5☆ Had Me Dreaming of Tuscany!
Dreaming of Tuscany is a Heartwarming read about finding oneself, friendships in a stunning location.
I'm a HUGE fan of T.A. Williams and always look forward to reading his books. Especially as i know there will always feature a gorgeous fur Baby.
This time round it's the adorable young pup Romeo. Oh how I love his name, he's a lil scamp.
Bee and Mimi both recovering from a freak accident on the stage they are working on.
Bee was in a coma and was burnt pretty badly.
So their company has asked Bee to recuperate with Mimi a Hollywood megastar as they both disappear from the press and public eye for a bit.
They end up in a remote villa in Tuscany.
Villa of Montegrifone, owned by elderly couple Umberto and Ines.
But will Bee and Mimi become friends, and will they both thrive after having time to reflect and get away from the hustle and bustle.
Can their identity and whereabouts stay a secret?
I loved Bee and Mimi's characters they are polar opposites. Mimi is a Demanding Diva and Bee is endearing, warm, kind and recovering from her burns. But in a strange way once they let their guard down they learn to compliment and accept each other it was beautiful to watch.
As always Trevor has created a Stunning location, that was seamlessly descriptive, and it made me feel like i was transported right there, I could picture and feel everything.
All the scrumptious food had my tummy grumbling.
The Characters were loveable, endearing and beautifully written.
Trevor has this wonderfull knack of storytelling with a lot of heart and passion, once you start one of his books you never want to leave it.
Dreaming of Tuscany had me doing exactly what the title suggests!
This beautifully written, enchanting story is full of warmth, love, unlikely friendships and loveable characters.
It's deliciously heart-warming, funny and feel-good, perfect for lifting your spirits with a lil piece of escapism
So Prepare to be whisked away and charmed by this utterly enchanting tale!
Thank you to Canelo for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Want a fantastic story that is easy to escape into? - then look no further, just grab your self a copy of this book! It is a brilliant, enthralling read! In this story, Beatrice Kingdom (aka Bee) has been left in a coma after an accident in which she is burnt and scarred whilst on a film set. When she awakens, she is given the opportunity to recuperate in a Tuscan villa, along with the other person injured in the accident - but that person is the film's leading lady, who has a reputation for being reclusive and unapproachable!
The story shares their interactions and growing friendship as well as how coming to terms with events also involves them in self evaluation and with serious decisions to make. There are some other great characters in the vicinity and, of course, a boisterous black Labrador -Romeo! There are family secrets, rifts and relationships as well as injuries to be healed in this fantastic story.
Whenever I discover this author has a new book being released I can't wait to read it - and this is another brilliant story from this highly talented author. I love how he brings the locations and characters to life, taking me away to be totally absorbed in the story. This one gives an insight into the fabulous Tuscany region, the sensational scenery, tasty local cuisine and so much more. The characters, as always, are believable and relatable. The relationships and secrets of the people owning and working in this amazing villa hideout are slowly revealed as Bee explores and recuperates.
It is a time of reflection, choices and relationships, a time for moving on but only after consideration, angst and turmoil. Romeo should probably be renamed as Cupid and has a significant role to play in the romantic developments in the story which is another enthralling read by this superb author. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it. In fact I can't recommend this and all the other books that I've read by this author highly enough, they're all captivating page turners that I never want to put down until I've finished them and this one definitely reached his usual extraordinarily high standard.
I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it. -
It is always a pleasure to sit down and be absorbed into a new T. A. Williams book and I'm delighted to say that this was no exception.
i loved every moment of this well written book, from its amazing descriptions of the Tuscan villa, the surrounding area, Italian food, a gorgeous man, beautiful scenery, to the fledgling friendship between Bree and Mimi.
Bree is a history specialist, and Mimi is a famous film star, and with the exception of the film they had both just been working on, the only other thing they have in common is that they were both injured in a freak accident on the film set. Which leads to them recuperating together in a remote Tuscan Villa.
I loved seeing how Bree adapted to life in the countryside, and the scenery on her many walks was really vividly described. And her regular companion while walking around the huge grounds, is Romeo.
Romeo is adorable, handsome, loyal, a huge fan of Italian food, and a fabulous companion for Bree, as he knows his way around really well. Of course Luca his owner has all those same qualities too and he and Bree seem to be on the same wave length about most things. Oh and Romeo is in fact the trademark of a T. A. Williams book, a black Labrador!
I really enjoyed every moment of this book, and would have loved the story to continue for longer, as i wasn't ready to leave these characters behind.
Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily. -
When I have a new novel from author T. A. Williams' in my tbr list, I know I'm in for a sumptuous treat - and I'm never disappointed.
Beatrice wakes up in a hospital with no memory of why she is there; discovering she's been out of it for several days comes almost as big a shock as the injuries she has sustained. When the film company she has been working for offers a summer of convalescence in a secluded villa in the Tuscan countryside, with a top Hollywood star for company, Bee realises it will give her the time and space she needs to recover. It's not until she gets there that she realises the people will play it's part too.
