It's All About Learning How to Pay Attention

Although this short work exerpts sections from the author's longer book, "The Art of Noticing, on themes for writers, it's truly for any audience by encouraging each of us to become "quick to observe" by trying to break routines and habitual patterns ignoring obvious things we could be seeing but have conditioned ourselves not to see completely or imaginatively.

This short work can be read all at once quickly, or in can be explored by section, taking time to consider and practice some of the sage advice by in some ways, learning how to see things again as a child---for the first time.

Filled with vivid examples and wise quotations from insightful minds, this thought-provoking read awakens us to abandon the boring rituals of our lives and allow ourselves to see with new eyes.

Like anything potent, perhaps this advice is best absorbed and understood in small portions, so as not to overdose on at once on too many challenging insights. I found a thoughtful review in short sections the best approach to see each suggestion's uniqueness independently.

Having enjoyed these enlightening exercises, I'm planning on taking on the author's longer work as a self-development and improvement exercise for the coming year.

Excellent starting place, and suited for the size.
It wasn't as clever or writing-centric as I expected, but there were still solid ideas. I actually enjoyed writing down an idea from the book, and then sharpening and shaping it into a tangential prompt. So, I appreciate this book for getting me thinking along those creative lines.

Loved it! Some repeats from the full book but I loved it all the same, it will stimulate and encourage any writer. But get the art of noticing original as it's got way more content.

Great ideas packed in this small gem, reminding us that every day life offers writing inspiring.
