House burned down? #check
Forced back to my old hometown? #check
Rumors, drama, and b*tches? #checkcheckandcheck

What could make things worse for me?
One name.

Weslee freakin' Jackson.

The worst of the worst.
The one I'm told by EVERYONE to stay away from.
Which should be easy, right?
NOPE.
He's everywhere I go.
Stalking me? Maybe.
Dark brooding eyes trying to devour me? All the time.

There's just one little thing...
Wes's eyes aren't the only ones on me.
And I think I've started a war.

Oops.

I didn't ask to be put in this position as I find myself gravitating toward Wes.
He says he'll protect me from Hidden Creek High.

But who's going to protect me from him?

What happens when you lose everything that you have, but you don’t care because it was everything that took you away from the only place that you felt safe? From your first true love? When you return to that safe place only to find that everything there is different? That everyone has secrets? What happens when you return to a town called Hidden? Jaxson Kidman delivers a suspense filled, twisty, yet sexy story full of secrets, lies, half truths, & first loves. Not only does the story center around the two main characters, but also the multigenerational secondary characters as well, allowing the book to appeal to a broader range of readers! This story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, then BOOM...the freaking cliffhanger of all cliffhangers!! Kidman has outdone himself with this series!! You definitely need to read this series to discover all of the “Hidden” secrets!! Coleen W

New Adult, High school drama, not dark however trigger- self harm
There is a reason this book title and the town is called Hidden Creek!
So many hidden secrets unfold and some still unknown with that cliffhanger!

I loved the strength of Aria and the loyalty of bad boy Wes.
And I enjoyed the dynamics and LOL moments within the group of girl and guy friends.
A lot of drama at the high school and within family.

“ Darlin’” I’m Going into Book 2 now!

The walls of Hidden Creek High are whispering secrets ...
Jaxson Kidman has just cranked it up not one but several notches with this book. I absolutely loved HCH. The place where everyone has secrets and an agenda of their own. The main characters swept me in from the very beginning. Wes and Aira are the most perfect angst ridden teens I have ever read. Their friends also, are awesome side characters and their antics had me laughing out loud in places frequently. The drama was top notch, Jaxson Kidman has teen repertoire and banter down to a fine art and of course I cried in a couple of places too. Every Jaxson Kidman book makes me cry - they really should come with a warning label. I’m really looking forward to reading more from Hidden Creek High. Congratulations on taking a new to you genre and owning it Jaxson. 5 stars so totally deserved.

Jaxson has done it again! He always makes me cry! Absolutely brilliant! Loved it! Angsty. Couldn't put it down. Read it in one afternoon. It ended all to soon! Then.... CLIFFHANGER!!!

After Aira's close brush with death in a house fire. She moves in with her Aunt, Julia, to the beach town of Hidden, where she grew up in when she was younger. Back to the boy who had stolen her heart all those years ago, the one she grew up next door to.

When Weslee sees that Aira is back, he can't believe it. The girl who lived next door to him as kids. The girl that he'd do anything for to get her attention, even painted the town sign and risk getting caught by the cops for that first kiss, the same first kiss that he never got before she moved away.

He's the rough, tough and scruffy, may or may not have criminal connections to a motorcycle club.
Aira reconnects with a childhood girlfriend Kailey, and makes another couple of friends, Charlotte and Emma. They warn her to stay away from Weslee, that he's trouble, but she reconnects with him nonetheless.

"It didn't matter what his reputation was. To me he was still Weslee." ~ Aira

There's so many secrets around town. Everyone, has secrets, them included, that don't want spilling out.

"The secrets throughout this damn town were only going to get the best of her if she hung around too much." ~ Wes

Of course you have the spoilt, rich, nasty, who get away with everything cause of the stench of money folk that think they rule.
I so hope they get a double helping of karma. They deserve it!