This is a delicious read; I doubt anyone could read it and not dream of spending a summer in these wonderful surroundings! Of course, it would have to include this author's trademark black labrador - in this novel, Romeo, who exhibits every single trait of this wonderful breed. The story has lots happening and is a delightful read. The setting is idyllic and the luscious food descriptions make me want to rush out to my nearest Italian restaurant. The complete package is, as always, a wonderfully written novel which left me with a sigh of contentment and a warm glow. I must mention the book cover which gives a hint of what's to come inside; beautifully created and makes me long for summer to arrive. I'm already looking forward to the next offering from one of my favourite authors! No less than five plump, shiny stars will do.
My thanks to publishers Canelo for my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review. -
Looking for an easy breezy summer read? Dreaming of Tuscany is perfect for that. The author's knowledge of Tuscany is apparent, and he displays in his descriptions of the countryside, the food, and the local haunts. From the first page, I found the main character, Bee, easy to identify with, a sweet protagonist.
I would have like to have read more about her inward struggle, her recovery from a traumatic brain injury, a shaved head, and a scarred cheek. These details would have made the story come to life for me, but then it would no longer be the easy breezy summer read.
No matter what, Dreaming of Tuscany is a great escape from the mundane. You won't have to hop on the bus, Gus or make a new plan, Stan. In the pages of this novel, you can set yourself free, Lee. -

Visit the locations in the novel!
Meet TA Williams here on authors on location
Sometimes, you need to read a certain book that transports to a certain time and place and makes you feel calm. I wish the villa at the centre of this story was real as I would be on the next flight out. If it made me feel as happy and relaxed as it did in the novel ,imagine its healing qualities in real life!
The setting is always the strong point in TA Williams’s novels but the stories are equally captivating and the characters heartwarming too. I enjoyed reading about the ill-tempered celebrity and the good in a crisis Gayle. Bree and Mimi start to have a good relationship and it was nice to be part of that.
The villa where they end up is remote and in the middle of nowhere. Fictional, yet TA Williams brings the scenery and the setting to life with his luscious words. He evokes the sights, sounds and aromas of that region well and I could feel the sun on my face as I imagined i was there too. Bree has to adapt to country living, well they both do. They go walking and explore the area which is when I slowed down myself and took time to imagine I could see what they could.
I’m even tempted to get a dog now that I’ve met Romeo. A dog brings people together and makes for some funny moments and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest.
It’s charming, war-hearted and just the kind of book I needed when I started it. Characters are fun and well written, Very clear to see as they come alive from the page. I had a lovely time in Tuscany and would love to return!
I wonder where TA Williams will take me next! -
I have to start by saying that this book has a very different base storyline than others I reviewed recently. Bee has had an accident and she is having to come to terms with it and recuperate. She is ushered into seclusion in order to achieve that sole purpose. The intricacies of this are better left for the pages to expand on.
The tale is about Bee and the friendships she forms, and the new-found joy in life and the summer she spends in Tuscany. I think there was so much content in this story that I would have actually liked a slightly scarred representation of the woman in the cover to suit the tempo of the tale. The place that Bee is hiding in has a dog, two interesting men who supposedly do not talk to each other and one of them doesn't talk to anyone at all. Then there is the other person sharing Bee's seclusion who turns out to be very different from what she imagines her to be. All in all, it has the best ingredients for a book of this genre. It gives us the highs and lows and the general growth of the lead character as well as all the people we get to know in the process. The problem though was the narration itself felt a little abrupt for me and I did not get as involved as I would have with the people. This usually is just a personal problem and it has happened before. I do recommend this to people who like this genre because of some of the more unique twists in the tale. -
As a fan of this author, I always go into his books with a smile in my face which remains for most of the story. This one was no different, although it starts off a little differently to previous stories.
The main character in this book, Bee, finds herself in hospital, unable to remember what has led to her being there. In an attempt to recuperate, she ends up in a gorgeous villa in Tuscany, with an actress as her companion.
As I have come to expect, the author has added a dog as one of the main characters. Romeo is a friendly and boisterous animal who very quickly befriends Bee and makes her journey back to full health that little bit easier.
Anyone who reads this may spot mention of a Scottish nanny, called Fiona, in the epilogue. That character may (it is) be based on me, something I was surprised to see. Many thanks to the author for including me in his story.
Thanks also to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy. -
Beautiful Holiday romance set in Tuscany , Itally .
Bee has gone through a life threatning accident which left her face scarred . She was offered a vacation time in Tuscany with world famous actress Mimi Robertson .
There she makes friends people living around the villa and a black labrador Romeo .
Holiday Romance became my favourite genre in the last couple of months . This book made me want to live in Tuscany . I loved how Bee got confidence and made Mimi to come out of her suite and explores beautiful places with her .
