Who says you can’t marry the same mistake twice?

Certainly not Nya Perez...because that’s precisely what she’s done.

Liam Watts is the bane of her existence.
Her first love. Father of her child. And breaker of her heart.

Oh, he’s also her ex-husband. Well, he was, anyway...right up til this morning, when she woke up beside him in a Vegas hotel room, sheathed in satin and tulle with a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.

If it were just between the two of them, an annulment would be the obvious solution. After all, they wouldn’t be the first to marry and divorce at the little white chapel in the span of twenty-four hours.

But their daughter’s greatest wish has just been granted, and if there’s one heart Nya wants to protect more than her own, it’s Ellie’s.

So, she promises to give it six months.

There’s no way she’ll be swayed by his thick southern drawl, those well-defined abs, or that annoyingly delectable scruff lining his cheeks.

Nope. She’s got it all under control. Six months of playing house, then everything can go back to the way it was before.

But first she’ll have to muddle through marriage with Liam—take two.

    Take Two is a second chance romance that gives you a little bit of everything from laughs, steam, passion and drama. Liam and Nya were once happily married until bad decisions, lack of communication and getting your priorities wrong destroyed it all. Fast forward years later and a birthday wish by their child has these two right back where they started as husband and wife. Liam pulls out all the stops to show Nya that he will do anything to right the wrongs of his past bad decisions. Their story will captivate you and steal your heart. I absolutely loved that the author didn't feel the need to drag us back into the past but take us on a journey of the present and future as this couple show us that sometimes it takes two to make it work and it takes a second chance to prove your family is always going to be your top priority.

    Very cute

    This is a second chance story and they have been separated for many years and they get remarried. The hero is swoon worthy for sure. He's hot and a wonderful father and very funny. I just really enjoyed his sense of humor. Nya the heroine was not my favorite person at first but By ended up liking her. She wanted the divorce and she definitely had lovers in the 7 years they were apart. I don't know about him but it really wasn't something that bothered either of them so I put aside my dislike of that and just read it as it was intended. As a comedy and I did like that part of it. The daughter Ellie is very sweet and cute and I really loved her relationship with her Father.He was awesome. I loved the scene where he is painting her toes and another where he had a welcome to 'womanhood' party for her. It was really sweet and I definitely loved the epilogue. The heroine could be very hormonal and she punished him for something that happened that he had no control over. He took it though. I swear he was an amazing husband, lover and friend. He adored her. I just loved that about him. It's very non angsty and a comfortable read for me. Even though I want my couples to be faithful while they are apart, even if they are divorced, I still was impressed enough to give it three stars. It probably should be four. But Nya was just so stubborn and it annoyed me. But then she'd do something sweet and I just was torn on her character. The epilogue as I said was wonderful and she redeemed herself. Never read this author before but she wrote a delicious hero who is devoted to his girls. Like I said swoon worthy.

    4.5 Stars!

    One of my all-time favourite tropes is accidental marriage. I don’t know why; I think it’s the fact that the couple have no choice but to get to know each other. Whether it’s ex’s, friends, enemies or strangers, the marriage usually starts as a drunken mistake and slowly but surely turns into love the longer they spend together and open up. I love how they don't expect it and it almost blindsides them, it makes me happy when they realise their HEA has been there all along.

    Take Two was even better, because it was a second chance romance for Nya and Liam. College sweethearts who got married straight after graduation and had a daughter, Ellie, not long after that. But, things don’t go well, and they end up divorcing when Ellie is still a baby, even though they both still love each other. Over the years, they develop a friendship and learn how to co-parent, although it’s obvious they both still have feelings for one another.

    Until one drunken night, on Ellie’s birthday, they decide to grant Ellie’s birthday wish of them becoming a true family again and marry in Vegas and this is where the story starts. When they wake up, Liam is over the moon, but Nya can’t believe what she’s done. But, she agrees to give Liam six months to prove he’s changed and that they can now be the family they should’ve been all along. Watching Nya and Liam get to know each other again and fall deeper in love with one another than they already were was such an amazing read and the perfect escape from this crazy world right now. It was funny, hot and sweet. I loved both their families and how they both loved their respective in-laws hard and were so happy to welcome them back into their lives. Ellie was so sweet too, I loved her relationship with both her parents, but especially Liam. She was his little sidekick and it was so amazing to read.

