Love Story of a Commando Reviews

A nowhere book
Full of inconsistencies and spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. oh, the story
is also baseless and plotless. It is time the writer did a bit more factual research
before writing. -
The story begins with Riya's own thoughts and is narrated entirely from her perspective.
We are instantly attracted to her quirky and unusual nature which is quite charming to witness. Riya and her friends have ditched their college class in favor of spending some quality time browsing the streets and shopping. When they by chance happens over an art exhibition, it seemed like a good idea to them at that time to enjoy it for a bit.
That is where she meets her prince charming or rather knight in shinning armor (in this case military uniform)
It was love at first sight.
At least it felt so in her part but the charming person had no issues about disappearing on her after that day. They next happened upon each other on the Taj Hotel which was being massacred by the terrorists.
I found the fact quite unsettling that despite getting separated from her friends she never once tried looking for them or asked Virat anything about them while they cozy-ed up in an empty suit and had sex? Isn't that completely unnatural?
Besides are black cats even allowed to break free from their groups while hunting down terrorists and spend almost more than a day with their lover making love thoroughly?
In all the documentaries that I've seen till now they ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS moved in groups and in case one got separated they always made sure to find them swiftly and always maintained contact with that left out person throughout.
However this time he did promise he would find her, he never did even after six months.
Giving up at last Riya quits her job, which felt meaningless to her and moves to Kashmir where she gets involved in a project which teaches young orphan kids.
There again fate intervenes and she is thrown o the wolves, or in her case literally into the lines of bullets and fire and bombs and smoke.
Once again Virat, the knight in shinning armor(In reality, the black cat with a machine gun) appears and she is saved, well not exactly. They still needs to climb mountains, cross forests, blow up a terrorist camp and did I say Virat was commanded to kill her by his Commanding Officer in Charge? Didn't I? Oops sorry, it must have gone out of my mind after so many action packed sequences.

I guess I was a little naïve when I started this book but I am certainly glad that I was. I had not read anything from this author before and was unaware of her skill with words. Love story of Commando is clean, classic romance, adventure and thrill tied in a package with a sweet ending. It's not just a regular romance book that we read, It's a of a girl in love with a commando in extraordinary situations.
The book starts off making you sit on the edge of your seat. A rescue operation at Taj, Assassination attack on PM, Encounter with terrorist in POK are backdrop of this amazing love story. The whole book is full of action and adventure with very good romance involved.
From the first sentence I was drawn into this story of Riya and Captain Virat. Riya met Captain Virat accidently during her visit to an art gallery after bunking a class. It was love at first sight for both. After that day they never met again until after a few years, When Riya is working in Mumbai after getting placed from college.
To celebrate the promotion, Riya and her colleagues went to Hotel Taj. The Taj was attacked by terrorists while they're having dinner. And here Captain Virat enters again in her life to save her from the attack but now he's a 'black cat' commando. After this incident Virat again disappears.
Riya, in heart broken state, left the job in Mumbai and joins a school in Kashmir as a computer teacher. Riya found this work more satisfying than her previous job. She settles there and enjoys her teaching. After about a year of Riya joined the school, Prime Minister visits Kashmir and her school. During PM's speech in her school, there was another terrorist attack to assassin PM. Though terrorist failed in their mission, but have created chaos in school and area. Here Virat enters again in Riya's life.
The overwhelming feelings, especially the love and anger and loss, are so vivid described that you'll feel for both characters. Both Riya and Capt. Virat aren't perfect. They struggle with their choices and feelings, trying to do what's best but not always succeeding.
Riya and Virat are great characters. Virat is a strong soldier, confident in his purpose with a soft heart. Riya is beautifully written, having a quiet strength, but struggling with love and questioning about the hard things she's had to endure. They play so well off one another and their chemistry is palpable, but has a solidity that goes beyond simple infatuation. Susan is another excellent supporting character that has good depth and heart touching story.