The banter between Wes, Walker, Ryker, Flynn and Leo is brilliant. The guys are tight.
Aira, has some amazing friends in Charlotte, Kailey and Emma (swinging her baseball bat) and her Aunt Julia, who have her back.

Really need to know what happens next.
    Like,
    Right. Now!!

You may be in Hidden... But there's nowhere to hide here.. secrets, secrets
In this book #1 of several, Jaxson takes you on a wild ride back to Hidden Creek High. A terrible tragedy reunites Aira and Wes for that 2nd chance at a love they never got to explore the 1st time. But don't let that sweet fairy tale fool you. This is Hidden Creek and everyone's got secret and sooner or later they are all going to be coming out.
I could not put this book down until I read every word. Jaxson never fails to disappoint! You'll be laughing, cringing and wanting to punch more than a few people in this book. Then you will fall in love with the characters and feel like you are engaged into their convoluted lives! Just when you think that you have envisaged the ending, WRONG! It takes more twists and turns uncovering more secrets and mysteries. Hold on to your hat and watch your back.. You never know who is coming after you next!

I just couldn't finish this book. I didn't feel a real connection and I didn't really care for how the story was playing out. Maybe because I didn't finish it I didn't understand why it was so tragic that her house burned down. DO NOT get me wrong, that is a very tragic accident, but this story is written like her parents died or something in that fire. I just don't get why people would need to tip toe around her. I didn't like how they Aira and Wes just picked up where they left off. There should have been some weirdness or something between them. She was gone for like 8 years that's a long time and a lot can happen and people change. I know that's where they were going with that in Wes's case but it don't feel like that's what came out of the story. I like my stories believable and I just found these characters hard to believe. Which sucks because it had such a great rating, but it just wasn't for me.

    Best love/hate high school ever

I totally felt like I was back in high school again with this book. All the catty chicks in the story. So many secrets everyone is hiding. You will be pulled in from the beginning wanting to know why one of the characters acts a certain way or what their next move will be. I love Aira. She's not afraid to say what's on her mind. There are so many more characters I want to know more about. Noelle, Ryland, Jett, Julia, Mika, and Emma all peeked my interest. The secrecy of this town is insane. This series is a must read. Jaxson Kidman did it again. And that ending... just wow. DO NOT HESITATE. Pick this book up now and read Hidden Creek High. He will blow your mind

The life Aira knew was taken from her. One tragic event would catapult her back to the beginning. A beginning that included Wes. Aira was nothing like the girl he once knew.  Prettier than he remembered, if that was possible, but Wes, the man, wasn't even close to the boy he was years ago.
Aira's first few days are marred with confusion. She sees people she'd grown up with, but no one is the same. Time will do that. It's a different world in the small town of Hidden, full of secrets and a high school that seems to be it's own little world, run by the more priveledged students. Everything's changed. Nothing resembles the days of innocence and awkwardness. Aira's tough and doesn't put up with much. She always has her guard up and at Hidden Creek High that's recommended. Wes has changed too. He has secrets just like Aira. But when they're together, life seems a little bit better, almost like they'll make it.
A HARD DRIVING STORYLINE THAT TOOK OFF ON PAGE ONE AND KEPT GOING UNTIL THE LAST PAGE AND WILL LEAVE YOU CRAVING MORE ! JAXSON IS AN EXPERT AT TEASING AND ONCE AGAIN HE DELIVERS ! ! !   AMAZING CHARACTERS THAT WILL HAVE YOU CHEERING THEM ON AND WILL HAVE YOU TOTALLY IMMERSED IN THEIR LIVES  !  LOTS OF AWESOME SECONDARY CHARACTERS, THAT I HOPE,  WILL GET THEIR STORIES HEARD ALSO !   NOT YOUR TYPICAL SMALL TOWN HIGH SCHOOL READ.   ORIGINAL STORYLINE WITH CHARACTERS THAT ARE RAW, RELATABLE AND UNFORGETTABLE  ! ! !
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ! ! !

