Cal was the pride of his pack until they learned he was broken. He can bond to any alpha but his bond marks always fade. A burden on his pack, he was alone and ignored until his uncle found a use for his unique ability: ensnaring alphas for their pack’s fighting ring. But the things his uncle makes him do are slowly tearing Cal apart. When Drew’s bond mark doesn’t fade, Cal knows he’s in a world of trouble. Bonded to the alpha he trapped, he fears what will happen when his pack, and Drew, learn the truth.
Drew’s fury is tempered by the growing realization that Cal is just as much a captive as he is, manipulated into doing terrible things out of loyalty to his pack. If Drew has any chance of escape, he’ll need Cal’s help. More than that, he wants to get the omega to freedom, to safety. Maybe there’s no bond between them but he can’t shake the feeling there’s a connection there. And if that connection turns out to be more than skin-deep, can they break away from the chains of their pasts to be together?
Entrapped is a novel-length read, containing mpreg, knotting, a hard-won bond, some difficult themes, and scenes not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.
Entrapped: The Alpha and the Captive (Briar Wood Pack #5) Reviews

Everything was going so well until
Claire Cullen suddenly decided to kill off a beloved supporting character. It definitely was unnecessary in my opinion and I just kept thinking about the death despite loving everything about two MCs. So I guess it’s me and not the book. Eh, you can’t love everything you read.
3 why, oh why, oh why stars

Okayish book. Okayish series, review to come (if I don't forget)
-
I was hoping love this final book in the series more than I did. Unfortunately I didn't love Drew or Cal and I didn't appreciate the author killing off a loved side character at the end there. Overall this was a solid series that I'm glad I read.

