Ruthless Bastard. White Knight.
But I just call him “boss.”

Thomas Goldstone.
A man of billion dollar deals in custom-tailored suits, he demands more than your best.

He’s scary. Driven. Haunted by inner demons that have taken him to the brink.
But beneath the arrogant, controlling façade lies a heart of gold.
It makes me want to solve him one growly, messy piece at a time.
To be the only one who sees the truth of the man.

But I’m... me.
A pink-haired, anime-loving, data-crunching geek with an office in the basement of Goldstone HQ.
My chances with the big boss? Statistically insignificant.

His burning gaze and clenched jaw say otherwise though. Gives me hope and ignites a flame so hot my glasses fog up.
I shouldn’t mix business with pleasure.
Shouldn’t tempt the beast upstairs.
Shouldn't keep wondering...

Do fairy tales really come true?

From USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post Bestselling Author Lauren Landish comes Beauty and the Billionaire. Your favorite fairy tale with a side of... dirty. Prepare for twists you'll never see coming and loads of alpha goodness that will make your heart, and your kindle, melt.

ღ . This is a good opposites attract story- Thomas has some serious demons he fighting, Mia is straight up nerd that does not realize how beautiful she truly is… Mia is all computers, video game & anime… Thomas is all spreadsheets & profits

➳Mia Karakova has been working in the basement of Goldstone Enterprise as metadata analysis for about 6 years … And she just fine with that. But when Mia is requested to work on assignment for a short-term project team, the attraction between Mia & Thomas instant.

➳ Thomas Goldstone they call him the golden boy, he has made billion & he not even thirty yet. But they also have few other names for Thomas- like Ruthless Bastard

To be honest I am not real fan of instant love, but some how this author got me pass that… Maybe is was the fact that we had White night , or maybe cuz that there was some mystery throw into the mix , or maybe cuz there was some corporate drama or even the fact there was Lil family drama , but either I can honestly say once you get pass that instant love you’ll a very good read on your hands

Beauty and the Billionaire has got to be one of the best stories I've read from Lauren Landish yet! It was a different read from what I've come to expect from her and I loved absolutely every minute of it.

Thomas was a self-made billionaire, driven, ambitious, and determined to succeed beyond expectations. He lost his mother at an early age and endured his father's abuse for years. This all made him wary of making lasting connections, trusting in only himself.

Mia was quirky and awkward (at first) and adorable and a geek after my own heart. She also lost her mother at a young age, but it only made her appreciate her connections more. It mostly had to do with the fact that she never lacked in love. The relationship she shared with her father was sooooo sweet! And her side character besties were a hoot.

When these two meet, you could feel the sparks. It was hot and instantaneous and you knew that it was going to be explosive. This author did not disappoint. With touches of intrigue and a bit of drama, this story turned out to be an erotically romantic gem and with the way things ended, I'm hoping to get more.

Beauty and the Billionaire is unique. It is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Miss Landish adding a whole ton of twist and sexy times. The sexy times are hot and sizzle. It is very graphic, BTW. Just the way I like it.

The story is long. There is insta lust between the characters. Their romance blossomed pretty quickly. Miss Landish focusing more on the story/ plot. The relationship between Thomas and his father is complex. Yes there is a lot of emotional baggage on the story especially from Thomas side. And it is worth it to finish the book.

The character development is enough to keep the story going. I listened to the audio book version and I enjoyed it very much. A good book to start my weekday at work.

This is a one star but think of it as a nice one star because I have read books so much worse and more offensive than this but I can't get myself to give this a two.

Oh my god I'm dead. I can't stop laughing at how actually fucking wild this book was. It wasn't good at all but I found it so hilarious??? I feel like a super jerk for laughing hysterically at something that is a serious romance book but I am sorry, this really got me laughing.

I'm not repeating that ridiculous title so we can pretend this isn't some half-assed BATB retelling but this book is about Mia, a data analysis and ends up working directly for her company's CEO- well known bastard Thomas. Obviously they hit it off instantly and the rest of the book is extremely graphic smut with an emo love interest also packaged with random corporate espionage and some discount supervillain POV just to spice things up.

I was well aware going into this book that it wasn't my kind of romance novel but I still gave it a shot. The way this relationship starts is SO quick I'm still mad about it. Mia shows off her computer smarts to Thomas, they both get boners and then he invites her to a "business meeting" at a fancy restaurant and tells her to wear a nice dress. They go and he quickly is like, "we both know this isn't about work" and again gets a boner at seeing her legs (while she is going off about her arousal every time she sees him, including the first time she even saw him like 3 days ago) before they go back to his house to have sex. Build up??? Having more than one conversation first?? NOT jumping to have sex with your boss / employee that you barely know??? None of that goes here.