HIDDEN CREEK SECRETS (Hidden Creek High Book #1) By Jaxson Kidman
Jaxson Kidman is a master of his game. All his work that I have read has been exceptionally good, but in this one he has upped the ante. This is the best YA book I have read. This is the story of Aria and Weslee. She moves back to her old town after her home burnt down. Aria finds that Hidden Creek is not the same place as it was when she left. She finds out right off that the people are different as well. She left when she was 11 and returned about 6 years later. The bitch cliques are fully in place and she runs into that on her 1st day. The only thing similar is the attraction between Aria and Weslee.
This story really took me back to high school. The description that Jaxson gives us as he puts us into this world is so complete, you can almost smell the floor polish. This well written story has angst, suspense, intrigue, lots of secrets, great characters, even the secondary characters are awesome, witty banter, and a CLIFFHANGER....!!! Jaxson has created a world that I can not wait to get back to, thankfully it is only a two week wait! Congrats Jaxson on a job very well done! I wish it was possible to give this more than 5 stars.

Welcome to HCH, where everyone has their secrets!

Holy s$!t! Jaxson delivers the most intense story to date. He is going to take us on a crazy journey with this series. The prologue is the most powerful prologue I have ever read. Wes and Aira’s connection couldn’t be dulled by years apart. In true Jaxson Kidman fashion we are provided with epic side characters that I just want more. My heart beat so fast with the drama, motorcycles & sexual tension. All the questions leave you wanting the next in the series. I’ll leave you with this....baseball bats & hard ons!

  • Debra Williams

Love, Love, Loved it!!!!! Jaxson Kidman is a genius. You will be on the edge of your seat with this one. It takes you back to your younger years or high school. A must read book. A book that you will want and do read in one sitting. Jaxson Kidman does not disappoint. The emotions are high. Can’t wait to see what is in store with the next. I received this as an arc and I am leaving my honest review. It deserves more than 5 stars

  • Sarah

All I can say is WOW!! Jaxson Kidman, you are amazing!! I really did not know what to think of this book, yet It is awesome. Wes is a bad boy with a good heart, which has always beat for Aira. And while Aira comes across as a good girl, she knows how to take care of herself, and is a lot stronger than she thinks. There are so many secrets, waiting to be revealed, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

  • CeCe

I was unable to connect with the characters. I usually love these type of books but there was something missing. A lot of it dragged. Not going us any answers. I won't be reading book 2.
At first I was hoping that it would become a paranormal with all the secrets and odd feelings, but no. Just a boring book. You may love it. Reading is subjective.

I am not sure why the hero cared so much for the heroine.

  • Karen

It's high school with horrible kids...

  • Ma

This had all the things I look for in a book and yet failed miserably in making me care.
First of all, all the secrets, the mysteries, like, can someone PLEASE complete a sentence or just say what is going on? But no. Every scene has an interruption, all the characters keep every fucking story for themselves and basically pretty much the whole plot could have been solved if they just talked to each other.
For instance, when when the heroine saw Weslee with Noelle and freaked out. Babe, why didn't you just go to him? Of course not. Pages and pages were wasted on a simple and ridiculous misconception that only later we are told relies on a cheating boyfriend she had and traumatized her. Since the trauma in question is barely referenced (as opposed by the fire, for ex.), it doesn't convince anyone.
We never get to know WHY the rivalry between the boys exist. I mean, sure, they dislike each other and have money beef, but that's it? They would fight like that over this alone? We also don't understand Julia and Jett's relationship at all, nothing is actually said about it. Possibly the only character that not only makes sense, but has a deeper background story is Noelle, and even then I didn't care for her much.

    Anyway.
I'm maybe looking too deep into the book, but I just expected, you know, basic common sense. It's just not well written and/or developed enough to read realistic enough.

Secrets can't be hidden for a long time...