Swapnil Pandey has a gift for fantastic scene descriptions. I love the way she dives into all of the senses to give you the feeling of watching the action from a few feet away. The author made this book real with strong details about army and their life. This was a great read that I had a hard time putting down, so I'm looking forward to the next book by Swapnil Pandey. -

The cover is just perfect, given the plot and the story. To be frank, This is the best cover for this story. Better cover is a rare possibility for this.
The title "Love Story of a Commando" seems perfect as the plot is based on the love story of an Black Commando. It's simple and attractive.
The Blurb is thought provoking with the mention of the initial meetings of Virat and Riya.
This is the story of Riya, who is from millennial generation and Captain Virat, a Black Cat commando with NSG. Virat is willing to do anything for his country, like any other army men.
But their story begins at an art exhibition in Delhi, and is setup in Mumbai as well as Kashmir.
The story is a real thriller. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down till you complete it.
The language used is really good. The narration is simply interesting and both the characters are crafted beautifully that they feel so real.
I somehow got involved with the plot, thinking about what will happen next in the story. This is an story of love, affection, courage, duty, heart, and honour.
To sum it up, it is an unpredictable tale with an thriller experience.
It's a recommended read for book lovers who like to read thriller or romantic stories. -
Written with the Sterne and disciplined environment of Military this Romance fiction takes you on a journey to experience the wonder and witness one of it's own kind of love story.
Whenever the word love story hits our mind what we expect is "A boy and A girl, city life, dating, enjoyment or sadness with little drama".
But when it comes to writing the love story of a commando, things are very much opposite. Author cannot go with the same protocols.
With a powerful start and jump into the introductory love expectations of a girl with modern dream. Author writes, what it needs to fall in love and exactly what it is to fall in love "with a commando".
With life on the brink of gunpoint and in between a tumultuous battle brought to the valley by an event things change.
Accompanied with some twists and turns, mixed with Elements of a cute romance novel this amalgamation doesn't fails to please me.
But that's true that this story holds a narrow audience, we cannot expect it to be what it is and what it represents.
With sharp narration style and story telling the story proceeds at a normal pace, engaging the reader. But as the story concept is good the narration could have been more intense and pleasing. I will have to say that with this story many things branch, and expectations sprouts. It is a good story and it's short length makes it an easy read.
The cover could have been better, though it gives the sense of what's inside an appealing cover would have been praised. -
A book worth reading for everyone who wants to know about the heroes!❤️

"Chaos is the ultimate truth and control is a myth!"
Laden with romance, suspense, thrill and humour 'Love Story of a Commando" by Swapnil Pandey brings to its readers a bewildering ride through the mystique and perils of a soldier's uniform tied together with an epic romance that must brave the fragility of these present times.
Riya knew nothing of passion, agony, gallantry, sacrifice and love until the day she meets Captain Virat, a Black Commando with the NSG and her heart collides with an unknown emotion and sparks fly between them. But then, Virat disappears leaving her broken-hearted. Their lives intersects once more under the burning dome of the Taj Palace hotel, but then again he leaves. Crushed, Riya leaves everything behind for the remoteness of a village in Kashmir. Her peace is again shattered when the PM's visit to the valley brings violence and gunfire back to her life. Virat and Riya meet again in a dangerous situation behind the enemy lines in PoK. Now, Virat will again have to snatch Riya away from the jaws of death for them to have a happily ever after.
The book begins with "A Soldier's Letter" that gives a sneak into the upcoming tale and at once sparks a fire of curiosity and mystery in the heart of the readers, preparing them for a topsy-turvy journey ahead.
With a vivid description and swift flow, the story moves at a steady pace, juggling the scenes between horror and romance, mystery and humour, thrill and peace.
Scenes of explosion and sights of horror are so vivaciously animated that chills run down the spine as the eyes read through it. The elements of terror is so pictorially depicted that it shakes every bone to the core yet the eyes still remains glued to the pages of the book.
The life of a soldier is skillfully portrayed in the book as Virat slowly opens his heart to Riya and bares his soul for her to see his inner demons that he finds hard to handle even after being such a valiant fighter of the NSG special forces.
The astounding atmosphere of suspense, thrill, mystery and gloom is build up clause by clause as the story progresses, with the effect of raising the readers' curiosity to its topmost peak, eventually rendering the book unputdownable and showcasing the remarkable talent of the author in holding her readers' interests until the last line.
