His dreams and ambitions came true when he got handed the command of his own Tier 1 unit— Team FIVE. After that, he wanted nothing more than to find that one special woman to share the same deep soul love and devotion his parents had. All his life, Gabriel watched his parents, saw the connection they had together, and wanted the same thing for himself. That came true the day he came across a petite Pixie on a sand dune. With just one look at the stunning tiny woman, his world shifted, and the ache of wanting to be part of something special eased. Devon Mercy never had it easy. At the tender age of five, she lost her mother in horrible circumstances, yet on the same day, there was even more trauma to rock her and her family, changing their lives forever. Her whole life had been a lonely battle. The love of her mother now gone as well as the support of her grief-stricken father. All she had were three overbearing brothers and a wish to be loved and cherished. Then, she met Gabriel. Suddenly, she thought it was finally her time! Someone who loved her, wanted to spend time with her. Just her. Of course, life was never as easy as you wanted. Gabriel and Devon’s road was never going to be easy. His dangerous job and Devon’s secret just two obstacles in their way. The only problem was whose is more destructive? And can it be overcome before one walked away for good?

Gabriel (Wounded Sons, #1) Reviews

We absolutely loved this story from beginning to end and everything in between.I am so glad that the author decided to do a next generation series as we hated leaving the characters of the Wounded Souls behind as they are all embedded in our heart and we miss them so much.

One thing that comes to mind is that Gabe is his fathers son in all the ways that count. We loved Gabriel and that he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps but, one thing is for sure is that his father is a bit of a legend and he is determined to create his own with shear hard work and fierce determination.

I love how close the Wounded Soul kids are with one another and how they love their families so deeply it makes you heart sing and even though now the founding members children of that charter are sitting at the table now the presence of Booth,Deck,Mannix,Steel and Creed is still very much alive.

We love to that we got to see a glimpse of all our favorite characters and to see that those amazing men are still so much in love with their women decades gone by.We miss the Flock ! Lol

Leave it to Gabriel to fall for a women who comes with a whole lot of complications but, one thing was sure was that from one chance meeting with Devon he new from the onset that he had met his one and only. I loved the nickname that he gave Devon as it was just perfect for her and we loved hearing it come off those sexy lips of his.

Gabe was one of those characters that you fell instantly in love with and for us it was just that way.I loved everything about that man from his duty and honor but, was his big old heart that made us fall and fall hard for him.

Devon was one of those characters that your heart went out to time and time again as she experienced so much pain and suffering for someone so young and even though she has been trying to deal with her past and feelings she is still struggling but, once meeting Gabe for the first time in a really long time she feels protected and loved and no longer lonely.

We loved Devon' s and Gabe's story as it was heartfelt and emotional and messy and they had some really great chemistry but, also a love that would stand the test of time.

" We are loving the fact that we are falling as fast and as hard in love with the offspring of the Wounded Souls as we did with the fathers....."

"We loved this fierce and protective man to the point he melted our heart !"

    5 amazing stars from us

    Gabriel.
Great googamogga was this book hot 🔥 totally melted right off the page. When I found out that Leah Sharelle was going to do a next generation of the wounded souls I did a happy dance because I didn't want the series to end . There's not a lot of books that I've read over the years that have had a profound effect on me I can honestly only name a handful and the wounded souls series is one of those so you can imagine how ecstatic I was to hear that the kids of wounded souls were getting their own books.
Gabriel is the son of the president of wounded souls Vincent Booth and his old lady Stella Gabriel an only child grew up to be one hell of a man who followed in his father's footsteps and joined the army and went on to become a green Beret and lead the team five commando's as his father did before him . He not only accomplished that dream but so did Bastion and soon Cole both son's of the wounded souls. While home for a short stay he runs into a beautiful fiesty woman who has been through hell and back after witnessing her mother's Death in a tragic car accident which Devon was also in and just a small child at the time ,that same fateful day she was given yet another blow that would set a course that would eventually make her into the person she would become and lead her to the man of her dreams Gabriel . I loved this book so much it was insightful and you could tell how much research that Leah put into the book in regards to the Australian Army, Air Force etc. The hell that our men and women who fight for our country who sometimes don't come back whole or if at all . The sacrifices they make as well as the loved ones Left behind is truly commendable and more should be done to thank these wonderful people. This book will continue on to Bastions story and I can't wait to see what happens with that firey soul . This book is a Five star read from me and will definitely be buying this in paperback as soon as it's available.

