What is the “ecclesia”? It is the word often translated “church” in the Bible. This book is a study of what the ecclesia really is or isn’t. Today’s view and understanding of church is much different than what the Bible taught about the ecclesia. The ecclesia was more of a community of believers in Christ. It was a living organism rather than a building, rules, ordinances, mandates and hierarchy.Ron McRay has written over 40 books on different Bible subjects. He often, as he does in this book, brings a different light and way of looking at key scriptures on subjects that are common to most Christians. By reading the scriptures without the pre-formed ideas taught in most churches it is obvious that the text does not necessarily say what is commonly thought.A little bit of attention to the words of Scripture is often all that is needed to see a very different picture or story than our traditions teach.Traditions, such as the teaching of church, often take on a meaning and directive contrary to the Bible. Many of the traditions observed by many today have no origin or basis in scripture. If you are even slightly curious about church history or tradition you will enjoy reading and learning from this book. Get your copy today.

    Few Good Points

The author made some good points, although to me, the thought process in this book seemed scattered. In all honesty, I could not finish it. When the author started injecting that Speaking in Tongues” is not for today, he lost me completely. It clearly is, and has tremendous New Testament support. In short, there are many books that covers this same subject exhaustively with clear references.
