Bestselling author Kathleen Fuller returns to the Amish community of Birch Creek, where an inn provides the perfect backdrop for romance.

Levi Stoll moved to Birch Creek with his widowed father, sister, and grandmother to run a much-needed inn in the small town. Within this thriving community Levi has found his purpose and joy in the new inn. It doesn’t hurt that the move also provides him a fresh start, leaving behind some mistakes he’d much rather forget.

Selah Ropp has returned to Birch Creek after trying to outrun her own unhappiness. Genuinely glad to be back with old friends, Selah starts to work at the inn and can’t deny the sparks that fly between her and the handsome innkeeper. He’s like no man she’s ever met.

But Selah has a past, and she knows Levi will reject her if he discovers it. What she doesn’t know is that Levi is overcoming his own past mistakes while trying to ignore his attraction to his employee.

With Kathleen Fuller’s trademark humor and memorable characters, The Innkeeper’s Bride reminds us all that with God’s grace, the past is forgotten and love will reign supreme.

The Innkeepers Bride (Amish Brides of Birch Creek #3) Reviews

I've really enjoyed all of the Birch Creek books by Kathleen Fuller. I've read all of them and their all winners. This is the third book in the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series.
This is Selah and Levi's story.
Selah lives with her brother and his wife but wants to make her own way in life. To do so she must be gainfully employed and save up money to do so.
Levi Stoll and his father are newcomers to Birch Creek working to open a new Amish Bed and Breakfast Inn. Problem is there is also another new Inn opening close by and it's their competition.
When Selah is hired on at Levi and his father's Inn she's happy and starts to change for the better.
Now Selah has a difficult time with some things but because of embarrassment she doesn't want to talk about it. The author does a real nice job of handling this sensitive subject.
Also continuing the story from previous books are secondary characters Richard and Cevilla, an older couple who are struggling with some issues in their relationship and I must say it was so nice to see an older couple relationship because we are not all in the first blush of love but still enjoy reading romance.
There are really several story lines running here at the same time .
You really get a sense of the Amish community reading this and realize like us they have plenty of their own problems to sift through.
Charming characters and an intriguing plot will keep you reading.
I really enjoyed this heartwarming book a lot and look forward to reading many more books by this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Zondervan through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Although The Innkeeper's Bride by Kathleen Fuller is #3 in the series Amish Brides of Birch Creek, it can easily be read as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I appreciate her writing style.
This is a clean sweet Amish romance story with humour and drama and several story lines, which make it interesting and intriguing. We see various aspects of the thriving Amish community of Birch Creek, including daily life in the Amish household. The story deals with some serious issues, including depression, alcoholism, and verbal and emotional abuse.
Kathleen Fuller has realistic memorable characters with strengths and weaknesses, fears and dreams. My favourite characters were Levi, Selah, Jackson and octogenarians Richard and Cevilla. I enjoyed reading this heartwarming book and highly recommend it to readers of Amish fiction.
Thanks to Kathleen Fuller for writing The Innkeeper's Bride and thanks to Zondervan and NetGalley for a complimentary digital ARC of this book.

The Innkeeper’s Bride by Kathleen Fuller is the third novel The Amish Brides of Birch Creek. It can be read on its own if you have not read The Teacher’s Bride and The Farmer’s Bride. I found The Innkeeper’s Bride to be well-written with realistic characters. I liked that the characters had their own struggles, doubts and fears. Selah suffers from clinical depression which is not uncommon. Depression is hard to understand unless you suffer from it yourself. Selah feels ashamed that that she has depression and needs the aid of medication and a health professional. She also made a mistake with a man and does not want the unfortunate incident brought to light. Levi has his own doubts and has made mistakes in the past. She wonders if working at the inn is the right job for him. Levi would like to get to know Selah better, but he does not want his family to know. His sister, Nina will tease him and his grandmother, Delilah will meddle. Cevilla Schlabach has tried to be patient while she has waited for Richard to make a life changing decision. Unfortunately, after spending her whole adult life single, Cevilla finds she is no longer content. Cevilla is afraid to tell Richard how she feels. I love the relationship between Richard and Cevilla. They are an adorable couple. I have enjoyed their relationship. Cevilla and Delilah have become friends (of sort). Delilah has been doing a little meddling and barges in on Cevilla to get her feedback as well as complain when things do not go as she expected. There are some humorous moments between the two of them and I like their conspiring. Jackson Talbot and his father, Trevor are in The Innkeeper’s Bride. Trevor Talbot owns the Stay Inn which has been the only place to stay in Birch Creek until now. He does not like this new competition and sends Jackson to get intel on the Stoll Inn. I like Jackson and his journey. I would like to see more of Jackson. I enjoyed reading The Innkeeper’s Bride in which the author gave us delightful characters and a beautiful setting along with faith and humor. I like how Kathleen Fuller incorporate faith into the story. I am hoping that we get Nina Stoll’s story next time. The Innkeeper’s Bride is a charming, witty tale (of course, I expect nothing less from Kathleen Fuller).