    I also loved the flashbacks; it gave you a true idea of what life was like the first time they were married, and I think it was a key part to the story. The reasons it fell apart the first time was understandable, they were both so young and my heart ached for Nya, but I am so glad that they could work out their differences and try again.

    And Liam, oh my god, super dad or what. It made him so much more attractive. You could feel how much he loved Nya, and that hadn’t changed in all those years. He was so desperate to prove to her that he was in it for the long run, that he was never out of it and only did what he thought would make her happy. Nya reasons for being slightly reserved about potentially losing the civil friendship her and Liam had built were completely understandable and she didn’t want to repeat the past, but the possibility of them being able to rebuild their romantic relationship won out. And let me tell you, Nya and Liam had never lost their chemistry, they were so hot when they finally gave in and broke down the barrier between them, emotional and pillow! 😉

    Take Two was an amazing accidental marriage, second chance romance read, with little drama and no cheating. I was so glad that when it did all start to kick off, they acted like adults and spoke rationally about it, although Nya withholding that very important piece of information was the perfect way of getting Liam back and made me laugh out loud! 😊

    This is my first book by Heather M Orgeron and it certainly won’t be the last. I’m kind of hoping for a story for the secondary characters too, they have intrigued me, and I want to know more! Take Two is a must read, it’s funny, easy, with low drama and the best HEA!

    *I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*

    We’ve all done it right? Gone to Vegas for some fun and woken up next to a guy, married. No? Okay I don’t actually know anyone who has done this but I’ve definitely seen it in movies and read about it in other books. It really does set the scene for a story to reveal itself though.

    Nya wakes up in a hotel room, newly married to her ex-husband Liam. This has to just be a bad dream, surely. There is no way she would make the same mistake again. Truth be told, she never really stopped loving Liam when she decided to end things with him. Nya got tired of feeling like she was a secondary part of his life, rather than a priority. Ending things was the only way to protect her and their daughters hearts.

    Nya and Liam’s daughter Ellie has been wishing for years that her parents were still married and that they lived together as a family again. She was thrilled when they told her the good news, only thing is that Nya doesn’t remember doing that and now she can’t bear to break her daughter’s heart.

    Nya is living in the depths of regret while Liam is embracing this plot change in their lives. In fact, it’s like all those years apart never happened as he burrows his way back into Nya’s daily life. They have been co-parenting Ellie since they split and it’s only now that Nya is realising what an amazing dad he is to her. She is now seeing it in action, something she has missed out on without knowing it.

    Liam has managed to steam roll his way back into the family life he has been missing. He knows that he has a lot to make up for with Nya, the mistakes he made years ago cost him the life he should have had with Nya and Ellie. Now that he has a foot back in the door, he is walking through it and plans to close it behind him, preferably with deadlocks. He has no plans to let Nya walk away from him ever again.

    There are so many laugh out loud moments in this story, Liam is just adorable as a father and I love how determined he was to truly win Nya back. This was a fantastic weekend read that I simply could not put down. Great escapism :)

    Getting reunited with an ex-husband has never been so hilariously sassy! Take Two is without a doubt my favorite Heather M. Orgeron romance. She packs in all the usual laughs and steam and feels, but cranks all of these elements up several notches. Again and again, this author delivers unputdownable reads. Once I start, there’s no stopping. I couldn’t get enough of Nya and Liam! THIS BOOK WILL TICKLE ALL OF YOUR FANCIES!

    This second chance journey takes off at a gut-busting pace from page one. I was immediately laughing at the predicament Nya finds herself in. Liam isn’t letting her off easy, ever again. That man—CUE THE SWOON! He brings his A game with a lot to prove. Redemption is sweet, but ending up happy with Nya would be even tastier. The emotion and heat is top notch. When I wasn’t giggling from the epic one-liners, I was fanning myself from the electric chemistry wafting off the pages. This author’s writing just gets better and better!

    Take Two is an absolutely MUST-READ. This is one of my top romantic comedy reads EVER, and a definite top read of 2020. Get your laugh and swoon on today!

    "Of course, there is a cake. What's a wedding without cake? The first time you and Liam eloped, we threw traditions out the window. That union was cursed from the start. Not this time. This time we dot all of Ts."

    Even though this book is not like what I usually read AT ALL, I found myself fully immersed in this lighthearted, second-chance story. There was no vampires, no shifters, no magic, no petticoats or cravats, yet I still found myself entranced by our goofy hero Liam and our jaded heroine Nya. Ten years ago, Liam and Nya married young but were deeply in love and soon pregnant. Eventually Liam began spending more time at the club he and a friend owned, leaving Nya at home and struggling to raise their daughter with feelings of abandonment and loneliness.