Well Hell on a insta-love Harley Davidson.

This book was actually quite endearing.
You can tell, even without the Forewords, that Leah has done her research on Australian Military.

The Wounded Sons follow in their fathers footsteps, in everything from love; loyalty; the club; and almost all of them serve.

One devastation after the next has left Devon at an impasse. Her entire life has come down to one defining day, two moments that changed everything. But Gabriel breaths life back into her.

Home from another tour, Gabriel just wants a little time to himself before going home. What he didn't expect was a sassy little "Pixie" to knock him off his feet.

I mentioned before, this is definitely an Insta-Love kinda book. There's no angst, no drama (between the couple) it just flows. And for them, it works.

I laughed so hard periodically that those who shared my class probably thought I was a little cooky, but Devon is a hoot!

The snippets of Gabriel's first years in the army gave the character substance, separated him from any preconceived notions that may have been present.

If you've read the Wounded Soul's series, that's gonna give you a leg up and some hardcore brownie points. If your like me and haven't, Leah drops easter eggs like its no bodies business. Finding Gabriel's place and understanding whats come before is pretty smooth sailings. Although, reading the rest is probably worth it too. Or not. Your choice. 🤷‍♀️

I also loved this book for the fact that I'm a Ballarat girl, knowing what I know about my town I could picture exactly where things happen, when "in the town". Having a book world be set at home, written by a local just makes it that much cooler.

It is no secret that I absolutely love every book Leah Sharelle has written and Gabriel did not let me down.

Gabriel is the only child to Booth and Stella (His Honey) and has followed in his father's footsteps and became a Green beret.

Devon has not had a easy life. After tragedy strikes her 3 times she is left feeling alone, like a burden and unloveble. Until one sunny day on a sand dune fate gave Devon a lifeline in the form of a tall, hunky soldier.

Life isn't that easy though. Can Devon and Gabriel work the roadblocks that keeps getting thrown in front of them?

This book took me on a serious rollercoaster of emotions. One of the many things I love about Leah's books is you can see how much research she puts into each story and that stands true for Gabriel as well.

Well done Leah. I can't wait for the next book.

  • Iona

Well ....her highness Leah Sharelle has blown my world with Gabriel! I thought his dad, Booth was my favourite but....he raised a fantastic man! He has all of his dad but bits from every original member of wounded souls.

Devon wasn’t looking for a hero but she found it in Gabe “Tank” Booth.

    “Falling for me already Pixie?”

You can’t help but fall in love with them. Having been a military wife for nearly 20 years...I’m so pleased that Devon was portrayed as a strong partner. Her attitude and actions were totally reflective of the beat way to act.

I wish I could give this book 10 stars!!! Please, do this brilliant book justice and read it!

  • Kim Richards

    OMG...……………………………………………..Brilliant Book
I was pulled into this story from the get go, that is where I stayed until I had read every single word that was written.
There are twists, turns and surprises, awaiting you in the pages of this book. Some of the surprises you may see coming, some you won't. Some are large while others are small, but each and everyone is equally important to the story. They all have a hand in making the book the awesome read that it is.
The emotions that the characters go through, can be felt, in fact I went through them along with the characters, so I got more frustrated than they did, I got annoyed and yes I cried. I was once told if you cry along with the characters in the book, then the author had done a fantastic job in telling the story.
I wish I could give this book more than five stars as it so deserve more.
Leah Sharelle is one of my favourite authors, I love her books.

  • Nicola

Wow. I do not think I’ve read a better first book of the 2nd generation! EVER!
Miss Leah knocked this one outta the park!
Gabriel was holy shiteballs alpha hot and Devon! Man I want to be her best friend just so can listen to her ramble all day.
You will absolutely not be disappointed in the first book of the Wounded Sons
    100% 5 star recommendation!!