Author Swapnil Pandey didn't forget to add little comic reliefs between the horror scenes of the terrorist attack and amid the violence of gunfires, which serves as a real boon to the readers amid all the ghastly display of brutality around that threatens to murder the concept of humanity.
Irony on the politics and mockery of the social structure also shows up time and again in the story as it brings forth all the true realities of the world which most of us are completely unaware of.
Solid doses of wisdom too accompany the book as pain, struggle and love teaches a lot as it gradually takes one through the unpredictable journey of life.
Several truths regarding the uncertainty of life and the inevitability of death pops up in between the story whenever Riya and Virat find themselves struggling just to keep themselves alive; for it is always the certainty of death that teaches one the worth of life.
Hardships and sacrifices excel in teaching one several values of life as well as the true meaning of happiness as well. While the knowledge about others' miseries makes one cherish the pleasures of their own life and be thankful for everything that they still have, the things that they haven't lost completely. This is something that Riya realizes on her stay at a beautiful cottage in the remote village of Kashmir.
Beauty of nature manages to manifest itself amid the serenity of the snow-capped mountains and the overwhelming view of the setting sun between those azure mountains. Kashmir is truly a paradise and rightly called the "Heaven on Earth".
Fairy tales only tells us about the gallantry and valours of the knights in shining armour who come to rescue the girl, but they miss the part where the valiant heroes, bound by their chivalrous deeds, feel the need to be rescued too, from their own demons by opening their soul for their fair maiden to heal all its wounds. But real life makes one meet the second hidden part of the story and hence the author donot forget to highlight that aspect of life through the pages of the book.
It is not only the story of a Commando but also of all those brave women who dare to fall in love with the soldiers in spite of knowing that "the promises they make to their motherland weigh more than any other promises in the world." The book "Love Story of a Commando" is definitely a tribute to all those courageous women who stick to their vows of being a Soldier's wife forever.
The enticing title couldn't be more apt. It is definitely the love story of a Commando who is torn between duty and emotion, between the pledge to his motherland and the promises to the love of his life, between the oaths of his uniform and the vows of love.
The attractive book cover, the colour of which merges absolutely with that of a Soldier's uniform, compliments the title well, meticulously portraying a Commando standing bravely in a hazy battlefield which is deliberately blurred to contrast it with the prominent picture of his beloved who sneaks in with her expressive courageous eyes etched at the backdrop.
The character sketch is no doubt perfect. The evolution that Riya, a fun-loving jovial girl with no idea about agony, passion and sacrifice, goes through gradually as her life throws her into the lap of dangers and make her visualise the scenes of utmost horror is just mind-blowing. The inner demons of the swift, sharp, dark, lethal Black Cat Commando Virat, who has trained across the globe and wrangled with many dangerous situations, shows that a soft heart and a pure soul resides within every valiant, brave and strong-build warrior. All other characters too play their role well in bringing life to the story.
Spread with romance, seasoned with thrill and sprinkled with humour, "Love Story of a Commando" succeeds in demonstrating author Swapnil Pandey's artistic efficicacy in brewing yet another soul-captivating story straight out of the life of a Commando, the bravest warriors who dedicate their entire life so that their countrymen could sleep peacefully at night.
"After all, life has an underlying spirit to go on!" -
I tried. I truly did.
A commando having sex with his shamybe girlfriend while on an active op?!! Are you kidding me?!! And while he is at it, it is assumed that his team would not “miss” him?!!! Frankly, do you even know what a Black Cat is and how even the basic units of SF troops operate? Hint- look it up on YouTube.
And who proofread this book before the publishers hit the “print” button? Quite frankly, one of the worst, technically incorrect, factually incoherent, broken story lines I have ever read in a book. And trust me, this is me being kind.
Chetan Bhagat’s books should be nominated for a Booker as compared to this.
Dear Author - You really need to do your research and then write a story. Read some military fiction and see how much effort has gone into getting every detail almost to perfection. Some of us can differentiate between an AK and an AR platform you know?