    Ten years later, Nya and Liam are married again after Nya promises to give Liam a second chance at her heart for their daughter. And even though she is still hurt and distrustful of Liam, her heart slowly begins to soften as she sees what a great father Liam is to their daughter and how dedicated Liam is to showing that he is in it for the long haul this time. Their story was sweet but imperfect, filled with passion, laughter, and love. I'm glad the author didn't drag out their separation for the majority of the story, and overall I really enjoyed this story of redemption.

    Has he lost his damn mind? Has this idiot forgotten that we’ve been over since our now-preteen daughter was barely walking?
    ==========
    “There’s no way I married the same mistake…twice!” I shout, breaking away from him to pace the enormous room.
    ==========
    Great. I cross my arms on my chest. “You married me for sex?” “Now, we both know I didn’t have to marry you for that.”
    ==========
    I’ve been paying for that stupidity for nearly ten years.
    ==========
    Since the dissolution of our marriage, I’ve taken on the role of silent partner at the club, handling the finances and paperwork while Chance takes care of the rest of it.
    ==========
    “I did.” She nods. “But only after he missed our daughter’s baptism for some plumbing issue at that damn place.”
    ==========
    I recognize the woman seated by my husband to be the bar manager, Natalie. With a full head of bleach-blonde hair, she’s a total knock out
    ==========
    I’m trying really hard to work up the nerve to approach my husband when a busty brunette parts the crowd.
    ==========
    So, this is how my husband spends his nights…half-naked girls and body shots.

    Take Two is not your normal reconciliation of Ex's by any means. Orgeron took this trope, and put a spin on it. Trust me when I say it was the BEST spin. Take Two was a hilarious Rom-Com that still has me laughing from the crazy antics. It is so hard to find an actual Rom-Com that makes me laugh, and this author accomplished that by leaps and bounds. The witty banter was priceless and so graciously thought out. It complimented the characters personalities to a T. There was not one time the witty banter was out of character. Not only was Nya and Liam's story ridiculously funny, it also held a lot other amazing attributes.

    There was a great amount of determination and redemption seeking throughout the entirety of Liam and Nya's story. One of my most favorite things about this book was how well the main characters co-parented. For me, that is so important. If that doesn't portray how amazingly mature these characters are when it comes to the most important thing in their lives, then I don't know what does. Every single character in this book was a brilliant addition. I feel like each and every person included, played an integral part in Nya and Liam's story. There was this closeness from all of them that gave a great foundation of support that not only included family. It was a great aspect.

    The chemistry between Nya and Liam felt authentic and natural. I could literally feel it pouring from the pages. Their personalities compliment one another perfectly. They think so similar, but are different in good ways. They were like match, boom FIRE! Liam reminds me so much of my husband. Fun most of the time, but can also be too much at the same time, if that makes sense? Nya is a firecracker. She can get you on the one liners real quick.

    With every thing I said, I can attest that Take Two is a GREAT BOOK! I can not wait to see this author's future characters.

    * I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.

    A firecracker of a romance, at once tender and hilarious, page-turning and full on swoon.

    Need a quarantine crush? Liam Watts is everything single s3xy thing you could want in a romance. If you do nothing else to soothe your quarantined soul, you must read Take Two, a uniquely s3xy, deeply resonant, hopelessly romantic comedy. I could not have loved this book more. Liam’s reluctant soulmate Nya, is whipsmart and complicated, broody and living in full on denial over why she’d drunkenly remarry her smitten dreamboat in Vegas. The set up is perfect!

    A firecracker of a romance, at once tender and hilarious, page-turning and full on swoon. Take Two is kindle crack, ornery and s3xy, an immediate reread. But mostly, it's a wonderful pitch perfect second chance romance. Liam steals the show as a desperate but dreamy lover destined to wear the pads of your fingertips down while you swipe ;). His charm and sexiness are only matched by his human moments and full on devotion to Nya. I love this couple and all the complicated fun racy raunchy resonating romance they conjure up. I have already read this book multiple times, and you will too.

    There's summer's eve, grey sweatpants, splinters, mahi-mahi, and that mirror. UNF!!! That mirror!