  • Sophie Ruthven

This was a new to me author.
Gabriel is a start to a new spin off series and was great although I wish I had had the time and money to read the parents series first as a few things would probably make more sense.
    The heroine cracked me up.
Was an enjoyable read for the most part and the author obviously did her research

  • Becca McClintock

    Wow Leah did it again

Another amazing book by Leah sharelle, After reading all the Wounded souls books I was looking forward to reading more about these amazing alpha men I loved reading about Gabriel(Booths son) and following him on he's journey to finding he's forever, Devon she is so perfect for him and I absolutely loved her quirks and all

    Wow!

I absolutely loved this book!! Gabriel was everything I imagined he was, and Devon is such an amazing woman. I cant wait for more in this series!!!

  • Iva DiLoreto

    Loved it

A great new story. The second generation of the Wounded Souls. I loved Gabe & Devon. Definitely an emotional read

  • Samantha (Millennial Life Crisis Bookshelf)

Loving the continuation of the Wounded Souls MC! I was so excited to find out that Leah was continuing the series and the Wounded Souls MC characters with the next generation. After reading Shiloh’s story, I couldn’t wait to see how the rest of the next generation ended up and this story was the start of that and didn’t disappoint! We see Gabriel follow in his father’s footsteps with his career, and much like his father as well, when he meets Devon and his world is turned. The character of Devon was so intriguing to me and I loved her! The combination of trauma and tragedy in her life makes her exhibit the strong behaviors and mentality that push her through and keep her going. When she meets Gabriel, her life changes and she goes from surviving to actually living and it’s amazing to read. It was crazy the way Devon’s family reacts to her spreading her wings and Gabriel was really the best thing for her to not only help her but also support her and her independence. Overall, I loved the book and the storyline, although I did feel the ending was a little abrupt and wanted more! I can’t wait for the next book though!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I was so excited when told wounded sons was being written and had high expectations of how amazing it was going to be, not only was those expectations met and totally obliterated I honestly am waiting now in anticipation for more. Wounded sons 2.0 was all that and more. The storyline was expertly written and flowed really well and was so easy to follow, catching up with the originals was also all the feels.

Gabriel was definitely his fathers son and he holds all the traits and values his father holds dear, Gabriel also wants what his father has, a soul deep heart altering connection with another soul. Devon is gorgeous and deserving of all that is beautiful, she has had life altering bad now she is in need of life altering perfection. Their story will touch your heart and they will emmerse themselves in your very soul.

I would absolutely recommend this author over and over again, this book was perfection and it is something that I would read again and again, it warms your heart the love and affection between how a family stand together and that is what the wounded souls/sons are. I honestly hope you love this book as much as I have. Happy Reading ♡

  • Wendy Livingstone

This is the first book in a new series from this talented author, and to be honest after reading “The Wounded Souls” series, which I adored, I did not know if this spin off series could top that, but my word, she has done it again!! Gabriel is the son of President Vince and his wife Stella, and this series is how these son’s follow in their fathers’ footsteps. Devon has had an horrendous childhood which has shaped her into the person she is today, and she is the perfect match for Gabriel. This is a beautifully written story which has drama, humor, camaraderie, dedication and love, which all had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I cannot wait to read more in this amazing series and highly recommend for all.

  • Suzanne

Wow, what an amazing story this one was!!! Between the concept and the character build to the depth of the story and the research the author put into it, my mind is blown. Once I started, I could not put it down. The connection between Devon and Gabriel was amazing and I love how the previous series is so intertwined in this one. The best bonus is you do not feel lost if you have not read the whole Wounded Souls series. The author gives you just enough meat on that to make you want to fly back and devour the rest as well!
Overall, I really enjoyed everything about this story. The chemistry and the romance but also the twists and turns that keep you on your toes and begging for more! This is a stunning story and I enjoyed every word!

Well done!... I'm a huge fan of every book Leah has written and this one did not disappoint me! Gabriel and Devon are an amazing couple and I loved their story! I loved that we got a bit of the club and a bit of Darth 💖💖 I loved that Shiloh and the whole club had Devon's back when she needed them 💖💖 I'd give it 10 stars if I could!!