The Innkeeper's Bride by Kathleen Fuller is now on sale! Released on January 14, 2020, it is the third book in the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series. Now, you don't have to read them in order, but I recommend it because you get to know the other characters in the book better.

In this installment, we again meet Selah who currently lives with her brother Christian and his wife, Ruby. Selah recently came back to Birch Creek after staying with her parents for awhile. Selah is going through some difficult times. This is an interesting aspect of the story because we usually don't see this type of issue in an Amish story. Without giving too much away, Selah struggles with some problems she has and a past she can't seem to forgive herself for.

Levi Stoll and his family have settled into Birch Creek to start an inn. It's hard work but the family is excited about their new venture, They just need guests and a chance to get it off the ground. However, there's a modern hotel nearby also opening and there's going to be competition. There's room for everyone but not if someone is working underhandedly to try and ruin things for the Stolls.

Also in the story is the continuing story of Richard and Cevilla who are in the later years in life and trying to overcome their own issues, mainly Cevilla being Amish where Richard is not. However, they are in love and they don't know how they will overcome their barriers to be together.

I enjoyed this series and I really enjoyed the fact that Ms. Fuller addressed the issues in Selah's life. I also liked that there are several different story lines in the book. I think a lot of people will enjoy this. It's part romance, part drama and part just good old family life within the Amish. It's also about friendships and faith, all the good things in life.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publisher and to Ms. Fuller for the ARC. Make sure you get yours today.

    4.5 stars.

The Innkeeper's Bride by Kathleen Fuller is a heartfelt and engaging Amish romance. Although this newest release is the third installment in the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series, it can be read as a standalone.

As much as she loves her brother and sister-in-law, Selah Ropp  is ready to move on to the next phase in her life plan.  But in order to accomplish her goal, she needs to find a job. Luckily, Levi Stoll and his family are looking for someone to work in their newly opened inn.  Selah enjoys her new job and her employers but she is troubled by her feelings for Levi. She is cautious about revealing much about her past but Levi is patient and understanding when her issues arise. Will Selah open her heart to an unexpected chance for love?

Just as the family's inn is about to open, Levi must take on a bigger role than anticipated when his father is injured.  He grows concerned about the family's finances but he knows that he must trust God's plan for them. Levi is not looking for love and certainly not with an employee, but he is quite smitten with Selah.   Not wanting to make her uncomfortable, Levi retreats when their relationship ventures into romantic territory. But will a little help from a pair of crafty matchmakers change his mind?

Octogenarians Cevilla Schlabach and Richard Johnson are still deciding the future of their relationship. Cevilla tries to give Richard the time and space he needs to plan his next step, but she is becoming impatient with his lack of communication with her.  A decision made in haste threatens their happiness but will a little well-meaning interference from her friend Delilah Stoll help the couple work through their problems?

The Innkeeper's Bride is a delightful romance with a wonderful undercurrent of faith. Selah's battle with depression is realistically depicted and her fears about a relationship with Levi are understandable. Levi is an outgoing young man with an optimistic outlook on life. The Stoll family is close-knit and supportive with a strong faith that guides and sustains them as they launch their Inn.

Old and new fans  are sure to love this heartwarming addition to Kathleen Fuller's marvelous Amish Brides of Birch Creek series.

I was so happy to see Selah get her own happy ending! She was a complicated character in the previous books in the series, so it was nice to learn more about her past and understand her struggle with depression. I enjoyed the cast of characters which included Levi's family, Selah's friends and family, and a non-Amish guest at the inn with secrets of his own. I thought the plot was interesting and added another dimension to the story when it delved into the father-son relationship of Jackson, the guest, and his father who owns a local motel and feels threatened by the new Amish inn. We also see the elderly couple, Cevilla and Richard, hit some rocky spots along their relationship journey. Levi is such a likeable guy, and even though he and Selah have their own ups and downs, their friendship was wonderful and naturally blossomed into more. This has been a delightful series with fun characters and a heart-warming community.

(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

I loved that the author gives us a story with a young woman dealing with depression, often swept under the rug, but with Selah and her trying to go on with her life, we get a glimpse into what she has to deal with.
Then we have a young man that is quickly given more responsibility than he anticipated, and finds out he needs to learn to trust his faith.
Can these two unlikely individuals form a relationship?
Now, I have been a read the other two books in this series, and I love that old characters that I care about are brought back in this book, and we are updated!
We also have Amish match makes at their finest!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zondervan. and was not required to give a positive review.

