In Episode One - Black Market Prawns - Jake strikes a deal with a dodgy mariner to acquire one tonne of prawns illegally obtained from the horribly polluted harbour. Sounds like a good way to earn some coin, but during the height of Summer and without adequate refrigeration, the race is on to offload the goods before the funk really settles in.
Will Sam, Jake and Dylan convince the suspiciously smiling owner of the crappy restaurant downstairs to buy their ripening stock? Or perhaps their brand new recipe for Prawnshakes ('Prawns and milk, together at last') will prove a big hit with the unsuspecting public? Find out the answers to these, and other weird questions you never would have thought to ask, in the stupid tale that is Black Market Prawns.
Written by Australian comedian and fantasy author, Sam Bowring.
Sam, Jake and Dylan Want Money: Episode 1Black Market Prawns Reviews
-
In the forward, Bowring says this is a novelization of a sitcom he and his friends came up with when they were in high school. Yep. That’s exactly what it reads like—or at least the 10% I managed to suffer through before packing it in.

An interesting tale.
The characters make this story. They're all just so wonderfully weird and wacky. Special mention goes to Dylan who turns into a redhead when angry. -
I liked it. Funny story ,only wish it were longer

Not since John O’Grady, have I seen such pure, unbridled literary wit. Sam Bowring presents the perfect Australian tale, with all spoken dialogue written in typical Aussie English. I felt right at home while reading this side-splitting narrative of Sam’s attempt at a blog and the conversation that ensues. From the first page to the last, ‘Black Market Prawns’ doesn’t skip a beat in action, drama, entertainment and pure hilarity. Although this is the first book I have ever read by Sam Bowring, I can guarantee that it will not be the last, as it tickled my funny bone in all the right places. I highly recommend this book to anybody who is not shocked by the way in which typical Australians speak – swearing and all – and to those who enjoy a great laugh.

This is hilarious little adventure from Sam Bowring. You just need to read this. Sam, Jake and Dylan is a series of short stories featuring none other than Sam, Jake and Dylan. Their misdeeds are hilariously stupid and Bowring does a great job if dropping you right in it, along with the characters.

This book is great but very confusing. I like it a lot and it has some cuss words in it so i dont recemend it for people ages 13 and young.