Definitely not recommended. I actually feel sorry for writing this review but I just can’t help it. -
I was really impressed by the Solider's Girl and that's precisely why I purchased Love Story of a Commando. But, man! What an insult to all the readers of the book?!! The book is both - baseless and pointless, with grammatical errors and punctuation flaws on almost every page. If you really wanted to TELL us a story, you could have recorded a video, why bother writing a book??
It seems like all Virat is worried about is Riya's life and some missions are thrown in just to keep up to the fact that it's a commando's story, after all. The book is bland and boring. Honestly, this book did not speak to me at all. Sorry, Swapnil but, the magic that worked last time with Solider's Girl hasn't worked this time. -

Review-
Swapnil Pandey's romantic fiction novel "Love Story of a Commando" is the love story of story of Riya and Captain Virat. Well I would say it's not just a book, but its an journey of emotions, feelings and sacrifices. This is the story of Riya, who is from millennial generation and Captain Virat, is a Black Cat commando with NSG.
I must say it is one of the best Indian author book I ever read. The book starts with a letter from Commando, and I assure you that this letter will melt your heart and bring tears to your eyes.
Now let's move towards the story,
Riya and her friends have ditched their college class in favor of spending some quality time browsing the streets and shopping. She was appreciating a painting in Art Exhibition in which a princess on a horse was kissing a warrior in armour who was standing with a sword handing at his side. That is where she meets virat. It was love at first sight.
Virat soon disappears, after very moment, leaving Riya heart broken.
Riya thinks of starting afresh, and forgetting all the memories but then they meet again, this time, under the burning dome of the Taj Hotel.
While this time he did promise he would find her, but he never did. And after six months Riya give ups at last and quits her job and moves to Kashmir where she gets involved in a project which teaches young orphan kids.
What happened next in the story ? Did Riya and Virat ever meet again ?
Well not being a spoiler anymore ,Read the story and find all the answers. so just go and grab this amazing novel,And Thnk me later.
Language and Narration-
The language is lucid and also perfectly written what should be in a perfect novel. Narration of the novel is simple and really nice. All the characters are well crafted. This is an story of love, affection, courage, honour , and duty.
Book Cover and Title-
The cover of the book is so beautiful and catchy but I would like to say I didn't find any sense of love in it. Rather than cover page of a love story it seems like a war story of a commando, overall its nice.
The title "Love Story of a Commando" seems perfect as the plot is based on the love story of an Black Commando, It is catchy and apts well with the theme and also completely justifies it. Both are so awesome that it can make any romantic fiction lovers to pick up the book.

Review-
A pinch of love has what shown it's magic in this book. Author has truly won my heart with the way every part and every scene has been narrated. With very less complications, unlike many other books author has not kept the suspenses much confusive and instead made every word deliver a pinch of love to the readers heart. Straight from the bottom of the heart, author has very well penned down this book and made it a worthy read. Being a writer I personally learnt many other things from this book in a one single read. That's what the books have to be like. You just don't feel like making a pause and resuming the read some other day. The moment Riya slipped into Captain's arms, this book has been the only view to my eyes until it was an end to this amazing read.
A worthy read and filled with feelings/attachments and sacrifices made by our soldiers, this book will truly touch your heart.

