Sworn to Protect (True Blue K-9 Unit #8) Reviews

Very good and enjoyable conclusion to the True Blue K-9 Unit series. It was nice to see Katie Jameson find love again (since her husband K-9 Unit Chief Jordan’s murder) with K-9 Officer Tony Knight. At first I thought it was a bit soon for Katie with a new romance, but by the book’s end I was convinced that Katie and Tony were meant to be. The story had a good mix of suspense and romance. I enjoyed the New York City settings. I loved Tony’s adorable K-9 partner Rusty. I thought the epilogue of the story was so wonderfully done and wrapped up the series perfectly.

Bella storia che ha degnamente concluso un'ottima serie: ho patito insieme alla protagonista e sono stata assai felice per il lieto fine.
Il voto può essere considerato come dato a tutta la serie nel suo insieme. -
I have really enjoyed this series, and have been looking forward to the crime being solved and the bad guy being caught. The previous book revealed the killer's identity and motive, and this book focused more on him and catching him, while protecting the widow and baby of the murdered police chief.
McCoy is one of the best authors Love Inspired Suspense has, and I was happy to see she got the job of writing the final book. It was worth the wait. This was an awesome read, with plenty of suspense and drama. Great ending to the book also. Though I was eagerly anticipating this last book, I was also sad to see the series end. It went too fast -
'God never sleeps, but sometimes He has a reason to say no. Maybe this is one of those times.'
The True Blue K-9 Unit series is brought to a wonderful conclusion with book 8 by Shirlee McCoy. McCoy is a wonderful inspirational suspense writer, in my opinion. She just knows how to capture and keep a reader's attention with her well crafted characters and great plots. Bravo! -
I took this off kindle and didn't realize it was the last of the series, stupid me. But anyway, it's fine. I liked this one. Katie lost her husband and being pregnant doesn't make it any easier. She was trying to protect herself and her baby for her psycho stalker. Tony was just always there for her, in any capacity she wanted. Their relationship and feelings only started after her husband died, and neither of them wanted to bring those feelings to light, which is understandable. The ending I think it was a really too soon, like they could six months later or more instead of just two, but maybe that's just me. But yeah, overall, I really liked this and I can't to start from the beggining, even though I know all that will happen and will be rooting for this couple despite the fact they will only happen in this book :)

Just didn't appeal. Didn't connect to the characters, didn't warm up to them. Gave up around page 44.

This series ended well. I do wish more time passed before the widow found love again and got engaged but that's just my personal opinion. Happy ending

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Sworn to Protect. This is the eighth book in the continuity series True Blue K-9 Unit. This is the conclusion of the series although there is another book in December. This book is well written, action packed, and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.
Katie Jameson is about to have a child. Her husband was killed several months ago. She found out that he was murdered because a mad man who decided he wanted Katie. She was meant to be his. He is doing everything in his power to get to her. After the birth of her child the mad man comes after her baby. Will this nightmare ever end?
K-9 Officer Tony Knight is determined to protect Katie and the baby from this mad man. Jordan had been his best friend, he owed it to his friend to protect his wife and child. He had always been attracted to Katie but he has fought the attraction all through their marriage and now through her widowhood. He must keep her safe and not betray his best friend. He must take down Jordan's killer.
A journey to survive the evil mind of a stalker that refuses to stop until he possesses Katie and her child. God has a plan for them, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not fore evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life. -
I have enjoyed this series and getting acquainted with all the characters. We discovered in the last book who the killer of K-9 Chief Jordan Jameson is, and why he was killed. In this book, we are in on the frantic chase to recapture the murderer and bring him to justice. Jordan's widow, Katie, and their newborn, are being threatened by the killer, keeping the K-9 department busy following leads to find him. K-9 Officer, Tony Knight, was an honorary brother to Jordan Jameson. Tony had promised to take care of Katie if anything ever happened to Jordan. Now that the unthinkable has happened, we see Tony step up to fulfill his promise. Author Shirlee McCoy has done a wonderful job of wrapping up the series! This book has been full of suspense. She has done a good job of showing us the intelligence and cunning of the criminal and how his over confidence was his undoing.

