee. ;) I dunno if we'll visit these two again, but I'd love to, because I love these two together so much and I want to see these two get to say "I love you" to each other and such.

Great addition to this series and I can't wait to move onto the next. Two thumbs up from me!

    The Boss's Christmas
    By M.D. Gregory

It's been months since Toscani tortured Conall, and Sloane is worried about him. Conall seems quiet, but angry. Yet he refuses to tell Sloane what's wrong. Sloane is worried Conall blames him for letting Toscani kidnap him.

Sloane decides to take Conall on a vacation to Miami for Christmas to cheer him up, let him spend some time with his brother, a murder or two thrown in, and to give him a special gift. A gift Conall isn't sure he wants.

I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed The Boss.

I honestly thought this was a really good extended epilogue/short story that added a lot to the original book.

    Okay but why

This books is more like a 3.2 star read, maybe, if I squint my eyes hard enough, but... Look as mean as this is about to sound, this could have been an email.

Let me be clear about something, I actually like this author. I really liked this series, and I even greatly enjoy these characters but child, if this was a 1.5k newsletter exclusive, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But it's not. It is a 2.99 96 page novella that people may have asked for, but we certainly did not need.

I get this is supposed to be our HEA. The first book didn't exactly have one but if memory serves me correct, it didn't need one. How it ended is as close to an HEA that these characters and the lives they live were gonna get. Conall and Sloan are not good people, they still aren't good people, and they do terrible things. Somehow it works and their story felt complete and finished. So tell me why this book, our HEA, was two steps forward and seven steps back? Help me out sis because I'm struggling here.

Conall has some serious trauma that he is dealing with from the first book, understood. But his actions and the reasoning and the why's we were given, the girls weren't adding up. Even Sloan and his fine self still had me sus. It was a lot. I understand why this wasn't pure fluff but I think that would have worked better then this push and pull we were supposed to be done that morphed into what I guess was a resolution but not really.

Like all jokes aside, that scene at the 80% mark that I knew was coming, but desperately wanted to be wrong about, completely derailed this for me. It's a personal matter and I know a lot of people don't mind but for me on page heavy violence against women, on top of how women are already treated in this series... I get they are evil mobsters but did that seem really need to be as long as it was? The answer is no and that is the hill I will die on.

Other than that it was fine and pretty hot at times so I'll stay in my lane. I'll still read these books because I'm trash and I still like the characters because I have a problem. But 3 stars because which I'm not mad that she's here, and I know a lot of people were waitin for her to show up to the party, I'm just confused why she thinks that means she can act a fool.

This was a short vignette of the vacation that was mentioned in the first book so I went ahead to see how the relationship in the early stages grew. I liked this book more in one aspect and didn't really like it in all the others. I did like that Sloan was stronger toward Conall in this one and felt like the relationship was strengthened by his actually getting mad and punishing Conall for real. That said, Sloan then blew it by giving Conall the job he gave him. Conall has no business in that position. He was barely able to handle the job he did have at the lower level. He was constantly impressed by other changes made by stronger managers and thought to himself that he never would have thought of that or had to have basic managerial concepts explained to him throughout both books. He is in no way ready for what Sloan gave him. This is just a recipe for disaster. Finally, the whole Christmas present wasn't my cuppa and seemed over the top and unnecessary. Can't really say that I'm all that enamored of Terrance either after the first two books. Bleh.

Just love these two, tough yet loving guys. ( not calling each other babe or baby)
    Looking forward to more.

    Perfect

I dunno how a mob boss and a mouthy pet stole my heart, yet here we are.

I love both of these men and the couple they make together.

In this short we have two people who don't want to admit that they have feelings cause that would be weak or something. I'm hoping that they get there someday.

  • Jess

Mmmm… I’m a bit conflicted about that one.. that Christmas present was really dark and the protagonists are kind of sick. That was such a turn off… went a bit too far in the dark….

  • chrisp mcgee

Why can’t mafia men have puppies for Christmas gifts sigh

  • Kira Grace

    So deliciously dirty

Ugh I love this series SO much! It’a dark, dirty and possessive but also sweet and needy. I can’t wait for the next book!

  • Elin

Who doesn't love a little soft mob boss and his pet with a spine. I know I do. And the little Christmas story will carry me over until the next book comes out.

  • Maureen

A marvelous novella to follow the story The Boss. This follows after Conall's capture and torture, Sloan decides to take him on a Christmas holiday. Emotions are rife and Sloan puzzles over the anger Conall seems to express. This ends too soon, these two are almost the hottest couple I've ever read, their uninhibited sex is crazy, but I loved it. Wonderful stuff.

The epilog we disservice to have

I really liked reading to what happened after all the adventure they had with the Italians. Although they did kovebon they had their own issues. I wish Connall was more open with his feelings from the start. Sloan was there for him and to bring out the true feelings.

    Dark but so good!

This is a well written dark romance! This book is not a stand-alone. It should be read after reading the Boss which is Book 1 in the series. No spoilers but if you appreciate unrepentant bad guys....then you should enjoy this book and series!

  • Amber

    I loved it!

This was a great addition to the series! I loved getting to see more of Conall and Sloan and how there relationship is progressing. I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

I absolutely LOVE this book the characters are amazing, it was bit an Insta live story and it has some humiliation mixed in but as far as dark romance goes it angst and in line with the authors signature story line. I am addicted to these series.

A vacation for a mob boss

When you go on vacation with a mob boss you have a very different time than most people. Another fun addition to this mm series as a novella away from the main story line this shows a bit of a different side to Sloan as he takes Connall to Miami.

  • soda

conall was such brat that i rolled my eyes so many times. 🙄 sloan was just…sloan. i don’t know why but he cracks me up since i still don’t see him as a scary mob boss at all. i’m still going to continue the series though…i really want to get to the third book. 🤩

    Great follow up!

I love Sloan and Conall and seeing their beginnings and early time has been great. Conall is so sassy, he's the perfect match for Sloan. A fun and dynamic companion novellas
