Disney's exciting new animated feature, retold in the very popular format of a Little Golden Book. Page by page, children will follow the story they'll experience as a movie. It is the story of how Hercules tries to regain his rightful place among the gods on Mount Olympus. To do so, he has to prove himself a true hero. All the characters from the movie are here: Philoctetes the goat-legged trainer; Pegasus, the winged horse; Hades, Lord of the Underworld; and the beautiful, duplicitous Megara who becomes Hercules's lady love.

I've been inlove with this story and i'd read it many times , meanwhile Hercules game on PC was my favorite , I think I was in the 5th class .

In this version of the story Disney does a very good job by sticking to the original mythology Hercules. This book doesn't have all the 'silliness' that the movie has in it. (Not saying that isn't good for the movie as the movie is very good, but the story stays with the original story) This is a good version to introduce children to mythology without scaring them. My 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed it.

Ms. Fontes does a good job of capturing the magic of the Disney epic. It is strictly based on the film so do not look at this as a true version of the Greek tale. Interestingly, the real version is NOT for children. Finally, it has beautiful scenes from the film.

Quite a well done shortened version of the original tale, with excellent full colour illustrations.

So when I read these Disney classics it just makes me want to watch the movie. Why? The music!!! "If there's a prize for rotten judgement, I guess I've already won that."
