Nathan is feeling a little lost. His twin brother, Adam, who he usually shares everything with; including a home and women now has a mate.
Thinking he just needs a mate of his own, Adam signs Nathan up to Eternal Mates; an immortal dating site. When Nathan finds out what he’s done, he leaves and ends up getting rip-roaring drunk at Liaisons, a vampire run immortal nightclub.
Unfortunately, he gets so drunk, he wakes to find himself locked up. The only problem… it’s not a police cell.
The new grizzly bear has become an overnight sensation at Moonton Wildlife Park… especially as bears; never mind grizzlies are not indigenous to the UK.
The only shining light in the pickle Nathan has found himself in is his keeper, Maria. She’s a hot brunette with lips to die for and a rack he’d give his right paw to be able to… well paw. Unfortunately, as he can’t shift – nor remember why – no matter how attractive he finds Maria, he can’t do a damn thing about it. If Nathan doesn’t want to spend the rest of his very long life in captivity, he needs to figure it all out.
However is Nathan going to get out of this little predicament?
Contains humour, and content only suitable for adults.

Enjoyable to see what happens if you don’t believe
Nathan doesn’t think he could have a Mate, after his fated Mate was killed by a drunk driver. Maria has been scorched by an idiot boyfriend. Lucky for them, the matchmaking vampire has a solution ... or at least, she thought she did. -
This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. Taming the Beast is the second book in the Eternal Mates series but can be read as a standalone. As this series is a spin off of 'The Bound Series' its suggested that you should read it after Fae Moon (Book 7) and before Fated by the Moon (Book 8) but you don't need to. This is Nathan's story, its all about him finding his mate Maria and its quite a journey.
Nathan is a bear shifter. Nathan doesn’t think he could have a Mate, after his fated Mate was killed by a drunk driver. Fed up, that every time he meets someone he thinks could be his mate, they choose one of his friends, he decides to up and leave. He doesn't get very far as he only gets as far as Liaisons. Now all he has to do is shift and escape right? Wrong. He can't seem to but on the plus side there is Maria, his keeper at the Wildlife Park he is now stuck in.
Maria is an animal lover and works at a wildlife park. She isn't overly confident around men but animals she comfortable with. Maria had a seriously bad breakup and has pretty much sworn off men but her friend Trina nags her till she gives in. Maria got a match instantly and had a date on Saturday night but he never came which just added to her self doubt.
I am going to go and read The Bound Series and also Immortal Flame (Book 1) then I can't wait for the next one in the series Fae Lover. -
Paranormal dating service? What could go wrong? How about everything when a stubborn bear shifter digs his paws in. Nathan wants nothing to do with dating. He has gotten by since his mate’s death by sharing women here and there but the last couple of times he was left high and dry when the males he was with claimed the women as their mates. Now, he just wants to be left alone, maybe find a new home and start over someplace far away. But before he gets out of town fate has yet another joke to play on him. Two people, both unlucky in love, are paired together in this very entertaining story.
This has quite the unique spin on the basic shifter romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have to admit that the first couple of chapters had me struggling with the author’s version of shifters and mating, but since I jumped into the world in the middle that isn’t unusual. I quickly had the process down and what a page turner this turned out to be! Great fun and a sweet, yet steamy, romance. Highly Recommended! -
Having been lucky enough to read the prior books which are standalone stories we were introduced to Nathan and I wasn’t sure I liked him all that much. Nathan’s brother Adam found a mate and was happy but Nathan seemed jealous even though his brother only wanted the best for Nathan. Adam having enough of worrying about Nathan entered his name in the Eternal Mates website.
Maria had a seriously bad breakup and has pretty much sworn off men but her friend Trina nags her till she gives in. Maria got a match instantly and had a date on Saturday night but he never came which just added to her self doubt.
Nathan decides he isn’t going on the date but the fates interfere so he doesn’t even if he wanted but he meets a woman who seems to be perfect for him except he is in his bear form and can’t change back.
Knowing exactly what’s happening and not being able to communicate was extremely funny between Maria and Nathan and I hope they will be included in future stories. -
The beginning of the book almost had me in tears, I did not expect that!
This is Nathan's story, its all about him finding his mate Maria and its quite a journey.
Did I mention that Nathan is a bear shifter. He has been told his match is about and a date is set but he doesn't show - fate has its own way and he is obviously destined to meet Maria, all be it not how he expected.
Maria is an animal lover and works at a wildlife park. She isn't overly confident around men but animals she comfortable with.
I really enjoyed this book, it had a few of the other characters from the original series showing up, which I enjoyed.
I will be following this series along with the original one as they are entertaining and heartwarming.
4.5 cuddly stars! -
I'm so happy that Nathan has finally got his story..But blimey JF Holland puts him through the wringer..
Having lost a mate then losing potentially two more to say Nathan is miffed is an understatement..Angry at fate, lonely and about ready to give up he finds himself in Salinas sight..
Filled with action, emotions and one steamy dream welcome back to Lunaton where the immortals live anything but a quite life! -

This book was spectacular. Nathan is down and out about his brother finding his mate. Adam just wants him to be happy. Signing him up for a dating site couldn’t hurt? Right?
Marie is a keeer for the wildlife. She falls instantly in love with the bear. Something is off though. Strange things are happening and she is scared that something bad is going to happen. The storyline is full of laughs and love. Excellent writing. -
This book was sad and funny at the same time. Poor guy loses his fated mate just before he finds her and spends many years in misery. Then a vampire seer steps in and puts him in front of his new mate. The hilarious part is that he is in his animal form and can’t communicate with her. Trouble follows and things get dicey for a bit. It is a very entertaining listen because it keeps you engaged from start to finish. The narrator did a great job bringing out the humor and the sadness.

In this book, though the MCs mentioned Leonard and Jill from book 1, They do not actually appear in this story. The MCs are both people who have been emotionally hurt in the past and so Cynetical, & Standoffish. The story does have some twists I personally did not see coming which made the Story that much more interesting. Narrator did a wonderful job with the characters and the storyline!!

A dating website catering to primarily immortals run by Selena a witch and vampire has been successful. Nathan's brother signs him up unknown to him. Selena sets up an unusual meeting for Nathan a grizzly bear with Maria a human after Nathan blows off the blind date. Unfortunately Maria and Nathan find themselves in a dangerous situation. They need to help each other escape. The only problem Nathan has shifted into a grizzly. Read to find out how things go for them.

Well, all I can say is, Ms Holland has done it again! Taming the Beast is the latest in her series of books set in and around Lunaton, and this time we follow Nathan. Nathan, one of the grizzly twins, is in a funk, a big, huge, enormous funk. Fed up, that every time he meets someone he thinks could be his mate, they choose one of his friends, he decides to upsticks and leave. He doesn't get very far - in fact only as far as Liaisons - when his fate is... errr... twiddled with!
Now all he has to do is shift and escape right? Wrong... he can't seem to.... but - on the plus side there is Maria, his keeper at the Wildlife Park he is now stuck in. Her presence causes Nathan all manner of interesting sensations - but, nothing is ever simple where these shifters are concerned and there is more afoot at the park than animal husbandry.
I love these books, they are among my very favourite, and Taming the Beast is no exception. Beautifully written, with a fast paced, intriguing plot and the wonderfully diverse set of characters we have come to expect.
Taming the Beast a beary beary good book (see what I did there...sorry, couldn't help it!) - I could not put it down.
Thank you, Ms Holland - can't wait for the next installment... no pressure! -
