Fractured Fairy Tales Reviews

This is a review for Midnight: A Violet Queen Prequel by Cora Kenborn and Lexi C. Floss.

Cyn is a 21 year old woman who is having a bad day, until it gets worse... or maybe better, if we see it from another perspective. She has to substitute her evil stepsister in a commercial, and she isn't in her element. Her partner is the handsome CEO of Midnight Enterprises, Kellen. Something sparks his interest in Cyn and tries to find more about her, but like the Cinderella she is, she runs away before midnight.

Cyn was a simple and honest woman who didn't have a nice life. Despite everything, though, she tries to see the good side and tries not to be fooled by other people. Yet, she still works for her evil stepsister as her assistant, so she isn't able to get completely out of controlling people. When she meets Kellan, who is a billionaire and also somebody who doesn't look for a partner for life, she tries to get as far as possible from him. They are from different worlds, but this doesn't mean that things can't work between them.

This retelling was surprising because while it is inspired by the fairytale of Cinderella, it also spins it differently. So you never know in which order things happen, and it gives is a sense of unpredictability. The issues between the characters are resolved quickly, but that's ok since it's a prequel and it's a short read.

I was absolutely allured by Kellen's friends as well. Sterling and Asher seem like the kind of dark men that you think you know but in the end you don't. Their story will be told in the Violet Queen Trilogy, starting with Avala, still by Cora Kenborn and Lexi C. Floss, and I can't wait to see what happens because I'm sure I'll be hooked.

This story will also be included in the Fractured Fairy Tales anthology and the proceeds will help the Make-A-Wish Foundation, so it's for a good cause.

Fractured Fairy Tales is a superb anthology. I was super delighted to see some authors I already love and some new to me authors. Each story I finished I just wanted more of the story..they were that good!!!

Special shout out to Midnight. This is a prequel to what is coming and I’m so excited about it I can’t wait.

If you like retelling of fairy tales then I highly recommend this anthology.

Can’t wait to read more from each of these authors.

Midnight: A Violet Queen Prequel Review

Lexi and Cora hit a homerun with their story!!!
Kellen and Cyn appear to be an unlikely pair.
The billionaire playboy had finally met his match with Cyn.
Will she fall for his seductive charm or run the other way?
    This is a must read.

Review for Midnight: A Violet Queen Prequel by Cora Kenborn and Lexi C. Floss.

This is a fun prequel and introduction to an upcoming dark romance trilogy set in this world.
It's a contemporary fairy-tale retelling loosely based on Cinderella.
I found this to be an easy and fun read that was as sexy as it was humorous.
Its dual POV so we get both Kellen and Cyn its also a collaboration between two separate authors and got to say it works and was seamless in its transactions, you can't tell who's writing what with this.
I read this in one sitting and it's of a decent length.
I actually liked the simplicity of the romance here almost like the fairy tale it was portraying.
You know boy meets girl and fall hook line and sinker and girl just likes him back it was refreshing and made such a pleasant change.
I enjoyed this one a lot and it gets my seal of approval no issue.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Midnight: A Violet Queen Prequel.

    4.5 stars
There is so much to love about reading this anthology as it is a retelling of some of those time cherished fairytales and fables that one has grown up reading. Author collaborations are a favorite of mine made even better when I get introduced to new ones. In Ella’s Prince by Julie Morgan, the reader is taken into the world of Alice in Wonderland and meet Joseph when he travels down the rabbit hole into a whole new world. What will he encounter and who can he trust? Tick tock, tick tock…. In Midnight by Lexi Foss and Cora Kenborn, readers have a twist on a modern-day Cinderella story. Cyn works for her evil stepsister as her assistant when she has an opportunity to take her place which is where she comes in contact with Kellen. Kellen is an overconfident CEO who is taken aback when Cyn gives him the brush off as she is not the kind of woman who kowtows to a man although she is attracted to him. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and it is a story that should not be missed. This is one collection of seventeen authors to keep you entertained and engaged as you read each story. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

    Review of Midnight
A sweet start to what I know will be ano amazing trilogy by these two wonderful authors.
A story of a modern day Cinderella with a shoe that fit of sizzling heat. This introduction brings us Cyn and Kellen, a book boyfriend I can predict will be claimed by many readers. The chemistry and banter between these characters make for some of the best scenes in the book.
I am loving this pairing of these two authors and can't see where the story goes.