Birch Creek has taught me, it's that you don't have to do it alone.

I love the character's of Birch Creek as they are spunky, caring, and with an honest faith. Levi and his family moved into Birch Creek in the previous book and they have much to offer to their new community. Delilah his grandmother has no filter and is determined to find a good spouse for her grandchildren Levi and his sister. She sees sparks fly in Selah. Selah is a new member of the Amish community in Birch Creek. She is now living with her brother and sister-in-law. Their story is in book 2. Selah is overcoming depression and self-worth. She desires to move into her own home and not ever marry. She has this overwhelming need to do life alone. She realizes that she needs a job and applies at Levi's family Inn that they will be soon opening. The attraction between the two is sweet and awkward however, they both see something in the other but as always, misunderstandings arise. Selah finds a family that she never had in community.

Selah's struggle with depression is the driving force and Levi's attempt to help her gives the reader hope. Community plays a big part in the English and Amish way of life which I also find appealing. With several stories going, Jackson a Englisher that is sent by his father who owns a hotel nearby to wreak havoc for Levi's family attempt to get the Amish Inn going. Delilah's friendship with Cevilla who is has lived in Birch Creek has a single woman for over 70 years and now is rekindling a relationship from her English past. The relationships gives the InnKeeper's Bride spunk and spark! I loved it.

A Special Thank you to Zondervan and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

The Innkeeper's Bride by Kathleen Fuller is the third book in the series The Brides of Birch Creek. Even though Selah and Dylan are the main characters the driving force behind the story, and the series in general, is the matchmaker, Cevilla Schlabach. Cevilla enlists the help of her friends to make sure true love finds the right people. In this book she tries very hard not to play matchmaker to Dylan and Selah. Unfortunately, along with Dylan's grandmother Cevilla can't seem to help herself. Dylan finds himself in charge of the family inn after an accident that prevents his father from taking care of the family business. Selah finds herself with a job at the Inn hoping to be able to move on after an incident in her past affects her future. This is a delightful story and so enjoyable to read. The characters are warm and inviting and I really wish I could spend a few days at Birch Creek in and get to know everyone!
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from NetGalley.

Kathleen's books always makes me feel warm and happy after I've finished one of her books and this one is no exception!!
I'm so glad Selah gets her own story in this one! She's in the other two books but as a supporting character.
Fuller does a great job with Selah and her issues.
I'm happy to see that Cevilla is still around. She's always been my favorite! In a way, she reminds me a little bit of Anna in Jennifer Beckstrands Huckleberry series.
Richard is a wonderful guy! I'd love to have them as my grandparents. But, something is holding him back. The way I see it they are both adults and they should only allow God to work in their lives. If it's meant to be then it will happen.
You've got to love Deliah as well. She's Levi's mom.
She also manages to give us a few laughs as well.
She wants what is best for her family. But, sometimes it's best to leave alone and let God do His work as He sees it. If He wills it then it will happen. Too often people want to do things their own way and leave God out of it and that is why things go awry.
There are some lovely messages in this book.
This is why I love reading Amish books. The Amish are flawed just like we English. But I still think we can learn some of their ways. It's good to be a community. I like the way they help each other out and always there to lend a helping hand as we read in this book.
I love that this is one of those books that makes you eagerly turning the pages to see what is going to happen to Selah and Levi. They run into many interesting things along the way that's for sure.
Will they end up being a couple before the end of the story? Will Richard and Cevilla?
Y'all, I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book to find out.
Well, I'd better close out before I say too much!!
My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own

Kathleen Fuller writes quality Amish Fiction that entertains and engages the reader from beginning to end. The Innkeeper's Bride is the third book in the Brides of Birch Creek series, but easily stands alone.

In this book, Kathleen tackles some of the hard issues in life, one being that of mental illness. Selah Ropp is clinically depressed and is extremely cautious about her relationships. Levi Stoll is the son of an Amish couple who are transforming an Englisch house into a bed and breakfast inn. When Levi's Dat falls off the roof of the house, he has to take over finishing the refurbishing, and then running the Inn. Selah wants to get a job and start supporting herself and the Inn needs a housekeeper, so she applies. Levi's mother sees something more than just a housekeeper, she sees Selah as a possible wife for Levi. It just so happens that there is another meddler in the community named Cevilla Schlabach and the two work together to bring Selah and Levi together.

In dealing with Selah's depression, Kathleen takes the stigma out of seeking psychiatric help for these problems. It's a hard issue to deal with, and Kathleen takes it seriously and writes about it graciously.