Now enough time had passed (or I read enough other books in between) that I felt ready to give this another go. Because I just can't help myself and also I hate unfinished business.
And I wanna laugh and cry, because I will basically repeat everything I wrote in my reviews of the previous books. How is that saying again about the definition of madness?
Anyway, so I started reading and got completely absorbed again. I flew through the first 100 pages and loved every second.
And then it was over, the situation resolved and the rest of the book dragged and dragged and just wouldn't end. First we got the obligatory loop repeated in every Claire Cullen book ever about the mating and bonding and heat and baby. A little extra burst of action without any build up featuring the same enemy and the same pattern as in all the previous books. And then there were countless chapters each reading like an epilogue and they were all followed by yet another epilogue. Ugh.
I've never been this close to not finishing a book at 95%.
I was so glad when it was finally over and yet I'm fairly sure you'll find me reading another Claire Cullen book sooner or later. There's just something about them drawing me in - and the real reason I get so mad about all the things I want to be different is that I actually think I could love them so much if they were just tweaked right here and there. We'll see. -
I honestly don't know why I waited so long to read this series by one of my favorite authors, because each book was better than the last! (I do know the reason. It's the covers. Sorry. 😂)
I died over Drew throwing himself back into the world of fighting because it was all he had ever known and he was good at it. He didn't know what to do with a life free and happy with his brothers and without the potential of a future family because of what the fight rings had done to him. But he was supposed to be doing it on his own terms. Until he wakes up in bed with an omega he's drunkenly bonded himself to, and then winds up trapped and forced to fight for a pack that finds him expendable.
Cal was kind of amazing, and my heart broke for him and how he had been emotionally manipulated by his uncle into using his body to lure alphas to the pack to be used. I died over how he didn't want to and how his uncle used him as a reward for the fighters who won. I liked how Drew made him realize that he was as much a victim and a prisoner as Drew was. I liked how he was the one to reach out to Griffin and help orchestrate the breakout.
I loved how Cal and Drew formed something real and died over how Cal was panicking over the mark never fading and how he was pregnant and didn't know what Drew would think--how he was afraid Drew would think he had trapped him after all. I liked how Drew never really questioned their bond because he felt it even when Cal told him it wasn't real. My heart when Drew would lay claim to Cal when he won a fight simply to give him a peaceful night.
Griffin and the others coming for Drew without question or hesitation and welcoming him back was the best. I love the bond between the brothers and how Griffin finally has them both back after spending so many years searching for them. I love their family and bond. I love how Cal finally got to be a part of a real family. It hurt when his and Drew's bond mark started fading because of the blow he took from his grandfather rejecting him. I loved how they were able to strengthen their bond and how amazing the two of them were together.
This series was just so awesome, and I loved each of these couples and their amazing love stories that came out of the ashes of the tragedy they had experienced. Which isn't surprising, considering Claire Cullen blows me away with every single story <3 -
This review might sound mean, but I mean no harm, and don't mean to insult the author, I just got a lot of feelings about this book.
I love that all ends are neatly tied up, and I am a huge fan of Claire Cullen's work, but I got a bone to pick with her after this one, girlfriend done messed up and got me messed up too.
Spoilers if you haven't read.
The thing with Drew and Cal is cute, it really is. But this book just didn't have the flair the first few did, I prefer the other books, the ones where the second half is more than just slice of life and worrying. Sure. There was a big battle in the end, but still
WHAT MADE HER THINK IT WAS GOOD TO KILL OF DARCY??
Like, please, why? He was such a good side character, enjoyable to read and such a sweetie. It served no purpose to have hin die except the sadness for all the readers and characters.
It was a good read nonetheless, least favourite book of mine of Cullen yet, but maybe that is just cause I lost intereest in reading for a few days and cause Darcy died.
I still enjoy Cullen and will keep reading her books, but this one is definitely not my top pick. -
This is another amazing book in the Briar Wood Pack series. I was fully engaged from the very first page and I could not put it down. It is beautifully written, intense, emotional, gritty, fast-paced, has some surprising twists, is full of danger, heartbreakingly sad and the characters are wonderful. I am so happy that Drew gets his HEA even though there is nothing easy about his and Cal's journey. They have so many obstacles to deal with but luckily they have the entire pack supporting them. I love that Drew never blames Cal for the circumstances they find themselves in and encourages him to make his own choices. Cal's past has made him very cautious and afraid so he is unsure about the new pack he is welcomed into. There is a lot going on in this story and the characters are in constant danger but the overall feeling is hope for the future of all shifters. It's great to catch up with everyone from the previous books and I can't wait to read the next story in this fantastic series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. -
Amazing end to the series.
This is the last book in the series. It ended on a HEA, which was difficult to even contemplate in the past few books because the world is very dark and horrible. MM romance between (An)Drew, the alpha twin of the 3 main brothers, and Cal(lum), an omega mentally and emotionally manipulated and abused by his powerful pack. This series does include Mpreg. Very very dark themes and a conflicting feelings of hope and hopelessness depending on the scenes.
Huge TW to this book and the series. This one features pimping and prostitution, abusive and toxic family, death of a side character, “divorce” shifter style, and drugging side characters and mcs.
Indirectly (the book’s world) TW’s include legal s*x trafficking of all ages, forced fighting rings (even to the death), forced breeding and other horrible stuff. -
Entrapped is the fifth book in The Briar Wood Pack series by Clsire Cullen. Alpha shifter Drew is tricked into a fake mating bond and forced to fight for the omega's pack... but is the bond really fake?
Drew and Cal are fantastic characters... I love the evolution of their relationship and their chemistry. It was great seeing the other Briar Wood Pack members, too. The story is filled with all the feels... a few sad parts, some drama and action, humor, sweetness and sexytimes. Loved it!.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation -
DNF but a big fan of the series
Super disappointed with this one. I’ve been binge reading this series for like 5 days and this one was kind of a let down. First off I didn’t like the omega because well he trapped Andrew but then you get it and can kind of even move past it but Andrew is so cocky it’s annoying. Who goes back into the alpha fights after fighting to get out with barely your life? Then he says he wins every fight... not with Beau you didn’t. He just thought he was so awesome I just couldn’t like him. -
Drew’s story
Oh, I really loved Drew. He’s solid and dependable, and his faith in Cal just didn’t waiver. Considering he was a fighter he should have had a horrible temper, yet he was kind and compassionate. I liked the plot, it kept me engaged and I finished it all in one go. I did have a cry at one point, so here’s your tissue warning. This book is a definite must read. -
Another Good Story
A good addition to this series, complete with the tension, redemption, loss and love found in the first four books. It was nice to see Drew find his match and to have a resolution with some of the long-running issues in this series. Ends promising a better future. -
Nice ending
I say this was a nice ending because everything ended with a nice now wrapped around it.... I really liked Cal and Drew... Their story of them made since... I didn't like the grandfather... Nothing was really explained in how nobody knew what Thomas was doing... IMO he just didn't make sense... All in all not a bad series ... 3.5 rounded up 4 stars .... -
When you family uses you to lure people in to enslave them, who can you trust? The only one you bonded with the longest.
Great story line... very interesting, good ending though I wish it was little longer and little more was told about the other couples since this was the end. I will miss them. -
This was such an enjoyable entry in the Briar Wood Pack series. Both main characters helped each other out of their dark places, as well as working to improve conditions across their society. Loved it!

I like this series
And it was great to see Drew get his HEA. I like Cal and his story. I’m not sure if this is the end though it kind of felt like an end to a series so I’ll be curious if another comes out after. -
I got so mad at the villains in this book. The 2 MC's really needed someone in their corner. Both troubled by their past . Was rooting for them. Guess love conquers all in the end. Is this the last in the series. Really hope not

A fantastic end to the series.
Even with the unexpected death of a secondary character that absolutely broke my heart, the series ends on a beautiful note.
Highly recommend every one of these books!! -