This is a review of Midnight, by Lexi C. Foss and Cora Kenborn. Their collaboration is a modern day spin of the classic fairytale of Cinderella. I was pleasantly surprised that this was actually a pretty tame and light read compared to their normally darker works. My attention was captured from the very beginning. I loved the way Cyn and Kellen met and their witty, tell it like it is banter back and forth . Of course, the tantalizing chemistry between these two is super hot. I loved watching them dance around their attraction towards each other. I can't wait to read more from the Fractured Fairytales Collection.

    Midnight 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I was so excited to start this anthology because I couldn't wait to read Midnight - A Violent Queen prequel, so obviously I had to start there.

Midnight was a fantastic slightly different take on a Cinderella retelling with added darker elements that made me love it even more.

Kellan and Cyn have instant hot as fuxk chemistry, they have a great connection and their witty banter was addictive. They're sweet and spicy the perfect blend of naughty and nice. I loved them together.

This prequel has me even more desperate to read the upcoming Trilogy. The characters have me very intrigued and excited.
I can't wait to see what dark deliciousness Violent Queen has instore for us.
Asher Vaughn has really captured my attention, can't wait for more from him. He already ticks ALL my boxes.

I'm also looking forward to reading the rest of this Anthology, and finding some new Authors. I will be updating with reviews as and when I read them.

The Seven Sins of Snow by Amy Marie - 5 stars
Snow White! And it's not your usual Snow White story, it's steamy and for sure it will leave you craving for more! Sydney is on her own after her stepmother turned her dad against her. It's terrible, as now she has to find a place to live - she finds it with seven boys and she will have to hind herself in this new situation.
It will be a quick read with steam and for sure it will make some sparks fly!

Temptation Tower by Cee Marie - 3 stars
The story started with a really nice introduction of a girl that is locked away and can't go anywhere outside the apartment. Yet she funds away, and she goes out and one of those evenings.
He somehow made it to her and suddenly they were all over each other in a few minutes. This all works for some PMR, but not for contemporary romance
It was an ok story that needs more development and avoid d.isage if I sat connection

Midnight by Lexi C. Foss & Cora Kenborn - 5 stars
A bad day is a misunderstanding when it comes to this day in Cyn dictionary -her step-sister had not shown for new commercial filming and now she has to do something to make it work. When one proposition is given and puts her in not exactly an easy position no one can expect what will come from that!
Kellen is the CEO of a huge firm, and he is HOT, he's also filming this commercial and now he's put into it with this beautiful woman that makes him feel HOT, that he can feel it like it was palpable.
Those two are SCORCHING HOT together, and sparks will fly, I so CAN'T wait for book two!

Dich and pussy by Morgan and Jennifer Locklear - 5 stars
It was a poem! I had not expected that as I'm not a fan of this form of expression. I enjoyed this short poem that was on the fun side with a nice twist in the end

This is a really creative collection of re-telling of famous fairy tales. Some are beyond amazing and others are wildly shocking. Each story was well written and each author took a creative direction with their story. I was please as to see how such a familiar tale could be re-directed into something so different. These are not what I would consider full length stories, more novella length but I can see each of the authors expanding on them later or creating their own series from them. I think that this is a a great collection to "cut your teeth" on in finding new to you authors, I know I found a few to check out. As with all collections some stories worked better for me then others. I enjoyed reading this collection and think others who like re-telling will enjoy them as well. I received an ARC and I am leaving my honest review. 3.75 stars.

A Masterful retelling of classic tales

    A masterpiece in the making.

There have been a lot of retellings of classic fairy tales written but when done right it stands on it's own merits, and baby did these authors get it right. So many fresh takes on some already great classics.