"Sworn to Protect" is a Christian romantic suspense. Katie misses her murdered husband and is sad about how the hopeful, happy future she'd envisioned when they married hadn't turned out the way she'd expected. Even before Noah was murdered, he'd made his work more important than her. Now she's struggling to trust that God's plan for her future is a good one when her husband's murderer is now after her and threatening her soon-to-be-born baby. I loved Katie. Tony was a great match for her: supportive, caring, and he understood her well. They were great friends and now allowed that caring to grow into love.
The main characters were engaging, complex, and reacted realistically to events. The suspense came from the danger to Katie and the baby as an erratic, insane man stalked her. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd highly recommend this enjoyable, exciting novel. -
I love this story. It wraps up this series nicely. It gives Katie a happy ending without a rush. It also solves her husband's murder with a sad note. For it gives us a glimpse into the mind of a man who isn't stable. Also Tony a brother by choice for Jordan ends up falling for our gal here. There is great action here and there is a slow falling in love for she is a widow. I like how the lose ends are tied up and the mystery is solved. The other thing I like is the epilogue. Shirlee does a awesome job finishing this series. The series started on a sad note and it ends on a very positive one. Its a great series that is worth reading from start to finish. J

Finally finished the series! Pretty good stuff with all the different K-9 dogs there are and their partners.
Katie Jameson is about ready to have her baby and the K-9 unit had caught her husband’s killer only to learn that he’d escaped from the mental hospital with her and the baby as his target but not if Tony Knight has anything to say about it. Fellow K-9 officer Tony Knight and his partner Rusty had vowed to protect his best friend’s wife if anything were to happen to him and now it has come to pass. Will Tony be able to keep Katie safe from a mad man as well her precious baby girl and have a chance at a future together? Find out in the final story! -
Police Widow Fights Crazy Man
This novel is an excellent addition to the series. These books can really be read in any order, but you will enjoy them more by reading them in the order they were written. All of these books share characters and locations. This is a very good police mystery with lots of great K-9 work. A crazy man has killed a K-9 officer and now is hunting his very pregnant widow to claim as his own. This is a very tense story but contains no blood, gore, or sex. There is a light romance building in the background. There is also a large element of faith. -
3.5 rating. Tony Knight was Chief Jordan Jameson’s best friend and he made a promise to be there for his family if anything should happen to Jordan. When Jordan is murdered Tony steps up to keep that promise.
Katie Jameson is Jordan’s pregnant widow. She is being stalked by the man who murdered her husband. She and her unborn daughter are in a lot of danger.
Tony and the rest of the K-9 unit join forces to protect the Jameson clan.
Katie and Tony find love and contentment out of the tragedy. -
I enjoyed this True Blue K-9 Unit series of books, written by some of my favorite romance writers. In the book before this one, readers found out who was responsible for the death of Chief Jordan Jameson and the reason for his killing, In this book, the K-9 handlers try to find the perpetrator, who is unstable but crafty and secretive. Shirlee McCoy has written a good conclusion to the series; her book was worth the wait.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. Not only is Katie having to deal with the final stages of pregnancy without her husband, his killer has escaped and is stalking her. I loved how she continually reminded herself that God is in control. Tony had promised to take care of Katie if anything happened to her husband, and he wasn’t going to break that promise. I thought this was a great book.

Although I haven’t read the previous books (not on KU), this book was well written. I loved the descriptions of the dogs behaviours and actions as well as the story. Katie definitely needed a happy ending and Jordan’s family is so supportive of her relationship with Tony. -
Heartfelt
Loved the characters and family Christian values it portrayed as well as dog personalities. Expressed real human reactions to good and bad situations we can all identify with.