If you love reading travel romances and cozzy cottage books then you should give it a try . -
Started off well and thought it was going to be another hit for the author. But it very quickly went downhill and became very mundane. They had the location, the beautiful villa but sadly no excitement to keep my interest
-
Cute little story. Easy read. I became bored halfway through but did finish. Not sure I’ll try this author again.
-
Lovely romance with beautiful descriptions of Tuscany
-
I can't tell you how much I absolutely fell in love with this book. It was heartwarming, an easy and very enjoyable read. I fell for the cover as soon as I saw it, the picture even looks hot! I love the beautiful flowers, the villa in the background and of course the really cute labrador at the front of the cover. This cover screams summer and will instantly make you want to go on holiday. I absolutely adore it.
For the story, I really loved it. And I mean, really, really loved it. I really enjoyed Bee's character, she seemed sensible but very easy to relate to and I adored her relationship with the famous Mimi by the end of the novel. Another character I found myself warming too was the brilliant Riccardo, I really felt for him - he had been through so much in his life and I was happy with how his life turned out in the end. And of course, I loved Luke (or Luca) and his dog Romeo (who was possibly my favourite character ever), every character was just lovely and I very much enjoyed reading about their blossoming relationships.
The storyline was fantastic, Bee woke up in an Italian hospital after she was involved in an accident on the film set she was working on, as compensation the company invited her to spend a few months recuperating in a beautiful Tuscan villa in the middle of nowhere. Bee automatically falls in love with the place and the people who love there, and with one more than the others - Luke the estate manager. As the days get hotter, Bee realises that she doesn't want to get into any sort of relationship, leaving her heart breaking at the prospect of leaving Luke in Italy.
The storyline gets better and better as the pages go on, and whilst nothing huge nor significant happens, it's still just a beautifully written novel and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Thank you to Netgalley for a chance to read this novel, which I have reviewed honestly. -
There is something about this author's books that draw you in to a particular place. I loved reading about Tuscany - you could feel the Mediterranean heat hit you as you turn the page ( and I'm not just talking about the climate). Because the reader becomes so engrossed with the characters, it makes it an easy book to read and I really didn't want to put it down. Luscious descriptions of the Tuscan countryside mingled with delicious aromas of Italian delicacies and this is a winner. It's the next best thing to going on holiday.

After an accident on set of a movie she was working for, Beatrice Kingdom wakes up in hospital with multiple burns and scarring covering her head and face. Bee is given the opportunity to recoup in Tuscany and keep film star Mimi Robertson company where she winds up forming close friendships with all the people (and canines) who run the remote Tuscan Villa.
This is my second novel by T.A Williams and I love that his books have a lovable canine counterpart that always winds up playing Cupid in the most endearing ways.
Williams’ stories also are so beautifully descriptive that they transport the reader to the heart of lush and historical Italian scenery.
While romantic, this novel wasn’t over the top with cliches. The characters are likeable and while they all have their own quirks and problems to deal with, it always works out in mysterious and heart warming ways.
A scenic read that will have you escaping to Italy, tasting the cuisine, making new friends and hesitating to leave. -
What a joy to read a well-written, well-plotted novel. This is the 2nd book I've read by T.A. Williams and he is now high on my "to read all his works" list. There is not a lot of action in this book but it is absolutely ideal for a summer sojourn at home while we are all isolated by co-vi-19.
If you can't go for a holiday anywhere while this situation goes on, then 'Dreaming of Tuscany' is the next best thing and the ideal way to get a vicarious vacation in the sun. Just the right amount of mystery as well as a gentle, sweet summer romance make this the perfect book for your imposed isolation this year. -
BELLO
Romance in delightful Tuscany
Bee was caught up in an explosion at the film studios where she was working along with Mimi the main star so the studio heads sent them both to a remote place in the hills of Tuscany to recuperate and out of the spotlight. Mimi grew to love the place and it's characters. Bee wasn't looking forward to dealing with Mimi who acted like a spoilt brat but Tuscany and it's characters reached the heart of both girls. Really enjoyable reading. It made me want to pack my bags and board a flight to Tuscany. -
Art, history and romance!
If you need a "feel good" book and hope to visit Tuscany someday, you can't beat Dreaming of Tuscany". I always prefer to read books where there's good character development, and I wasn't disappointed here. And sometimes when your own life is throwing you curve balls it's a relief to read a novel where problems are solved and relationships are healed. -
As a wanna-be Provencal, this appealed to me right from the title. I was not to be disappointed, it carried my interest through to the last page, from the vivid landscape descriptions (I could feel and smell the hot air, and the wisteria…) to the excellent character development, the use of language(s) and the overall pleasure of reading a well written, well plotted and well-paced story. With a tad of ‘in-your-dreams’, but believable element thrown in. Bravo, sir!