*WILL update as I read more.

Midnight by Lexi C. Foss and Cora Kenborn took the story of Cinderella and remixed it for the modern day and added some sexy spiciness to it. I loved Kellen and Cyn's banter from the start, and I loved how she didn't take his crap and gave as good as she got. The chemistry between these two characters was palpable and electric. This is my favorite retelling of Cinderella to date.

The entire anthology is a definite 5 star must read book.

  • Karen Komarinski

I just finished treating fractured fairytales OMG if your childhood consisted of watching Rocky Bullwinkle Mr. Peabody and Aesop fables you are in for a real treat this anthology is made up of creative retelling a very familiar fairytales some of the style of the dead panAesop fables, Poems and Novelas that have you wanting more; they’re 17 stories by amazing and creative authors and there’s a style for everyone’s taste. My favorite by far is Dick and Pussy by Morgan and Jennifer Locklear; with their Dick Whittington and his cat retelling if you’re not crying from laughing while reading in my opinion you have no sense of humor! It truly is creative and the funniest and dirtiest thing I have personally read by them. The innocent yet not So innocent innuendos put it over the top to really appreciate this Story you need to read it aloud. Well done and cheers my friends. I have never been disappointed in the anthologies done by SaSS as a reader you are brought back to familiar/friends & introduced to new authors supporting a worthy cause this year it is benefiting Make A Wish Foundation. If you have not yet purchased your copy, do it now before time runs out on you. I promise you will not be disappointed.

    Cyn & Kellan

I just absolutely loved this collaboration of Cora Kenborn and Lexi C Foss!❤
Cyn is caught between a rock and a hard place when her bratty stepsister decides to no show the commercial shoot. Cyn is definitely the meek Cinderella when she meets the handsome Kellan. There's an immediate attraction, when Cyn leaves the shoot she accidentally leaves her sketchbook behind with her fashion sketches. Cyn needs her sketchbook back, but is she ready to see Kellan again? Kellan definitely likes to play the field, but he cannot get Cyn out of his mind. He has to find her again, and claim her.
I loved these characters soo much ❤ Can't wait to read the next book 😍

This is a review of Diamond in the Rough by M.E. Montgomery in the Fractured Fairy tales anthology.

I just love this updated Aladdin story. While we all know the fairy tale, this re-imagined version is amazing. If you loved the fairy tale, you will love all of the Easter eggs included in the story, ie: Main characters names are Oli & Mena. This story is amazing, with just enough heat. Highly recommend!

  • Jamie Speck

This is a review of Midnight by Lexi Foss and Cora Kenborn

I just love this updated Cinderella story. While we all know the story, the journey is where all the fun is. Cyn does not realize just how amazing she is since she has been bullied by her stepmother and step sister forever. The sexy Kellen has to really do his work to turn this whole thing around. It was a wonderful ,sexy story ,and I can't wait to see where it goes from here

    Midnight: A Violet Queen Prequel

This is a fantastic start to what is sounding like a great trilogy. A modern day Cinderella story with some great twists and turns. The writing is well done, the characters are well developed and have great chemistry together. Not only do we get Kellen and Cyn's story we also get a great intro to the characters in the next book. I can't wait to see what this amazing author duo has for us next.

  • Bonnie Mancuso

My review is for Midnight A Violet Queen Prequel
    FANTASTIC READ!!!
WOW! Lexi and Cora are amazing together. This is a great beginning to what is sure to be an incredible trilogy. The characters are remarkable and have great chemistry. I love a good fairytale, especially if it's a tad dark and this one doesn't disappoint. I can't wait to see what these two incredible authors have in store for us next.

  • Crystal Wilke

I had the opportunity to read Cora and Lexi's Midnight. Kellen and Cyn are amazing! I really liked the Cinderella tale spun on this. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. Kellen is the white knight but Cyn can stand up for herself. Their chemistry will set you on fire. I can't wait to read the Violet Queen.