Rating-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐
As the title of the book suggest it is about a love story between a black cat NSG commando Virat and a corporate lady Riya.Although I read many love stories but must say this love story consist of mixed emotions.Riya was 19 when she met Virat in an Art exhibition. The way they met was very filmy.Riya's world revolve around David Guetta,Ed Sheeran and fantasy world. She helped Virat in choosing few paintings and Virat asked her for coffee but she was late for her hostel.Virat took his number but the sad thing was he never called her.She was regretting for not asking for his number. She was feeling sad deeply.Six months past by the time she completed her engineering and she shifted to Mumbai. She had to struggle initially in her new liberated world but soon she started enjoying her new life and deep inside in her heart Virat was present. But things doesn't go so smooth.Riya and her friends went to Taj for celebrating their promotion party and all of a sudden everything changed. There was a terror attack in Taj and luckily Virat with his pack was send for rescue.Riya couldn't believe her eyes when she saw Virat saving her.Virat saved her life in every possible way and last thing he said 'I will find you'.She was depressed due to the incident. She left her corporate job and went to Kashmir to join as a computer teacher in Tral. She started teaching computer to the orphans and soon adapted there. But something different was written in her destiny. There was a Prime Minister's visit in the school. When Prime Minister get down from his vehicle she again saw those black cats and she could sense the presence of Virat which she don't want to.There took place explosions to harm Prime Minister. But Prime Minister was save. Both Riya and Virat was lost in a dense Himaylan jungle of PoK.They expressed their feeling to eachother there and made love in the jungle. Then two more commandos came to help them to get out of PoK and finally they were able to escape by fighting with the millitant. After that Virat and Riya started enjoying their love life to the fullest. -
'LOVE STORY OF A COMMANDO' by Swapnil Pandey is blood tingling story which will make you to experience
passion, agony, gallantry, sacrifice and love. The story line goes through different stages of life and makes teary eyes.
The story depicts a different angle of soldier's life, behind his patriotic face. Riya is a millennial who doesn't experience the intensity of love before until she meets Captain Virat.
Their first meeting lasts for very short duration but in typical Bollywood style,'with a falsh of second, she took him down along with her, straight to the floor'. But Virat disappears without any clue but Riya
starts flying as love bird. Soon Riya realizes the wait for Virat turning to 'endless', so she moves to Mumbai
to start a fresh. But destiny outlines their life in different way and their journey intersects again under the
burning dome of the Taj Palace hotel. Virat and Riya finds themselves very closer during rescuing operation, again
Virat fades away.
Shattered, Riya decides to take away herself from urban life-style and grabs the opportunity work for orphans
in Kashmir valley. The prime minister's visit brings violence and gunfire back into her life.
Will Virat appear this time to extricate her? If Virat comes, how she would absolve him and how Virat would
justify his dissipation.
The story comprises of 'mystery of love' and 'menace of terrorism'. The author excellently narrates which keeps
me to turn the pages with excitement. The author is able to justify how powerful Love is and simultaneously
patriotism fades all emotions. Plot, characterization perfectly go with story line and author shows her brilliance.
-
Love story of Riya and Captain Virat start when they meet by chance or the destiny at an Art Exhibition in Delhi. The story has a unique narration where the present goes on, along with a parallel backdrop of events happening. The picture of collision at the Exhibition had a backdrop of where, how and why, a girl like Riya landed in there. Well, love at first sight happened when Riya ran into Captain Virat dressed in his olive green. That demeanor of an Army officer had smitten Riya, and she was quite oblivious about the feeling, but definitely wanted to acknowledge the spark between them. Of course, where there is an Army officer, there will be departures. Painful one, even more painful when you don't have a contact number or his whereabouts. Destiny played a horrific, yet mesmerizing romantic scene with Riya, when Captain Virat saved her during the attack on Mumbai's Taj Hotel. The act where he saved her from the swimming pool after the blast was my favorite (as I thought). Amidst the terror attack, there was an angry woman fighting with her love. The emotions have been well-portrayed by the author where the switch happens from sad to angry and of course a passionate romance existed between the two. While dropping Riya out, Captain Virat uttered "I will find you". Thus, this statement never left her and she went miserable thinking about him. When she took a job in Tral, Srinagar, she was oblivious of twist and turns life had planned for her. Will Captain Virat make it alive? Will they reunite?
-
"Love Story Of A Commando" by Swapnil Pandey holds the love story of a girl Riya and Captain Virat. The cover of the book has been designed beautifully. I strongly feel no other cover could do full justice. The blurb of the book broke my heart into million pieces. The book starts with a letter from Commando, A black cat. I swear this letter will melt your heart and bring tears to your eyes. Love at first sight is something most of the people have experienced in their life and so as a reader, I could connect well. The love story of Riya and Virat begins at an art exhibition. But then Virat leaves Riya in between and disappears. Riya with her broken heart decides to start fresh in life when she meet Virat again her life. I strongly feel this becomes the most difficult situation in one's life. Although, with many twists and turns, the author has very well portrayed this storyline. This book made me so emotional all together but still I would recommend this to everyone because the ending has its own story and I am sure one will enjoy all the emotions that this book holds within its pages.