    Did I mention Heather Orgeron wrote it? Probably because I can’t quit grinning long enough to write a coherent review. The vivid scenes had me rolling with laughter, trading messages with my reader wife, only pushing on the brake to moan, sigh or sob at the really moving bits. Liam is equal parts swoon, smarts and smarm. Add in long-simmering love and you get this over the top lovefest from the queen of funny romangst.

    Romantic comedies are so hard to pull off. It's hard to paint a sexy seductive contemporary romance and keep the laughs and humor at just the right tone. Too funny—and the yucks kill the sensual moments. Too sarcastic—and the romance dives into treacly redemption. And no one likes bickering lovers, that's not romantic, even if it makes you lol. Take Two is none of that. It's perfect. And as the pages flew by, I kept saying I do not want this to end.

    Why did it have to end? An unrivaled Romantic Comedy Gem we'll be talking about at the end of the year when we make our Best Of Lists.

    This is a second chance romance rom-com that was a very easy going read. It was lighthearted, fun and well written. What did make this story stand out was the humour and the constant banter between Liam Watts and his ex-wife Nya Perez. When these two charismatic characters got started, in fact, they never stopped and it was a constant source my giggling out loud.

    I loved the feisty strong willed woman that Nya was, being Latino she had an answer for everything and a temper not to be messed with. The only person that constantly got under her skin and found her Achilles heel was Liam.

    I absolutely adored Liam. What a charmer; cocky and gorgeous, with a big heart which was all for Nya. There was no denying the love he felt for his ex-wife and he showed her in every way, every day. Swoon, what a man...I fell in love with him.

    In my opinion, this story would have benefited from a little more angst to add some oomph to it, sometimes it flowed a little too easy for my liking. However, saying that, when you added the child that they shared together into this story, one who they both loved dearly and didn't want to disappoint, plus lots of sexy times then this book makes for a really rewarding read.

  • Keri Loves Books

    SWOON ALERT! This second chance romance brings ALL THE FEELS and a whole bunch of laugh-out-loud moments. No one does rom-com and brings out all the emotion like Heather! Liam is alpha sexiness and Nya is all sass! You will LOVE them!!!

    They were married once and when Liam screwed up, Nya walked away. It’s been ten years and after a drunken night, her ex becomes her new husband. She’s ready to erase this mistake a second time, but since it’s her daughter’s birthday wish she agrees to six months as a lawfully wedded wife. It’s going to be a fun ride!!!

    One of my favorite tropes and this author delivers a beautiful love, amazing family, comic relief and Epic HOTNESS!!! That bathroom scene...DAMN! These two sizzle. However, Nya is not going to give Liam her heart without making him work for it.

    Nya and Liam have a past they need to work through and a bright future to embrace. This is a feel good romance. It will make you smile, laugh (a lot) and completely fall in love.

    An unforgettable feel good romance. You need this story!

    This is a very good and easy to read second chance at love story.

    Heather M. Orgeron will take you straight into Nya and Liam’s relationship, with their ups and downs, funny banterings, and sexy times.

    Liam and Nya get married in Vegas for the second time to make their daughter’s birthday wish come true. Will their get their happily ever after this time? Or will they are up for a new heartbreak?

    I recommend to read this novel if you are in dire need of a lovely romantic story and a good giggle.

    Take Two was a sweet and sexy second chance romance. It was a romantic comedy at its best and had me laughing in several spots.

    Liam and Nya are a divorced couple that share a daughter and wake up re-married one day because it was their daughter’s birthday wish. They agree to give their marriage six months. Liam has never stopped loving Nya or wanting her back and he is determined to make this marriage last.

    Liam is swoonworthy. He loves his family so much and would do anything for them. He regrets not putting his family first during the first marriage and he won’t make that same mistake again. He is so patient with Nya and he’s such a wonderful father. His relationship with Ellie is adorable. He’s also hilarious. I couldn’t believe some of the things that came out of his mouth.

    Nya is sassy and feisty and not quick to risk her heart again. She loved Liam completely but felt he put his business ahead of their family. She doesn’t want to get hurt again so she tries to keep Liam at a distance, but her feelings make that difficult. While I loved Nya, I did get a little frustrated with her and felt that she made a big deal out of small issues at times. Ellie, their daughter, is their biggest cheerleader and some of the best moments in the book are when Nya is watching Liam and his daughter interact.

    Liam and Nya were truly meant to be together and watching them rediscover their family was a fun journey. This was truly a great second chance romance with a lot of love and laughs.