This is a five star book, with two thumbs up, and a room at a B&B for a quiet get-away.

HarperCollins and NetGalley.com provided the galley I read for this review.

Selah has come to Birch Creek to escape her past. Levi and his family are starting in an inn. The two become acquainted when Selah gets a job working as a Maid in the new in. Levi and Selah must overcome their difference, come to terms with the past, and get the inn profitable while desperately avoiding matchmakers who have their own minds about Levi and Selah's future.

At the same time, the aged romance between Richard and Cevilla is moving along. The two older lovebirds compare to the new proving that relationships are difficult no matter how old you are.

I really enjoyed this story. It was sweet and light; exactly what I was expecting. I appreciated that Selah uses medication and therapy for her depression as most Christian books seem to gloss over those issues and at best imply that prayer and attitude are all you need.

  • Heather 123

This was a really cute love story. I enjoyed reading how the inn came together and especially about the other couple's incredible romance story we've been introduced to over the last few books.

I appreciated Selah's struggles and her concern over disclosing these struggles to Levi and his family. I loved the way his family supported her and wrapped around her. I think though readers would have appreciated this more if we were given more of a glimpse of her parents and how they treated her. It's hinted at but never really explained.

    The ending felt unfinished.

The Innkeepers Bride is the third remarkable story written by Kathleen Fuller in her Amish Brides of Birch Creek series. The author has continued her series with another powerful story filled with love, patience, family, and forgiveness. The characters are very realistic and bring this story to life. The storyline really evolves quickly and keeps the readers interest until the end.

Even though this story revolves around Selah and Levi there is another couple struggling to find their course to true love. This story shows the readers there is someone for everyone no matter their age. Both of these couples experience struggles within their relationships but who actually gets married. You will have to read this powerful book to find out. I was totally drawn into this story and was amazed at the outcome.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached by anyone to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Congratulations to Kathleen Fuller for writing such an inspiring story filled with such strong emotions for her readers enjoyment.

Birch Creek is getting a new bed and breakfast. Levi was given the job of being the innkeeper after an accident. Selah is seeking employment so she can live on her own. As the two are thrown together by Levi’s grandma after she offered her a job as a maid. There’s plenty of adventure, disappointment, and an unlikely visitor that made this an enjoyable story. Escape from the reality of life to the Amish community of Birch Creek and the changes happening in this Amish community.

I received this book as a birthday gift and was under no obligation to write a review. I have expressed my own opinion.

  • Sunnie

Book three of the Amish Bride's of Birch Creek Series was very impressive to me as it dealed with issues that happen to real people. Sometimes these issues are difficult to talk about to others as was the case for Selah as she tries to deal with and overcome her fears and her past. It's a realistic view of real life for many people. I like that the book was not all sugar-coated as they showed their individual struggles in life.

Although this was book three, it clearly can be read as a stand-alone. I have read book two, although not book one.

The cover is also so nice. I really liked it! Had to say something about that, too! All in all, I loved it. No dull reading time in between, totally engaging and realistic in every way. Levi and Selah's characters were so believable. Great book, great author!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

  • Paula

This is a beautifully written story I enjoyed reading very much! Selah is battling with clinical depression, and panic attacks. She meets Levi, who soon becomes her boss at the inn. Working together, she tries her best to keep a distance with him, swearing she will never care for another man after her terrible relationship with an Englisher. But Levi is so easy going and such a nice guy, she fails miserably. Levi has never allowed himself to care for any girl, but he can't help but be drawn to Selah. Wonderful and clean story!

  • Mayda

Selah returns to Birch Creek, and ultimately gets a job as a maid at Levi’s family’s inn. She is still fighting clinical depression, and is sometimes overcome by it. Levi knows something is wrong, and wants to help her. His feelings toward Selah soon develop into something more than mere friendship, and though Selah is also attracted to him, she doesn’t trust him or any man. Meanwhile, Cevilla and her English boyfriend are becoming much closer, but Cevilla knows that unless he becomes Amish, they can never be more than friends. This story covers a lot of ground, and with an interesting cast of characters, there is never a dull moment in this final installment in the series.

  • Leah

This is set near Christmas. It brings back characters from Words from the Heart and The Teacher's Bride. There are also some new characters. The story is told by four characters, but the story focuses on two of them. There is romance and family and health and forgiveness and faith in this story.

  • Tina

I just finished reading this lovely story, which is the book #3 in Amish Brides of Birch Creek written by Kathleen Fuller. Thank you for writing a story centered around God, but bringing real life problems to Amish Fiction readers. Your protrayl of depression and what one goes through was so very touching and Selah was the perfect character to be dealing with real life issues. You will find this book a refreashing read in Amish Fiction.
