Knight Owls: Ready-to-Read Pre-Level 1 Reviews

This one is really cute. I don't often find early reader books that make me smile like this one did. Definitely adding to my elementary library collection!

I love the pun, but the Knight Owls are just generically positive. Not much story. Works okay as an early reader.

  • Erin

It is really hard to make an exciting and funny story at this level of easy reader. And yet it’s possible. These knight owls are super helpful and fun, and when they obtain a dragon named Phil, things just get better.

    BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K - OPTIONAL

    AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

The Knight Owls have much to do, bringing good to their kingdom. Their dragon, Phil, however, has much to learn.

I enjoyed meeting the Knight Owls, but the segue to their dragon Phil was odd and didn’t make much sense.

I saw the cover and couldn't resist the clever wordplay or medieval theme. A very cute beginning reader book! There is only about 1/2 a sentence on each page, but some uncommon words in there ("good-deeding" is darling with the rhyme but will need some explanation).

Impulse grab at the library for 'Halloween' theme in group. Because night time and costumes; about as good as I can do. Anyway, cute story for the target audience, early leveled reader. Not much there for adults. Since I am not the target audience, I won't rate.

    Too funny, love it!

    Fun, silly, rhyming.

  • Jesse

A funny rhyming easy reader; I loved it! That dragon. 👍

  • Janet

Very cute. Can't go wrong with a character that bakes a cheese pizza to please!
