Can she create a new family with an alien warrior?

On the anniversary of the disappearance of Mariah’s sister and nephew, Mariah returns to their last known location, expecting to find only painful memories. Instead, she encounters an alien spaceship and recklessly sneaks aboard, taking one last chance to be reunited with her family.

The desperate move sends her across the galaxy and straight into the arms of a massive alien warrior who is determined to protect her. But no matter how much she is drawn to him, she will not be distracted from her goal—to find her missing family at all costs.

Years ago, when Captain Cestov and his brother argued over the fate of their dying race, his brother stormed out of his life. He has been searching for him ever since. He never expected his search to lead him to a distant planet, a troubled ranch, and a little boy who calls him Daddy. And he certainly never expected an enticing human female who makes him consider putting down roots for the first time.

Neither Mariah nor Cestov ever thought they would find a permanent home. But can their shared love for a child help them to move on to a new future as a family? Or will the ghosts from their pasts tear them apart?

Each book in the Treasured by the Alien series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy HEA is intended for adults only.

A Son for the Alien Warrior (Treasured by the Alien, #2) Reviews

  • Angela (Angel's Guilty Pleasures)

A Son for the Alien Warrior is book two in the Treasured by the Alien series by Honey Phillips & Bex McLynn.

Mariah is determined to find her sister who just disappeared. She returns to the area where her sister vanished and finds an alien spaceship. What does she do, but sneak on board and soon learns it’s a slaver ship. Luck is on her side and she finds an ally who helps her in her quest and introduces her too Cestov. What I like about Mariah is her free spirt and her determination in finding her missing sister and nephew.

Cestov is also searching for his brother. They argued and one day he was just gone. He wants to find him and resolve their issues, but things take a turn when he helps Mariah and they both find what they were looking for on a distant planet. What I like about Cestov is his determination to find his brother and that he realizes that what his brother wanted can happen. He’s also strong, patient, and relatable.

Mariah and Cestov where a nice couple and their romance was sweet. Their search didn’t turn out as they had hopped, but they did find family and in the end made a family of their own. There where troubles along the way that they had to deal with and some unexpected issues and surprises.

I really love the family feel. Cestov has his crew who are family and then when he and Mariah find something unexpected they gain a family and become a family too. It was sweet.

A Son for the Alien Warrior was a sweet sexy read with the cuteness of building a family. I found this to be an enjoyable read and would read more in the The Treasured by the Alien series. They are quick and enjoyable reads. Nice for a sweet sexy time and a getaway into outer space.

    3.75 stars.

A better story than the 1st book in the series.
It wasn’t just about an alien guy need a wife though, there’s a little bit more in here actually! Lol.
You should read it if you like a light and entertaining Sci-Fi romance.

I read it last week, it deserves a review and available on KU.
See that cover? Yes, just like 1st book, the kids are really part of the story too.

    ❤️

This was very good. Surprisingly sentimental and sad, but also sweet and spicy. I'm sold on this series. Looking forward to the next one. Happy reading!

    Argumento:

A son for the Warrior de Honey Phillips y Bex Maclynn libro 2 Serie Treasured By The Alien

I’m a fan of sweet things, this mainly entails consuming copious amounts of chocolate, cake and ice-cream, but, at times, my sweet tooth can also strike in my taste in books as well. When such cravings kick in, the Treasured by an Alien series is the perfect way to sate my hunger. You have the double whammy of some real cute kids, combined by an adorable hero who can’t quite believe his luck.

So far, there are two books out in this series Mama and the Alien Warrior which starts with the familiar let’s-kidnap-human-women-for-nefarious-purposes plot. But, she’s quickly saved by our deliciously, alien (green, scaly, has a tail) hero. But, not before her and her daughter have bonded with an alien baby who was also held captive with them.

The second book A Son for the Alien Warrior has our heroine searching for her missing sister. Her search leads her to stow away on an alien spaceship…where she is immediately discovered. Luckily, the guy who finds her is undercover and one of the good guys and he takes her to our alien hero (again, green, scaly, has tail), who agrees to help her look for her sister.

I adored both these books, I sat and read them in one sitting and it just left me wanting more. If you’ve read Honey Phillips before, which I have, then this isn’t quite her usual brand of super sexy erotic alien romance, instead this errs more on the sweet side. It’s still has some delicious sexy times in it, but, it also has the added cuteness of building a family.

