A Terrorist Group Is Ready To Deliver A Message Through Innocents...
A country does not run on known legal forces only, as Nick Lawrence is soon to find out...There is one unit that operates outside of all normal boundaries of the federal government, bound only to themselves and their job. But to be a part of this unit you need to leave everything behind, for most, including your life....
Nick is in prison and after the depression, grieving all he lost, has finally returned to exercise and back to the strong-willed man he always has been. A note smuggled in his food from old friend Jay, gives him one opportunity to start making a difference again, saving those he has spent most of his life doing. And so through cutting red tape and an extraordinary bunch of people, he joins a unit like no other.
Terrorists have a plan set up which will hurt many by destroying innocents, but the unit starts working it's magic, trying to find out what is going on by whom. A story that shows what a fantastic group of very special operators find through skill, friendship, and a little hope.
Another intriguing story in an outstanding series!!! -
After being introduced to this series with the fifth book in the series I went back to read the first four,in order. Am I glad I did.
The author chose to make it a continuing story. I was really lost reading Murder 8 first. Now the whole progression makes sense.
Great series and worth reading for those who like police thrillers. -
Second Chances
Glad Nick is getting a 2nd chance but the price is high and loosing everything and everyone that you love is hard to imagine. Hopefully he can rebuild a life that includes more balance. Looking forward to the next adventure -
Another Great Read!!!
Shea does it again!!! Nick is back and the team is awesome! Fantastic writing and characters!
The story grabs you from beginning to end, characters well developed.
A must read! -
The New Nick
I wondered how Nick’s role would be continued and I think his role was recrafted (probably not a word) superbly. I once again am looking forward to the next book. -
Targeted Violence
Great adventure with a lot of action! I love all of the Nick Lawrence books I’ve read so far! Bravo Brian Shea! -
Not just another story about school shootings. Brian Shea has the ability to weave backstories and motives seamlessly together in an action packed thriller that puts the reader right in the middle of the mayhem. The Author gives chilling insight into what it is like to be bullied and to what extent victims can be manipulated, in order to find an escape from the torture inflicted upon them everyday.
As with all of Sheas other books; you won’t be able to put it down. -
Nail Biter
With the cliffhanger from book 3, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It certainly wasn’t what this book is about.
Bullying in high school is a hot topic these days. It can lead to depression, suicide, or worse.
Here, it is worse: a school shooting as well as a bombing. With a promise of more to come.
With Nickʼs special skills, a secret organization operating outside normal channels, recruits him with the help of Declan and another man from Nickʼs past.
Time is of the essence to prevent more school massacres, promised by a recluse who lost his beloved daughter to bullying.
Nick and Declan go deep under cover to stop the next incident. Nick is recognized by a man he trusts, and that recognition may cost Nick dearly.
Unfortunately, one of the other operatives also working undercover died in the operation. Nick knows just the person to take his place.
The Seven, from the first book, show up briefly as Nick is being shown the ropes of his new job. They have to be placed on the back burner with the school terrorism threat. I am sure they will be back. They are unfinished business for Nick.
Mr. Shea has his finger on the most terrifying part of American society today. The loss of our children due to bullying, and how the bullying is ignored until tragedy occurs.
Admittedly, there are parts here which I teared up over. Nickʼs losses from the last book. These are still raw to him, and so to the reader.
Thankfully, my children made it through these issues. The thought of a parent losing a child over something preventable is heartrending. This is an important read for that very reason.
That, and the action and suspense which are non-stop, as normal in Mr. Sheaʼs books. Another up all night nail biter. I don’t have any nails left reading these books, but if I did, they would be gone. -
I am really enjoying this Nick Lawrence series even more than I expected. It is so much more than the typically crime novel/police drama. Here is Nick, a now ex-FBI agent who found himself in prison for taking the law into his own hands years earlier, killing five violent criminals who were busted on a child trafficking and sex ring who all got off on a technicality. He had gotten away with it for so long until a rogue FBI agent (who also happened to be the mother of the ringleader of the criminals involved) exposed his crime as an act of revenge.
There he sat in prison for several years until a covert message was sent to him. What occurs from there takes place in the story is what you must read to believe which was an intriguing thrill ride and action packed. There are new characters along with some familiar ones. Just when one thinks the story will go one way, it takes a shift that not even Nick expected. Great story and another highly recommended read. -
A definite must read book and series
And just when you thought you had it all figured out..... In a plot twist that you'll never see coming, Nick isn't out of the game just yet. It's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author. -
I really like the change of direction this series has taken. Keeps the series fresh and interesting.
