    Ouran is my happy place

This volume was kinda slow but I enjoyed the play chapter a lot!

Another great volume to this fun series. The trick to this series is you can't take anything too serious. It's meant to be fun and funny and not too deep. The twins are my favorite as a pair, but I really love Kyoya. He's such a jerk but deep down I really think he cares for all the members of the host club.

  • Lindley Walter-smith

Not as much fun as previous volumes. There is a continuation of the long, boring, unrelated icky side story with the school rep having the romance with her unpleasant teacher and lapping up the emotional abuse, and two chapters spent on a boring story about Honey's younger brother. There are bright moments - there always are in Ouran - but not nearly enough.

  • Ankita Singh

The old Tamaki seems so much smarter than the present one. Is his love for Haruhi making him crazy?? :p

  • Shyames

Rozdziały o młodszych braciach były wspaniałe. Szczególnie kiedy w grę wchodzą Honey i Mori <3

Not the best volume in my opinion, but it’s still hilarious and omgIlovetheseboyssomuchI’mdying

Not as good as the last volume, but I still really loved it. The first episode in the volume has always been one of my favorites in both the manga and the anime, but I wasn't as big a fan of the next one. I like Chika and I thought there were some hilarious scenes (particularly the scenes about Hunny being an alien) but I always feel really bad for Chika which takes away some of my enjoyment. Plus I think Mori's younger brother is kind of annoying, though he annoyed me less than the last time I read this.

This volume doesn't stand out from the other volumes because a quarter of it was devoted to Love Egoist which has nothing to do with Ouran. All the episodes in here were solid, but only the first one is a favorite.

Also, I take back everything I said about Love Egoist. It is so dull and also kind of toxic, though I suppose that's kind of the point. Teacher/student relationships are definitely seen differently in Japan (or at least they were in the early 2000s) cause I can't imagine that getting published for teens in Canada. No shame to people that enjoy it (clearly I kind of used to) but I just skimmed it this time.

This volume opens with an episode with Kyoya as the main character, so I knew it was going to be a good one. Despite how silly it was at the beginning, it actually added a lot of depth to Kyoya's character, and the relationships between the host club members.

The next few episodes were about Hunny and his past, with his younger brother being an important supporting character. I really liked the Hanninozuka brothers, but I feel really bad for Chika. Hunny seems to have been very similar to him when he was Chika's age, but since then he's accepted who he is, and sees much happier. Hopefully Chika will be more open and accepting about himself and others soon. Mori's younger brother also makes an appearance, but I didn't really like him. He seemed super mean! I know he has good intentions, but it's no wonder that Chika ended up the way he did if his only friend is so awful to him.

The last episode was about the Zuka club. I'm going to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the Zuka club. Their episodes aren't my favorite. Still, I really enjoyed it, and I found it quite funny. I especially liked their fans. Their like host club customers on steroids! It makes Renge and the other fangirls seem almost normal and sane! And that's an accomplishment if I've ever head of one.

The extra episode about the twins was different from what I expected. I thought it was going to be heartwarming, and make the twins out to be more sympathetic. It really didn't. (Don't worry, I still love them though.) It did, however, cast some light on their childhood, and begins to explain how they ended up so messed up. I'm sure they were genetically predisposed to being devious, but their messed up childhood certainly didn't help.

As with every volume in this series, there is so much character development. The characters already seem so real, and there's still so much more development to come! I love these characters so much, and reading about them makes me so happy!

On a kind of unrelated note, but not really since it was in this volume, I kind of liked the Love Egoist episode at the end of the volume. I liked it in a guilty-pleasure sort of way. It was cheesy, ridiculous, and the age-gap was kind of off-putting, but in a kind of cute way! I don't think I would read an entire Love Egoist series, but reading an episode here and there is very enjoyable.

    It continueeee

  • Ada

I really enjoyed the first half of this volume but the stuff with the Zika club was weird and in the the standalone story there was a romance which had elements I really dislike.