  • Melissa Ledet

    Amazing Collection

Midnight by Cora Kenburn and Lexi Foss
Love this story line. Kellen falls hard for Cyn and she falls equally hard. Love their whirlwind romance. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Read five stories rated here. I’ll update when I’ve had the chance to read more.

    Cee Marie: Temptation Tower
3 stars: I really think as a fully developed story, this could be so much more. It was a quick read but given how short it was, I think too much emphasis was placed on the sex scenes. I wish we had gotten more of the actual story of Rapunzel.

    Jennifer L. Allen: Beautiful Grace
3 stars: I really like that the author made this super short story about the development of the characters and I hope she elects to write the full story when she has the chance. I would like to see the actual romance now that Grace has let go of the past and allowed Jonah in.

Kiki Malone: Colors of the Wind
3 stars: this short story kept my attention and I really loved the culture the author brought into it. I know there’s more to the story of Johnny and Smith and maybe the full novel will be more than the politics noted within.

Morgan and Jennifer Locklear: Dick and Pussy
1 Star: I know this is harsh and I’m sorry for that but this poem just wasn’t to my tastes at all. I am assuming the authors meant for it to be funny but it wasn’t for me. I also don’t feel it actually fit in with the rest of the anthology.

Lexi C. Foss and Cora Kenborn: Midnight
4 stars: Kellan and Cyn’s story was so good and I loved that it felt like we got everything we needed, though I would definitely take more.

Fractured Fairy Tales was an amazing collection, by an amazing group of authors! Some of those authors I've already met, while others were new to me, and those new to me are now firmly on my list of read more in the near future. I refuse to go into any detail, but seriously, I LOVE the retelling of fairy tales, but these brilliant folks added a very original spin on them, and I'm blown away. I had planned to read one at a time, and yet, once I started, I ended up spending a whole day devouring this anthology cover to cover. I need so much more now, which has me dying inside, so I pray that all the authors plan on expanding on their stories, or even add more to the fantastic experience. Anyway, I could gush all day, but I won't, so just hit those one click buttons to experience all this goodness for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

  • Maria Vickers

This is a great collection of stories ranging from 8k to 67k. So, there are short stories and a few full-length novels. Each story is unique and inspired by fairy tales. A collection worth reading.

**My own story in the book is an MM full-length PNR novel based on Six Swan Princes.
Max hates his life and the curse he is forced to live with on a daily basis. He pushes his other form deep inside him, only allowing it free when he can no longer keep it at bay. Love and a life without the swan living within are not in the cards for him.

Lorde has been sent to Chicago with one purpose, to get rid of the last swan shifter. Max's family doomed Lorde's, and the rivalry and hate go back a millennium, but one look into Max's eyes and something pulls at Lorde's heart. He was always taught that Max was his destiny, but what if that destiny was to love him and not destroy him?

  • Charlotte Lynn

I love a good twist on fairytales that I am familiar with. This collection of re-tellings was fun. Each author took a fairy tale, adding their own twists and made it a short story. I find it also nice that they are donating to Make-A-Wish.

This collection is not your normal fairy tale retelling. They are twists, some are more current, and most had an erotic feel to them. I would read a few then put the book down and come back to it later. I usually only read one book at a time but with this one I read another book also. It just broke up the stories as some had a similar feel to them.

I enjoyed the twists and recommend this to anyone who loves their fairytales. The authors came together and did a wonderful job of putting this anthology together.

  • Alicia

What a fun anthology! Taking popular fairy tales and giving them a twist and a modern setting must have been a challenge and we have some great examples here. There is variety of length and settings, but all have captured the essence of the original story. A shout out to a couple of stories that stood out for me: Midnight: A Violet Queen prequel, is an entire story, starring Cyn and Kellen. This story by Lexi Foss and Cora Kenborn is so much fun and a a great appetiser for the upcoming trilogy. Diamond in the Rough: Oli and Mena plus a wider cast, is a wonderfully warm interpretation of the story of Aladdin. I loved it.
Overall, a brave retelling of much loved stories which not only serves to lighten the heart, but also benefits a wonderful charity.💖💖💖💖
