When Grayson Barker lost his leg during his last deployment with the Marines, he might as well have lost his life. He’s gone aimless and bitter, and even though he knows his friends and family are just trying to help, he’d much prefer it if everyone just left him alone to rot. Having PT isn’t going to help him get his life back - even if his therapist does funny things to his libido.
"I keep it casual. Not because I don’t love anyone, but because I do. And those you love always hurt you the most."
Dylan Wexler doesn’t work with vets. He’d spent too long as a child dealing with his father’s PTSD that spiraled into abuse, and while he might be mended physically, the scars his father left behind still cut deeply every day. But having friends means making sacrifices, and when he’s talked into helping Grayson learn to walk with his prosthetic leg, he’s determined to his best work. Even if the man drives him to distraction.
Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every book in the Worth It series can be read on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This book features a heart of stone, the patience that heals it, and a sensual threat to so many professional ethics.

Ive enjoyed this whole series so far and am always excited for the next one. I suppose to could be read as a stand alone since this is s separate love story about another couple but I feel it's best to read them in order to know who all the characters are and how they each fit into their roles in this current stories characters lives. greyson was just discharge from the marines and lost his leg and is learning to cope with his new life and struggling with PTSD. His brother caleb decideds to hire him someone to help him learn to adjust to only having one leg and his prosthetic and their friend benji happens to know just the guy . Dylan receives a call from an old friend and benji knew Dylan always wanting a reason to move there so offering him a job to help a struggling marine seels the deal even though he hesitates at first because of his past with his father who also had PTSD. he wasnt sure he was ready to go there again but he took a chance with greyson and as much as he tried fo remain professional, a romance developed between the two. but greyson still battles with memories of when he was deployed and until he can get help and admitt he needs it, Dylan doesnt think things can proceed any further between them. This was was a really good read and I enjoyed the story in it and felt like it was well done. there was some cute, funny and steamy parts also but I like how there was more story and how it brought awareness to PTSD and how it can affect a person's life and other people's lives around them. grayson used Dylan as a distraction and as crutch and depended fully on his desire and feelings for him to make everything else go away instead of focusing on truly healing and working on loving himself again and learning to truly come face to face with his inner struggles. Grasyon also realized he had to first learn to love himself before he could love another person.I was happy to see a sneak peak of what the next story will be about and cant wait to read fins story. I really enjoyed his character in every book so far.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Worth It series and features Dylan and Grayson. Gratson is a former marine who lost his leg in battle and is not adjusting well. Grayson's brother Caleb, Who we met in the first book, asks Benji for help and Benji calls his friend Dylan, who is a physical therapist. Dylan agrees to come to Worthington to see Grayson and try to help him. Dylan was nervous to see Grayson because his father was a marine who was abusive to Dylan and he was worried about bringing memories back. When Grayson met Dylan, he was a jerk and angry. Dylan wouldn't give up on Grayson and made him try to get used to his new leg. After a few weeks of working hard, Grayson was making progress and he decided it was all due to Dylan. Grayson kissed Dylan and Dylan was attracted to Grayson, but worried about seeing a patient socially. Dylan and Grayson were both wanting to act on their attractions and when they finally do, they fall into a relationship, but Dylan is still worried about Grayson and his mood swings. I really liked this book, i thought Dylan was so compassionate with Grayson and really wanted him to get better. Grayson had to realize he needed help and he couldn't expect Dylan to fix him fully. Grayson was so hurt from his time in the marines and he was a lot stronger than he thought. Another good one.

I’m becoming a big fan of Peter Styles and his m/m stories I really enjoy reading them and I loved this story it broke my heart with Grayson and Dylan. Grayson was in the marines in his last deployment he lost his leg and he became a very bitter and angry man. He knows that there are people who care for him but it doesn’t matter he wants to be left alone in his misery. Dylan is a physiotherapist he doesn’t want to work with vets especially after his father who suffered from PTSD abused him physically and emotionally but he gets talked into helping Grayson which is a disaster at first but there is an attraction and they managed to break each other’s walls down and fall in love. I didn’t think that my heart was going to take all of this sadness I cried like a baby with this story but don’t get me wrong it isn’t all just sadness and gloom there were some funny scenes as well. This is such a fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I just recently discovered Peter‘s books and I have to say I love them. He puts everything into a story what satisfies me as a reader. Lots of emotions and hot encounters. A little drama and fun times are also included. This is the second in the Worth it Series and describes the story of Grayson, the brother to Caleb from book one. He needs physical therapy, and that comes in form of Dylan. Their attraction grew from day to day. I loved reading their story and how their relationship grew. The ups and downs. The end of this book let’s me know there will be another part. Can’t wait for Finn’s and Houston’s story.

I tried to read a second book by this author with an expectation that I'd enjoy it more than the first. I didn't. I ended up DNFing at 90% due to the over the top out pouring of romancey words that didn't fit the story. I know it's fictional, but I've never heard men talk like that in my life. Sorry, not for me. The writing itself was decent. The plot, okay. I was certain it would be close to a 4 stars about halfway through. These books are just not for me. I need something with more depth, and build. But I can see why some would love them if you like squishy romances.

I read this in one session. I enjoyed it more because of the introduction to Grayson in Book 1 and recognized that he was someone I wanted to know more about. I have a soft spot for stories about veterans and this didn't disappoint. Both main characters have an abundance of strengths, but have their weaknesses too. They fight to overcome these, apart and together, and this makes the book for me (along with the awesome heat between Grayson and Dylan). I am now looking forward to Finn's story after the teaser in this book!

Grayson is struggling with his lost leg after a tour in the Marines. Dylan is a physical therapist who usually doesn't take veterans. Dylan tells Grayson he needs to get help for all his troubles. He lies and doesn't go to the doctors office. Dylan leaves and after he hears Grayson finally goes to the doctors. They resume the relationship they started before Dylan left.

This book hooked me from the first sentence. Peter has a way of writing that makes a story come to Life. And this one is no different. I love how the main characters instantly connected yet still held themselves back. I loved every angst, funny, sexy moment.