If you love your alien romances, then you need to pick these up. They are great quick reads that will leave you with a big ol’ cheesy grin on your face

This was a really fun and cute followup in the series. While it can be read as a standalone there are a few threads connecting the first book and this one but nothing that would confuse anyone. Both the heroine and hero are searching for lost siblings. The heroine (as crazy as she is) manages to sneak aboard an alien trading ship after her sister and nephew went missing a year ago. She will stop at nothing to find them and bring them home, of course until she meets her mate that is. The hero is a trader also on the search for his missing brother who disappeared one night after an argument and hasn't been heard from since. Unfortunately, (and I hated this part) while they find where both of the siblings were (together and mated of course) they arrive too late and both have passed away. It was really sad to hear this especially since they both died not too long ago. The heroine is in for a big surprise though because not only does she find her nephew she also finds her new half alien niece which really puts a damper on her plans to return to Earth. Then again she was really waiting and hoping for a situation like this to arise so she could stay with the hero who she immediately had feelings for. Cute read and I loved the little pink fluffy elephant like alien monster, I want one :P

  • S.R. Harris

A nice book. I enjoyed this one better than the first one, although I was a little disappointed that this is not a continuing plot, it seems as if each book can be read as a stand alone.

Mariah was a good female MC. I loved her love for her sister. I didn't enjoy that turn of events, but I did enjoy the way it turned out in the end.

    A good read.

I heard this was better than the first book so I gave it a shot.

Don't really know what to say *shrugs*

  • Lisa (A Life Bound By Books)

3 stars. I’d say these are guilty pleasures books, but I’m not liking the idea about being “guilty” about anything I read.

I need to come up with a different word for it.

Also, not gonna lie and say I don’t enjoy all the alien romance. They’re great pallet cleansers and perfect when you need something a bit lighter. Something you don’t have to concentrate on. And these are perfect for just that.

Will I continue the series? Yep!

Recommended to anyone who likes alien romances.

I love how these stories bring different species together to form families. The storyline is beautiful and also bittersweet. My heart was heavy for the missing brother and sister, but satisfied with the ending.

  • Charlotte

*WARNING* story contains explicit adult content
I liked this story better than book 1! Mariah didn't get taken by an alien, she hid on the ship voluntarily! She is one very impetuous and determined female. Kwaret seems to be one of the very few good ones of his race. Cestov is stubborn, but kind and very protective.
This is a sweet story, but it's not without heartache and not everything comes out happily. I think I like this one more for that that reason. The storyline has great build up of expectations, I am super pleased my expectations were squashed and something totally different happened! Well written.

  • Kelly

Oh, man, I like these alien warriors. They're strong, patient, and resigned to living a life alone after the bulk of the females of their kind were wiped out. As it turns out, they're not fated to stay alone like they thought and I LOVE THAT.

Seriously. A warrior who can't control his tail around the person he's attracted to (which sounds weird, but it's seriously adorable when their tail goes wandering off to stealthily wrap around their lady friend's wrist or ankle or waist) and who tries to fight their attraction with everything inside them because they *think* their species isn't compatible with any other species makes my heart happy.

On the surface, Cestov and Mariah look like they're not suited. GUESS WHAT, THOUGH? They are. Cestov might think he wants a nomadic life among the stars and Mariah might be determined to find her sister and nephew and figure out a way to settle down, but the universe has other plans for them. The situation they find on the planet their search leads them to goes a long way toward setting them on the right path.

Aliens and humans FOREVER, guys. I just love when they hook up.

Couple of problems with this series. The men are not described as being very attractive—basically giant lizard people, and yet human women immediately want to jump their bones? What?

Instalove can work really well with, “mated pairs” in sci-fi series if done right, but this one wasn’t convincing and there was no deeper connection established or “getting to know each other” period and so the relationship felt very shallow and rushed.

The H blushed an awful lot for a woman in her (I’m guessing) early thirties that works as a performer for a living. Kinda got old after a bit.

The baby talk in both books by the children is cringy AF. Idk any five year olds (including mine) that talk like that.

    “I’s hungry mama.”

“I thought you was gone again daddy.”

What my (real) five year old ACTUALLY sounds like:

“Me and Isaiah pwayed at da pawk today and he gave me a stickoh!”

So L’s and R’s are pronounced as W’s and TH sounds are D’s (which is common), but otherwise she talks with proper English like most other kids in her class.

Idk why authors don’t just do this instead of making kids sound like illiterate backwoods children. But I digress.

There were also some striking similarities in some of the names and sayings to ones that are already known. Changing the spelling is the only thing that stops it from being outright plagiarism in some cases.

Dinglian hopper= Dingle hopper from The Little Mermaid which too, was a fork used as a comb.
Dahlecs= Daleks aka also bad guy aliens from Doctor Who.
By Granthar’s hammer he will be avenged= By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Wovan, you shall be avenged! -From Alan Rickman’s character in the movie Galaxy Quest.
Whovian= A nickname for doctor Who fans

It had potential and there were some interesting characters, the writing itself was okay, but I couldn’t get past the aforementioned issues. :/

Less alien abduction and more alien stowaway, this second installment in the Treasured by the Alien series introduces us to an entirely new cast of characters—minus one perpetually beat up Vedekian with a conscience, who I hope finds someone to treasure him as well—featuring aspiring singing star, Mariah, and wandering trader, Captain Cestov. Both are on a search for missing family members but instead find each other and everything they thought they didn't want.