    Second chance romances are definitely one of my favorite tropes, so when I read the blurb of Heather M. Orgeron’s new release, Take Two, I was all about getting Liam and Nya’s backstory and then reading about how they found themselves with an impromptu wedding and a take two when it comes to making a go as not only a newly married couple but as a family - one that was their daughter’s birthday wish.

    I’m all for feel good stories, and Liam and Nya’s book is exactly the kind of swoon worthy romcom I needed for what has to be one of the most chaotic weeks in my life. It’s clear these two characters have a soulful connection, and while the first go around led to a series of mistakes made that ultimately resulted in divorce, this time around, they’re in with eyes wide open, and even though Nya is way more hesitant than Liam with their new normal, what they share is worth the risk and the six months Nya agreed to, even if it started as a way to appease their daughter.

    I’ve only read one other book written by Orgeron and that was an absolute tear jerker, so to see such a different side of her writing and how fluid her comedic quips and humorous scenes are crafted made for an incredible reading experience - one that I hope to repeat by reading more of her stories in the near future.

    5 Star Review Take Two by Heather M Orgeron

    When I read the blurb for this book I was intrigued. Nya Perez and Liam Watts have a tangled and complicated relationship, he was her first love, the father of their daughter, Ellie and is now her ex husband.

    This was one of those books that I didn't want to put down and is a great example of romantic comedy at it's finest. I spent a lot of time laughing so much my stomach hurt. There were oh so many snort out loud moments that my husband thought I was crazy and I ended up in tears; such was the hilarity found within these pages.

    When Nya and Liam wake up in Vegas they find themselves married, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Not always , particularly since it is Ellie’s dream to be a family again.

    Despite reservations they agree to give it 6 months. Neither of them can deny the crazy and intense chemistry that sizzles between them. Take Two is a story full of love, romance and humour. In fact Ellie nearly stole the spotlight at times although there were moments when my emotions got the better of me.

    One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

    I fall more and more in love with Heather M Orgeron's writing with every book! These characters made me fall head over heels in love with them and their story. Nothing worth having is ever easy. Nya and Liam have history and love in spades. Their journey is complicated and passionate. I was enchanted from the first page to the last of Take Two!

    This is the best y’all!! Heather O. does it again! Perfection People! This book is utter perfection!
    Oh the laughter, the banter, the frustration! The deliciously sexy throwdowns! THIS was the combination of everything I was hoping for and as ALWAYS Heather delivers!

    Nya Perez is this sassy, beautiful Latina and I love her fierce determination to resist her irresistible ex, err...well no longer ex-husband.

    Waking up unexpectedly married to her ex-husband, Liam Watts was the last thing she expected the morning after their daughter’s birthday. But not one to be able to disappoint her girl, and at the peer pressure of both Liam And her BFF, Hannah she reluctantly agrees to give the marriage the ol college try for six months. But only for their daughter, right? She can resist Liam’s charms for six months.
    Prove they are NOT meant for each other and kick his good lookin, texan accent talkin, perfect six pack abs havin, sweet gentlemanly, sexy scruff wearin’ butt to the curb, and go back to the way things are. No problem… right?

    Liam Watts has regretted the way this went wrong between him and Nya for years. When life, fate, birthday wishes and a few too many drinks hands him this second chance, you had better believe he is taking it. When Nya gave him a six month timeline , that was as good as issuing a challenge for this cowboy.

    Deep down Liam knows he messed up, but he has never stopped loving Nya and he knows she has never stopped loving him. He has six months to prove their inevitable connection is supposed to last forever, NOT have an expiration date. He’s not above using whatever he can find in his arsenal to help his cause. AKA that sexy, irresistible smile, or those cowboy abs of steel. He's ready to throw down wherever and whenever!!

    GAAHH! I love this hilarious character y’all! He was so funny, and sweet and caring and oh my god, this man with his daughter. Women everywhere want to make babies with him, ASAP!
    He was gorgeous, sensitive and sweet, but funny and hot and dirty too. He had a Texas drawl for goodness sakes. Yeah! So in he walks and Panties just drop!

    But will all that swagger sway Nya his way for good this time?