Review: I really enjoyed this volume . First the gang brought Koyo to the mall when he was half asleep then he ran into Haruhi stopped a seller from selling counterfeit art .Then Tamaki calls security for Koyo as a lost child. We meet Mori and Hunny brothers . Chika thinks Hunny is a alien cause he's always eating cake at night and Hunny and Chika fight and Hunny stills wins .Haruhi gets kidnapped by the all girls school the host club and Haruhi dad go to girls school to see what's going on . The play is going on and Haruhi isn't very good at singing and the girls found out the host club came to the school. The last part is a short story about the twins when they were kids their Nanny was planning on robbing the twins and she does they give her the code . Their mom asks the twins if they gave her the code so they cried they faked the tears .

Learning more about the Host Club member’s families is so fun! I thought Chika’s issues with Hunny were sort of justified. He may have been a bit too emotional about it, but it was funny how he thought Hunny’s obsession with cake meant he could be an alien. I also thought it was hilarious how in Hunny’s family you fight one another to say hello.

Mori’s little brother (blanking on his name) was super cute and funny. I liked how his tactic to guarding China was super different compared to Mori’s soft-handed approach with Hunny.

Kyoya’s story in the market was cute too.

My one issue with this volume was the Love Egoist story with the teacher and the student again at the end. I don’t like these characters nor do I enjoy the storyline.

It's been a little while since I read the last volume of this series and I forgot how lighthearted and fun it is! The characters are still hilarious and ridiculous in the best way. The situations they find themselves in are so random and hilarious and so uniquely Host Club and I just love it!

  • Laura

It happened exactly what I predicted in the last volume and even then the story kept its familiarity

  • Anahita Solot

تا اینجا این ولوم رو کمتر از همه دوست داشتم.

  • grayi ♡

I really don't like the Zuka club lol and overall this volume felt slower than the others.
BUT I loved the extras. The twins were such a delight, as always.

  • Bee

This volume was fun! I am really enjoying all the character background and developments!

  • nicky

slower than the other volumes but i love hunny and mori’s little brothers’ cameos

  • yare

I kinda like what the author did with kyoya's day at the market story in the manga, i did like how the anime explained his benefit from being friends with tamaki though

also idc, i love kyoyaharu fanservice and the author admitting it was a kind of date made me all giddy inside

This volume of Ouran starts off with Chapter 25
Ootori Kyouya wakes in a sea full of commoners without his phone or any cash. This causes the rich boy to panic because he's hungry and has no transportation. Eventually he runs into Haruhi, who treats him to lunch. Kyouya learns a lot from this experience, what it is you'll have to read for yourself.

  • Sesana

A bit less fun than the average volume of Host Club. The storyline with Hunny's younger brother did nothing for me. And I hate (hate) the backup story with the creepy and abusive student-teacher relationship. I hated it the first time it showed up, and I hated it more with this second part. I hope I've seen the last of it.

  • Kelsey Hanson

Maybe it's because I liked the previous volume so much, but this one fell a bit flat for me. It seemed a bit all over the place without a lot of the comedy that I like so much about this series. Also, I've never really cared about the Love Egoist section so that was pretty dull for me. I did like the interactions between Hunni and Mori and their brothers.

  • Maud

This isn't my favourite volume, I'm not crazy about Zuka-club or Chika... But the short stories were amazing as always, I would really love a Love Egoist manga series! And the short story about the twins made me smile... A lot!

  • Miss Ryoko

Not gonna lie... pretty much giving this 4 stars simply because Haruhi's amazing father showed up again. Holy gods do I love Ranka!!

It was fun to get to see a little bit of Hunny's family history (and the twins' at the end). This series is a lot of fun.

  • Rosenda Sanchez

    So much fun!

  • Carly Pradel

lo ame! amo a los gemelos

  • Eliza

I thought this one was a little slower than the previous ones. Still funny though!

  • Bailey Spaulding

These books have really grown on me since the beginning! The characters and the story feel more cohesive as I keep reading.
