In the dark heart of our imagination, and the haunted corners our past there are places we fear to tread. As much as we might try to outrun them, as much as we might try to deny their truths, we are owned by their shape, molded by their claws. The story of our being, they form a Sacrum Umbra, a sacred shadow of improbable origin- our own dark heart.

Sacrum Umbra: The Gothic Horror of Amanda M. Lyons Reviews

  • Shanna Tidwell

I’ve listened to and read so many collections of short stories but this is definitely one of the best.
The first 3 stories were the best. The shaman story was my favorite. I wish I could remember the names of all of the stories.
I will be looking for more by this author. I loved the originality. It felt like everything was a new concept even with well known stories.
The narrator, Paul Burt’s voice reminded me of Colman Domingo. He did an excellent job.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.

  • Troy Buffington

The stories in this collection are a lot more erotic than I was expecting. I enjoyed the references to other popular tales even though they were taken to the extreme. Blood gore and sex. Reader beware.