"Once you fall in love with a man in uniform, how can you expect a normal love life?" -
Swapnil Pandey, Love Story Of A Commando
Publisher - @westland_books
There is something about violence, you never get used to it. Every annihilation leaves a permanent scar on your soul which you know you have to live with for the rest of your life.
Virat is a Black Cat Commando and there is nothing in this world he is not trained to handle, except for the scars that are inflicted on his soul but this is not his story. This is the story of the girl who fell in love with him, Riya, the modern girl, who knows only one way of living and that is on her own sweet terms.
Magic happens when they meet for the first time kickstarting a series of events in the universe. Torn between wanting to have a normal love story and a fairy tale, will Riya manage to get his knight in shining armor to settle down with her?
I liked the book and it kept me hooked till the very end because of just one question, will they be able to work it out, something you need to figure out by yourself. -
Pros :
The story travels from Delhi to Mumbai to Kashmir and gives the readers, the essence of those places.
The plot is unique and it gives an insight to how the life of commandos will actually be and also about their commitments.
The authoress successfully injects the emotions into readers mind and the excitement of entering inside Taj for the first time is an exemplar for that.
The language is lucid and the choice of words make it an easy read.
The title gives a deep insight to the story but the blurb gives out almost all of the story.
The editing and presentation is appreciable. And the divison of the story into multiple chapters makes it a comfortable read.
Cons :
The narration is good but it failed to entice me as it is more like diary entries of the protagonist, since it was monotonous and successive sequence of events.
The story stands away from reality.
With no twists, the book is a flat and quick read.
The cover page aptly suits the plot of the story but it could still be improvised to become an attention grabber -
Mildly impractical and a far cry from reality, this is a book where the story takes precedence over the factual content. Predictable plot and a clichéd ‘happily-ever-after’ make this story as dry as dust. However, I liked the first half. The narrative seemed stronger and the characterization of Riya was palatable. Fast forward to the second half- the narrative loses its charm because of the unessential descriptions and a minimal number of dialogues. Riya comes across as ‘the girl next door’ who lives in a fool’s paradise, waiting for her prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet! But fate pierces her delicate bubble when she falls in love with a commando- an undaunted mat-at-arms, Virat. Riya and Virat seize what little time that is offered to them for love- then they part again- and finally, meet again never to part again (sounds too familiar, isn’t it?).

Love story of a commando is the story of two people, Riya and Virat, who despite being completely opposite to each other, were always meant to be together.
Riya, a complete millennial, and Virat, a black cat commando, fall in love when their paths cross at an exhibition. Unsure of their future, they part ways but destiny plays its game and again brings them together.
But this time will they be able to work up a future together or will they again become prey to uncertainty?
Will there be any happily ever after for them?
This book will make you feel so lucky that you have peace in your life. The agony and pain of people who are always under the fear of attack is so well described that your heart will reach out for them. The pain and despair of a soldier and his mate are vividly expressed. The story is something that is really going to touch your heart. -
focus on themed literary meets, high teas and welfare functions and deal with long (unexpected) circumstances, extraordinary challenges, a little heartache and, well, growing up. In the mysterious and grand world of Army culture, protogonist learns that walking in high heels is okay as long as you don't trip on combat boots.Yes, it really is a new world. Let this quirky, hilarious story of the first year of Army life show you that the spice to a soldier's life is most definitely his better, very strong, bloody extremely elegant, never-cussing, witty, warm and passionate half, his loved ones. Go through this book .. and it's necessary

May be it is always Good to be loved.. But if a commando loves you it is going to be an extraordinary love story with lots of different emotions and this book is about those emotions, the feeling of love, feeling of separation, feeling of heart broken.. After reading this book and being a fan of Armed forces from childhood I am speechless to describe how it feels when you start loving the characters of a simple book.. I love the way it is written.. I am waiting for the next Book like I was waiting for this one.. ♥️
