Many of you know and love
R.E. Sargent...his stories, especially the Karen Carter series, have entertained MANY of us.
But I bet you didn't know this...before writing a single horror story (for which he's so well-known), R.E. dove right in and wrote a full-length thriller! As a fellow writer, that's crazy to me. I've been "professionally" writing for a year now and I'm still gearing up and mentally preparing myself to write a novel. Mad props to R.E.!
Relative Terror has claws...it's a beautifully plotted, fast-moving, action packed story. And though I ultimately figured out the conclusion, I think all the twists and turns in this story are going to keep most readers guessing until the very end.
For those of you who enjoy a side of romance with your suspense, there's even a "meet cute" in this story. And I absolutely loved the beautiful descriptions of the scenery in Arizona. It's obvious R.E. knows and loves the area.
If you're looking for something quick, fun, and twisty...this is, most certainly, the book for you.

*****Beta Reader*****
With his first venture into the literary world Bob knocks it out of the park. The author has wrote a story that keeps the reader engaged, turning page after page until you're finished and leaves you wanting more! Fast paced and twist or two, I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading suspense and thriller works from such authors as Dean Koontz. I'll looking forward to reading his future releases. -
Wonderful book. Quick and easy read. Definite plot twist at the end (I didn't see it coming anyway). I recommend this book to everyone. Great debut novel R.E. Sargent!!!! Can't wait for the next novel!

Dom’s life has never been easy. Every person around him dies to mysterious circumstances. When his sister is attacked, Dom goes on the run in an attempt to find answers before the killer can find him. On the road Dom meets a woman named Jennifer who joins in his quest. Will they figure out who the killer is or will Jennifer become its next victim?
Full of suspense and plenty of twists and turns. And wow! That ending totally made the name chills worthy.
The narrator had a wide range of voices and expressions which made this book very pleasant and easy to listen to.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. -
A good first book by this author!
This first book was engaging, and reminiscent of Dean Koontz (sometimes I forgot that I wasn't reading a Koontz book). I look forward to watching this author's talent continue to grow. -
This is a brilliant debut novel. It is easy to follow and Sargent entices you to keep turning the page. Definitely an author to keep your eyes on.

Edge of the seat drama
The story line is engaging and as it unfolded the questions began to form. Was he or wasn't he? The characters are realistic and the reader is drawn in. -
A great book. It kept my interest the whole book. I would love to read more books like this.

This author has fast become one of my fave thriller writers! His books keep you captivated and just when you think that you’ve figured it out...BAM! Totally blindsided! This book is no exception...Dom has lost just about every living relative, except his older sister, Nina. When Dom gets the late night call that Nina had been viciously attacked at home, he knows that someone is out to get him. He no longer believes that everyone that he’s ever loved, has died by accident. Dom decides to run, until he’s figured out what/who is after him. Of course, that makes him the #1 suspect in his sister’s case. Dom meets Jennifer while on the run, and she becomes his confidant and partner. Action, adventure and a psychotic killer all make for a spell binding story.
I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. -
Oh this book made me laugh!I know it was meant to be serious, but it was so campy i couldn't stand it.A man has everyone he loves around him die. When his sister is attacked, instead of going to the police,he takes money from the bank, buys another car(lucky they're in Arizona!) and runs.He picks up a chick on the way.She is smitten and pledges her love in 2 minutes. The cops catch up.Andy Packard was a decent enough narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Relative Terror was a good read by R.E. Sargent. Unfortunately for Dominick, everyone close to him has ended up dead. His last living relative, his sister, is attacked and dying. He becomes the prime suspect although hhe fears that he's next. Dom disappears in order to find the answers he needs. He is looking for who has destroyed his family and his life. I can't wait to read more by R.E. Sargent.

This story takes you on a crazy ride. It is full of ups an downs. The author did a good job with misdirection. It made it more difficult to figure things out. Also the whole Detective angle I thought was useless...actually came in pretty handy. I listened to this on audio. Andy Packard did a great job. His little additives really helped lift this story up to another level.

“The script wasn’t written, it seemed as if his brain was writing it as he went.”
I am conflicted on how to review Relative Terror. On one hand, the author does a good job with misdirection, and I did not anticipate the ending. On the other hand, I didn’t care for the ending as much as I wanted to. It fell a little flat for me. The premise of the book was really interesting, I was intrigued by the description, and for a good part of the book, it delivers. I think where it started to lose me was with the introduction of Jennifer. The love story between Dom and Jennifer caused me to cringe as I listened, it was so corny. I’m not big on romance novels, and I didn’t select the book for its love story, so the good mystery/thriller/suspense elements could have completely redeemed this book, but to me, the “love” story overpowered the rest of the book. The relationship does set up the ending, so it is a necessary plot point, and not an ignorable tangent. I think if you were able to invest in the romance more than I did, the book would be more potent.