    My Cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up :
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐️-Another fabulous romantic comedy by Heather. She is absolutely one of my top favorites a when I need the perfect “swunexy” book (yes I just made that up folks) swunexy= swoony, funny, and sexy! This had the best characters(All of them, secondary too), banter for days and off the charts swoony and sexy times. This is a MUST READ!
    🔥 🔥🔥🔥- Liam and Nya are just straight up hotter than biscuits and gravy. Hot as a match on hay in a barn stall. Yup, that.freakin.hot. Like the devil is jealous of the heat, y’all! 😈
    🌪Cliffhanger Warning- HEA. No cliffy!!It is perfect! 🙌🏻🥰😍😘🙌🏻

    Nya knows better than to give her ex-husband a second chance. But when she wakes up in Vegas in a wedding dress and a ring on her finger, she knows she's doomed. After all, she can't not want to give their daughter the wish she made on her birthday - for her parents to be married and a family again like when she was a baby. So she agrees to 6 months to appease her daughter. She has no plans on letting him have her heart again, though. But you know what they say about the best laid plans...

    I loved this funny second chance love story. Nya and Liam are hilarious and sweet and so sexy together. I wish all second chances were this much fun, this sexy, and this good.

    This is an author you must put on your TBR list!

    This is a spectacular romantic comedy that gave me all the feels!  If you are looking for laughter, heat and a bit of angst, look no further!

    This is the story of Liam and Nya.  This is a true second chance romance.

    Nya is a spicy Latina with no room for bs! She feels her relationship with her ex-husband is the way it's going to be, an awesome friendship and a perfect co-parenting team.  But deep down she still is holding a torch for Liam, but the past hurts and vulnerabilities tend to rear their ugly heads at just the wrong moments.

    Liam!! This is one of the best heroes ever!! Not only is he an amazing dad, he truly loves Nya and will do anything in his power to make their second chance a permanent solution.

    The dialogue is wicked fast and fantastically funny! I caught myself re-reading paragraphs to get another laugh out loud moment! (And that very rarely happens!) So hats off to you Ms. Orgeron for keeping this reader engaged until the very end!!

    This book is going on my list for "Best Reads of 2020"!

    It’s not every day you read second chance romance between a husband and wife who have already been married and divorced from each other. That alone piqued my interest because it was something new - and knowing how this author writes, I knew it was going to be nothing short of excellent.

    I’ll be honest, second chance romances aren’t always at the top of my reading list, but I was absolutely blown away by Liam and Nya. This book had both heart and a heap of humor. If I had a man like Liam - I’d probably star on 19 and counting.

    I highly recommend this book. Easily one of the best of 2020!

    This was such a cute second chance romance! Help me not think about how horrible this week has been and that was amazing. Only critique I would say is everything was a little fast paced and Nya did get on my nerves a little.

    Adorable and sexy all at once, this second chance romance features a combination of humor and heart. Orgeron will make you fall for this hero, whose singleminded focus on getting his wife back is downright endearing. He knows he messed up in the past, and there is nothing that will stop him from making things right this time around. The writing is solid, the characters are likable, and the tone stays light and fun for the bulk of the book with some shots of angst along the way. I loved that our heroine is Latina without feeling like a stereotype, with some great scenes embracing her heritage. Only minor complaints hold me back from calling this 5 stars (more on that later).

    The story follows Liam and Nya, parents to an 11-year-old daughter. They married young and seemed perfect for each other, but dumb financial decisions (on Liam’s part) and insecurities (on Nya's part) caused them to divorce. When their daughter makes a birthday wish that her parents get back together, they find themselves making the drunken decision to get married. Liam sees this as his opportunity to put his family back together... he just has to convince Nya to get onboard.

    Second chance romances aren't always my favorite, but this was written in such a way that it stays light and doesn’t linger on the time they spent apart. They’re just two genuinely compatible people who let circumstances get in the way. Liam is the best part of the book - he’s such a great guy and openly admits that he made mistakes in the past. Two things hold me back from calling this 5 stars, but they‘re pretty minor. First, while the first half of the book is light and moves along quickly, the second half dragged a little bit. I can’t say why without offering up spoilers. Second, this is just something that rubbed me the wrong way but was resolved quickly - Nya has a boyfriend when they get re-married at the start of the book. *Technically* no cheating occurred, but you’d better believe it’s problematic. It was also irrelevant to the story as a whole, so I’m not sure why it was included given how strongly some readers will respond to that - it doesn’t give the best first impression of Nya. That being said, it’s resolved right away and played no part in an otherwise heartwarming book. We meet some characters in this that I would love to read future books about, so here’s hoping there are more on the way. I received an ARC via Give Me Books and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy/sweet romance.