  • Vix

The story had a good basis for a romance. Unfortunately it was let down by hard to follow information in the book, and a lack of even basic research into the Australian Army, rank structure was all incorrect and it made it really hard to follow as you kept having to go back in the story to see if you had read what you thought you had before hand.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this one. I do recommend reading The Wounded Souls first, but it's just to make it a better reading experience. Love the author's world building, can't get any better.
    Can't wait for the next.

    HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!
I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED IT! I'm head over heals in love with Gabriel! Lol! I have to laugh because I say that alot. I have so many book boyfriends that my spank bank is full for the year. Lmao! Devon is so sweet and absolutely hilarious. I laughed til I had tears in my eyes when she goes off in her head and just starts rambling and spitting out whatever comes into her mind and when she calls Gabriel Ninja man. She is just so cute I adore her character. But the funniest thing was when Gabriel and Bastian started reminiscing about the trouble Shiloh used to get them into and Gabe said she used to threaten them that Darf was gonna try them up I just about died laughing. Then he says they didn't really know if a ghost could do that or not so they went along with whatever she wanted. LMAO! I knew instantly that I was gonna love this book and that this series is gonna be great because the Wounded Souls was phenomenal. This is a really sweet love at first sight love story. I loved every minute of it. I absolutely hated Devon's brothers, the horrible things they said to her had my heart breaking for her especially after everything she'd been through and had me hoping Shiloh would have kicked at least one of thems @ss or scared the bejeezes out of them, especially Kyle. I was hoping Devon would patch things up with her father. At times the suspense of the guys being away at war was kind of nerve racking not knowing if someone was gonna get hurt or worse. The love that these two have for each other was so overwhelmingly heartwarming my heart was bursting with Awwe moments. I can't wait anymore I have got to start Bastian's book. I extremely recommend this book to everyone.

Just when you think you have the book boyfriend picked and locked in your heart, Leah Sharelle gives us another one to knock us off our feet. As a huge lover of the Wounded Souls MC I was sad to say goodbye to these characters so when I saw Gabriel, the first book in the Wounded Sons and also a second generation I was over the moon. Gabriel is an alpha military man who is a carbon copy of his father, so you know straight away you are getting a man who loves hard and is loyal and protective to a fault. Devon was a woman who had suffered and survived and the reason might just be her own personal ninja. Their story is passionate, heartfelt and at times confronting. Gabriel and Devon will take a tour of duty to show us that family can sometimes be of your own choosing and that love can own you heart, mind and soul. A love story that at times left me breathless and highly emotional. On a side note, the dedication for this story deserves five stars all on its own.

    Beautiful

Oh. My. Freaking. Melting. Heart! Literally, I am sat here swooning so freaking hard! Gabriel is his father's son in so many ways!
I put my kindle down last night at about 70% of the way through this book (I had work, today. Adulting sucks!). Any who! This book stayed with me throughout the day and last night! I could not wait to get home to finish it. And damn it was worth the wait!!
Gabriel, holy shit this man!!! I have no words! And Pixie, God damn! The two of them together! I absolutely loved this book and to be back with the OGs too, was just magnificent!!
Can't wait to catch up with the rest of this series, to date!

    Gabriel and Devon

Booth and Stella’s “baby boy” is all grown up and the definition of what a man should be. Gabriel is the fierce, determined, and focused on his career. Devon is just trudging through life the best she can. Their worlds collide and we see a soft, tender and loving side of Gabriel emerge. I absolutely loved getting glimpses of the original Wounded Souls members and their lovely significant others. The family dynamics brought tears to my eyes and definitely warmed my heart. This was a beautifully captivating, deliciously sensual, and invigorating ride to go on. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Wonderful story!

    Mixed Feelings

This is my first time reading any books by Leah Sharelle. In the beginning I almost gave up on the book. The boasting of their time joining the special forces was annoying. Gabriel was just too perfect with a side of obsessive behavior. Having cameras in every room to keep a eye on your spouse is creepy. That’s not normal behavior at all. The story was okay except for some grammatical errors. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the series because it took a lot of effort for me to finish this one.
