Men in the city buy wives. A mountain beast like him claims a mate.

My family fled the city to keep me from being married off to whatever rich man bid the highest. I ended up alone on the mountain, helpless, desperate, and at the mercy of a mountain beast.

He has no need of a wife. I will be his mate.

He will protect me, but I will obey or be punished, and when my virgin body is claimed by this fearsome brute it will be with my cheeks still blushing and my well-spanked bottom still burning.

The first time he took me, I screamed as I climaxed. Next time he won't be nearly so gentle...

Publisher's Note: Kept by the Mountain Beast includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Kept by the Mountain Beast Reviews

    Lynx

A story about a girl and a not so beastly beast . They learn to live together in a dangerous world. I enjoyed the book and p!an on reading another book by Celeste

  • Granger McGringot

Be warned that this book contained dubcon theme, captivity, (sort of) Stockholm syndrome among insta love circumstances (it's hard to understand, I know. I had a hard time trying to explain it myself), spanking, anal, and a sub-dom theme; a lot of things were thrown at once. Don't read it if it's not your cup of tea.

At first, the plot was sort of scattered all over the place and it's kinda hard to follow up on the situation and the world that the characters lived in since the details-slash-explanations was way up onto the mid of the book. As for the smuttiness, it was never-ending decadence. Well, what can you expect when you threw in super reclusive H and naive innocent h together in the wilderness with no one around?

    just..no.

I have as of yet to write an actual review. I laughed the entire way through this book. Not laugh because it’s witty and funny. But laugh because it’s just silly in a super juvenile way. This plot and story line had SO much potential. It was there. I was so hopeful. My hopes were squashed very quickly. If you like laugh out loud silly with the words “cock” and “pussy” and “clit” interwoven every few paragraphs then this is absolutely for you. Otherwise…..just no.

    Pretty good read

They're tales of beastly men that live in the mountains but no one has seen them. Lexi's parents moved them to the mountains to try and protect her from the government that has declared all girls of the age 13 are to be taken to be trained in the ways of being a proper wife and then the girls are married off and never heard from again. Rather then have their daughter suffer that fate they lived with the other families in the mountains. But one day they're found and her mother and father had already planned for this day and send Lexi running while they hold off the men hunting her and they sacrifice their lives for her. While trying to live in the wild Lexi comes across a garden, rather then avoid temptation she gives in and is caught by a bounty hunter. Next Lexi finds herself in a cage on her way back to the city. Just when she thought all was lost a huge beast of a man comes crashing into the camp and saves her. Or at least she thinks. This story involves a lot of spanking and lots of sex if that's not your kind of story I wouldn't recommend it but it was a good read.

    a dystopian spanking romance.

I really enjoyed this book, even tho spanking and anal kink isn’t my thing. It’s set in a dystopian period where girls are taken by the government at young ages to be trained to be submissive wives, then sold off as mates, never to see their families again. Lexi’s family has escaped to the mountains to spare her that fate and she has spent years avoiding bounty hunters.

When her family is killed and she’s captured, she’s sure it’s over for her—until a monstrously large mountain man, one of the mythical “beasts” people whisper about, emerges from the forest to rescue her. She’s only heard the legends but never seen one in person. Her beast is large, with a heightened sense of smell and incredible strength. And in exchange for protecting her, she agrees to become his, body and soul.

I loved the dominance of the hero, the way he claimed the innocent heroine, claimed her virginity for himself and protected her, and the love that blossomed between them.

And I was extremely pleased that there was no cheating, no mentions of the heroes past sexual experiences, if any.

I really enjoyed reading this absolutely splendid mountain man romance with a somewhat dark undertone. It has a interesting, well-thought-out plot & some splendid scene descriptions. The characters are well-developed, strong-willed complex individuals with variety of traits & are incline to be devious and/or dangerous at times & ultimately complement each other.
There is: a young woman (Lexi) trying to survive on the mountain after her family was killed & is captured but after an accident on the way to town a huge brutal man (Lynx) rescues Lexi & claims her as his mate, government scouts, bounty hunters, raiders, rebels, mountain beasts, twists & turns, drama, intrigue, adventure, action, danger, threats, conflict, violence, murder, discovery, rage, rescued, defiance, discipline, spankings, some domination/submission, manipulations, deals, escape attempts, mates, embarrassment, humiliation, training, curiosity, vengeful feelings, explicit steamy scenes, love, contentment & a wonderful happy ending.

It's a dark and yummy read. Beastly delicious. This is a story of an over protective beast of a man who claims himself a mountain treasure - a girl. Expect some dominance and seats and steam.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this one. It was a shorter, fun read. And a new author, for me. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

  • Robin is it summer yet

This book took some work to get through.

I agree with other reviewers that this book was difficult to follow and didn't hold your attention; I also skimmed a great deal of it.

I'll also add that the current trend towards "dark" means that authors who have no experience in that sub-genre are now writing it -- even those who shouldn't. I don't particularly like "dark," but some do write it well; others, such as this author, do not. My advice is to play to your strengths rather than to simply try whatever is currently in vogue and you hope will sell.