    So.

Like the last installment, this story is pretty laid back and drama-free—depending on your feelings about this, it can either be great or boring—and the minimal conflict that is wrapped up so quickly it hardly gets a chance to start. It's the M.O. for this series, and I'm totally fine with that. I do not read these expecting to hit on any serious issues to get twisted up about. I read these for a sweet story with a guaranteed HEA that isn't going to harm the mains in any real way and everything is wrapped up with tidy little bow. (OH, and a very healthy amount of perfectly filthy scenes scattered through and not taking too long to get going.)

And I'm looking forward to a certain feisty lady on a mission getting her story next.

  • Angi

This book was much more heartbreaking then I expected it to be.

Basically this is about a woman who’s sister and nephew went missing a year ago. While searching for them she stumbles upon a spaceship and in a rush decides to hide on it because it might be the reason her sister went missing.

    [SPOILER]

What makes this so very heartbreaking is that we always hope for her to find her sister but sadly that’s not the case. They are never going to be together ever again. That broke my heart.

    [SPOILER ENDE]

Another reason this felt hard hitting for me and also a reason it took me so long to finish this, is that later in the book she and our hero have to make some very important decisions and they are both not very happy with how it seems to turn out or would be the best.
I like however, how the situation is handelt in the end which made me still give this 4 stars

I am looking forward to book 3 and hope it won’t be that sad.

  • Lisa

This book is just awful. The alien main characters looks are not really explained enough to get a clear picture of him in your head, but if the cover is what he looks like then the idea of these human women lusting after them is just gross. At one point he is said to look reptilian so basically these woman are lusting after a iguana. Gross and beyond disgusting. He even has a tail that he you know what's her with. I hope he didn't have it resting on the floor at any time before hand. Gross!!!!

I was given this book to read and review. I wish I had said no like I normally do with these kinds of book. I really do. Don't read this trash you will only regret choosing to do so.

    Full of warm fuzzies!
I love this story! Although our heroine has some close calls, luck is with her. Mariah is desperate to find her sister, Judith, and her nephew, Charlie. Along the way, she finds the love of her life. Cestov is a sweetheart! That tail just can’t resist touching Mariah. What an adventure they have! It’s an excellent book, with a delightfully heartwarming conclusion. You’ll meet many interesting characters as you make your way through the story. I couldn’t ask for a better holiday treat!

The Mariah, while grieving goes to the last place her sister was seen a year ago. She finds aliens and hides on their ship hoping to go find her sister and nephew. She is discovered by one who is trying to stop the slave trade and he vows to help her try to find them. Cestov has been searching for his brother for five years. They had an argument and his brother left without saying anything. Together they will find out what happened with their families and so much more!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Two people across space have both lost loved ones. Neither no what has happened to them or if they still live. When she takes a risk to find answers she will travel across that space and meet him. Through danger and adventure they will search for their loved ones. What neither expected was for their hearts to find someone new. But life isn’t always easy and their will be plenty of not so happy twists. Expect plenty of adventure and a romance that only grows.

Love the slongas and the cute kids. Although I am not a fan of instalove I liked this story. I’m a fan of both the authors. I love me some reptilian alien alphas. I wish we got to see Cestov in action. He was a warrior. I can’t wait to find out what happened to the troublesome female from the first ship. I have a feeling she’s going to be the next heroine. The ending was sweet and satisfying.

  • Robin

This book is a great second in a series that lives up to the original. The characters are unique from book one with Mariah being a total free sprit who compliments Cestov, a fellow wandering soul. As with book one (Mama and the Alien Warrior), this story is more romance with just enough suspense that makes it a must read. Enjoy!

A Son for the Alien Warrior

I really enjoyed Cestov and Mariah's story. This was a very moving story that touched your heart. The world building was fascinating and the supporting characters were very good. I would recommend this book and this series. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

    Great read

I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. The story was beautiful and the characters were wonderful. Great book.

  • Taylor

    I love these books.

Human men I prefer to be dark and gritty. Alien/monster/other I prefer to be sweet with a gooey center😍 the males in this series are very much that. They put their women and children on a pedestal.

“To our family,” he echoed. “To the ones who are here, to the ones who are yet to come, and to the ones who live on in our hearts.”

  • Jen

A little bit of intrigue and a small amount of drama, but not too much angst. Mostly just sexy times with a handsome alien! This is the story of how Cestov and Mariah find "not a future [they] had ever dreamed of, but one that filled [them] with joy every day."

  • Angelica

Good book, this girl is lucky she was found by the only nice alien on a ship of slavers that she snuck in on. She is a very free spirit with a beautiful singing voice and was fortunate enough to find others that could help her.