This story takes place in a small coastal town. There is a saying that says, "Small town, Big hell." That means that no matter how much you try to hide your secrets, there will always be someone who discovers them.

Aira is a young woman who, after living a terrible experience, tried to organize her life by returning to her village with Julia. The relationship with their parents is not the best. She may have had everything she needed materially, but has lacked the warmth and love of her parents. It is a fact that he immerses her in pain and only feels a way to escape from it. Until Wes returns to her life.

Wes is a somewhat rebellious guy, but with cause. He cares for others, fulfills his promises and fights for what he wants. Together they will face the obstacles that will appear on the road. I can say that Wes won my heart.

A secondary character that caught my attention was Emma. From whom I hope to know more in the future. . I enjoyed this reading. I laughed, felt angry in some moments and sighed.

Jaxson has a unique way of introduce you to the atmosphere of the story, making you feel that the characters and situations they face are real. That's the part I like most about an author.

  • Vania

    Hmmmmm....

So I'm torn between liking and disliking this book. It's not horrible, but it's not great either. In my opinion, this book was very rushed. Everything is kind of thrown around which really annoyed me, and all these "secrets" that every character has is annoying as well because you don't find out what any of them are. However, seeing as there is a second book I'd hope we'd find out these secrets in the second installment. Either way, this first book didn't quite grasp my attention. It took me almost a week to completely read this book, when normally I read books within a day or less. So I'm giving this book a 3 star rating because I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. Not sure if I'll read the second book seeing as the writing is very juvenile, rushed, and kind of scattered, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions so don't knock it till you read it.

    So Many Secrets

Talk about a walk back in time...

High school held good and bad in this story.  But Wes and Aira seemed to find the dark side to everything but each other and even they seemed surrounded by a dark vortex.  Time and tragedy separated them but now they are reunited.  She’s simply trying to survive and he’s trying to protect her from the secrets left behind.  Trouble lurks everywhere. Wes finds Aira his escape but Aira finds relief in pain.  A dark place to be.

There are many factors that make this story both tragic and true.  Growing up, friends and enemies, life in general is hard.  Secondary characters added so much to this storyline.

We’re left now to find out how this couple weather their storms and unfolding secrets.

    Emotionally Captive to This One

I mean, this book. Blew my mind, I was completely sucked in from beginning to end. It felt as if this story was charged with all the electricity in the world and for every chapter I delved into a huge zap right to the core of my very existence. I never thought I'd like a story about high school but this one rocked me. Jaxson Kidman will always be on the top of my go to list.

  • Amanda Mitchell

Jaxson Kidman does it again, with another great book. I thoroughly recommend you read this book, I loved it, and I think you will too. I was hooked from the beginning, its very well written and has great characters and a good storyline. Aira and Wes have always had feelings for each other, even when they were small and didn't know what the feelings meant. But in a town called Hidden, where there are so many secrets, can their love survive them. Can't wait to read the next book, luckily we don't have long to wait. Well done Jaxson 💗

  • Linda Newbern

I never regret reading a book by Jaxson Kidman. His way with words and his grasp of human nature makes his books mesmerizing. Our latest series involves the lives and secrets of a town and a high school. Wes is the typical bad boy with a heart of gold and a soft spot for Aira, who returns to her hometown with some baggage. The supporting characters are all so well developed that I’m hoping we’ll see more after the original 4 books. I happily recommend this book.

  • Jennifer

WHOA! Don't let the fact that Wes and Aira are in high school. Their lives are bigger than high school, and the secondary characters are so fabulous that you can't help but be sucked into their pasts, drama. guilt, danger and the love they can't deny!!!! It's small town drama and intrigue at its best and I absolutely LOVED it!! I can't wait for the next installment!!

  • Sharilyn Russell

    Received as an ARC
Again Jaxson has brought a book to life. I was captivated from the very beginning. The two characters are so real to life, with their HS turmoil that goes on in every HS. Their feeling became my feelings. Another good read by this author
