The rainy season in Seattle had a calming effect on Addison. Good things always happened then and made her feel positive about everything around her, especially now as she headed toward the bookstore. But turning the corner, a man sprinted in front of her and caused her to fall backward! Catching her by the wrist, he began to apologize before going quiet and staring at her! He wanted to take her to lunch, but she was in a hurry and ran off without exchanging information. The bookstore was in a dark alley, only a single light in the front and one in the back. Books were piled everywhere she looked, with a thick layer of dust on them. No one seemed to be around, until a voice spoke up to say hello. The man was huge and somehow felt dangerous.
Addison introduced herself as an investigative journalist for the Seattle Times. The shop owner was Maric Devoy. She pretended to want an interview about his bookstore and missing people, but he said he had no time and actually growled at her! As she turned away, she spotted a gold locket and scrolled through her phone – she had a picture of a locket owned by one of the missing girls, and this was the same locket! Maric came out from the back of the shop and saw the locket. As she dialed the police and tried to escape, he caught her, pinned her to the floor, and told her she was going to join those people he had kidnapped while he tightly squeezed her neck! Just as she lost all strength, the police pulled up outside and Maric turned to run, threatening that she would pay for this! And then blackness took her.
As Addison’s best friend and boss was lecturing her about taking such risks, Addison told her it was worth it to catch the man. But Lindsay told her he wasn’t caught! He escaped the police and ran off in the woods. However, the police found two teens were tied up and gagged in the back room, proof of who committed the crimes, so some good came out of it. Lindsay ordered her to take a couple of days to rest at home.
Addison reached in her pocket for her keys and found the locket she had forgotten to give to the police. Maybe she would instead give it back to the family. But as she approached her apartment door, it was clawed and gouged as if an animal had tried to get in. The door stood open and everything she owned inside was slashed and broken. Maric left a note that he would keep after her until he ruined her life too. She tore up the note and prepared to leave Seattle.
Flint, the alpha of his pack on Silverwood Island, was awakened by his brother and sister-in-law. Competitive by nature, they raced to the lake, then the brothers wrestled each other. Although Ash consistently lost to his older brother, Flint envied the fact that Ash had a mate to come home to. They headed to the Wolf Den meeting hall to go over the pack’s business. Flint was told a young woman was moving into town, and he told them to make her feel welcome.
Addison arrived on the ferry and May Silver headed toward the site where they would be building Addison’s new house. May told her about the cozy town and the wolves on the island who she assured her were perfectly safe. Addison still shivered as she heard the howls. May told Addison that, while her home was being built, she could stay at no cost at the Silver Inn that she managed. As they approached the Inn, Addison saw a gorgeous man standing out front with two other men. May told him she didn’t have time to talk then so he left. As for Flint, he had an immediate reaction to the beautiful woman and struggled to hold his wolf back! He didn’t even wait for her name, but hastened away to regain some control.
Flint had asked May to invite Addison to Pete’s Bar & Grille so everyone could meet her. As he sat beside Addison at the bar, he finally whispered something and she nodded. They spent the rest of the evening in her room. He left early to get started on his work; she left later to meet the construction crew building her house. And about an hour later, a huge, scary man walked through the door of the Silver Inn! Every hair on May’s body stood up, and tension rang through even the human guests! How would Addison be safe from this vengeful killer who had found her again? Would Flint be able to keep her from harm?
This was a really good book with good pacing, well developed characters, and a great story line. The suspense kept the reader invested to find out if Maric would be able to carry out his threat or not. You won’t want to miss this story – it’s exciting and thrilling and I definitely recommend it! The other stories are equally as exciting and I am sure you will enjoy this collection! -
What a series
Wolves Of Silverwood Island (The Complete Series Books 1-4)
By Maia Starr
Kindle unlimited purchase
The series was great. I had one problem though it needs a proofreader. Example "This" (The) first moment I laid eyes on Brooke, I knew she was the one. Her "eye" (delete duplicate word) green eyes brimmed with a beauty I’ve never seen before, ... Now don't get me wrong everyone makes mistakes but I would think when the books first published by the time the books were put in a BOX set that the problems would be fixed. And the problems are numerous and are completely fixable. Now the books themselves were great. They had a great plot, just enough drama and (OMG) the sex was HOT! I loved each book as much as the other. Book 4 is my favorite. It's an MMMF. The rest of the series is just "plain Jane. I look forward to reading other books by Maia Starr. -
A good read
I enjoyed this collection of stories that consists of different shifter packs on Silverwood Island. It was an interesting and humorous collection, and had some suspenseful situations as well. The only thing that I didn't really care for was the descriptions of the intimate scenes. Honestly, it was like reading a teen novel with the way that everything was described. It certainly wasn't what I expected when reading an adult novel, unless maybe this is intended for teenagers as well?
If the intimate scenes are going to be involved, I would much rather have descriptions beyond their "privates" being used. Just my opinion.
Overall, these were really good stories, and I believe that most can enjoy them.
I would recommend this book. -
I liked the first two books best but all the characters were compelling. Secrets and withholding of information rampant on Silverwood Island. Several settlements but no real cross overs just a passing mention of the other groups. Including a map of the territories held by each shifter group would have helped. Unfortunately it felt like I was a beta reader with the number of inconsistencies and typos. Best females characters were Addison and Dr. Samantha both good strong women. Brooke from the last story too damsel in distress for my liking.

Plot: Great, Grammatical Errors: Plenty
I'm not saying this to disrespect Ms. Starr. Her plots and story line in this collection of books- wonderful! Character development is fast paced, but good. However, the amount of grammatical errors is insane. My advice is to hire a good editor. There's a great amount of talent here, it just needs to be developed. -