The writing is so embarrassing and I was cringing every other line. Mia is some anime loving super geek and wow, we are really going to hear about it. Literally every time someone describes her, (and even just randomly) she'll be like, I'M A GEEK OKAY, LOOK AT ME. I PUT COLORED STREAKS IN MY HAIR, WEAR KPOP TSHIRTS, AND PLAY VIDEO GAMES!! Also, really thanks SO MUCH for that nasty ass scene where they dress up as Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask to screw. I'm calling the police on them for ruining my childhood with their random fetish (they didn't have to wait until they were in Tokyo for that but okay.)

Thomas spends the entire book going ON AND ON about "the beast" and demon inside him and how emo he is but uhhh. He was kind of okay? Minus one scene where he gets mad and throws something, he is never anything but nice to Mia. He is super gross and controlling in that he also keeps repeating how much he owns her and how much he wants to claim her but it never goes anywhere besides him growling all the time about it. Plus the dude donates money and his time to orphans but go off about being a monster I guess.

The rest of the book is just so hilariously bad. It is shockingly boring, filled with a mix of smut, angst, cringy fluff, and weird attempts at making this an exciting book. It makes sense that this book would be lacking in good plot or character and relationship development, but the attempts at trying really just got me laughing. We all know what this book is for and let's not pretend people are reading this for some random company spies. This is just a personal thing but ew lol that smut just grossed me out. While I think smut is fine and I like it when it matters, I have to care about the characters being together and obviously I never had time when they just instantly jumped in bed together.

It might just be the sleep deprivation that made this book so funny to me because boy was it a wild mess. Still reading the sequel though.

Hello, swoon! Lauren Landish is back with a brand new twist on an old fave you totally need in your life. Beauty and the Billionaire is all the broody, beastly goodness the title suggests and so much more.

Tall, dark, hot, and haunted is a potent mix for any nerd girl who's just been hired on to work for the infamous Thomas Goldstone. Then she meets her boss, the beast himself upstairs. Fantasies aren't what they seem. But twisted fairy tales? Oh, mama.

    Truly a one-click to remember.

  • Never Stop Reading or Dreaming

I had to DNF this. No matter how hard I tried i couldn't get passed how boring it was. Man did I try. First, I only bought this book since the FB ad showed a plus size woman, and the h was NoT plus size. Which is fine. And second, they sleep together really fast. There was like no story there it was just boom, you are on this time I like you I'm gonna do you, and it happened like that. I made it to chapter 12 and just can't do it anymore...

I feel like I must have read a different book from everyone else who left such glowing reviews. This book is unbelievably boring and trite. It's like 50 Shades meets *snore*. Seriously.

  • Ofelia Castaneda-Gutierrez

Nice steamy story. Now on the 2nd book of the trilogy but they can each be read as a stand alone story, for those wondering. To me they're just better if read in order.

  • Somia

An enjoyable read as opposites fall for each other. The chemistry between the main characters was depicted well, and I loved how Mia embraced her geek nature and never tried to be anything else but who she is.

Mia was a fab fit for Thomas, who is referred to by many as The Ruthless Bastard because of how hard he pushes everyone in his company and how he can easily rip an employee to shreds if they don't meet his expectations. He expects perfection and that's down to years of physical and mental abuse from his horrid father.

You can't help but fell for Thomas throughout the book, especially when he was in conflict with the inner voice which was harsh and critical. Mia helps to quieten the voice but not totally.

A enjoyable read acquired via KU.

I closed the kindle at 18% and couldn’t read on. Time
    to call it a night.

Luckily this was on kindle unlimited so I haven’t lost anything - other than my time.

While the writing wasn’t great, the premise of the book sounded interesting.

I forced my way through the first few chapters and it seemed to pick up. The Heroine stands up to hot arsehole boss at work, he’s taken a back and turned on... the start of some angst, maybe?

    Yeah...Nope.

He immediately tells her to meet him at 8pm that night. Which she does and they giggle and flirt and fall into bed -immediately.

No angst; no build up. And no desire to read on.

Wow, oh wow! I fell in love with Mia straight off the bat. Her personality was unique and she was quirky, fun loving, anime obsessed, death metal loving chick. And awesome at her job. She doesn't take no cr*p from anyone, even Thomas! She loved her Father and her friends with everything. She was the only one who got see the real Thomas and his softer side. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and their sex life was so, so hot.

Thomas! Well what can I say about him? Well he's called The Ruthless Bastard because of how hard he pushes everyone in his company and how he "blasts" them off. But he expects perfection and that's down to years of physical and mental abuse from his dear old dad. I felt for Thomas on a regular basis while reading this book. My heart broke for him numerous times when he revealed things to Mia. The inner voice, his demon, was harsh and critical of him in everything he does but then along comes Mia and she helps to quieten the voice but not totally.

There's someone out to get Thomas and he has someone on his side that works within Goldstone Inc. and hes sabotaging Thomas's company but no one notices until all the way through the book I thought I knew who it was but was shocked when it came out who it actually was. Totally wasn't expecting it to be who it was! And the ending!! I hope there's another book and if so, I can't wait to really it.

The things I read because my friends insist I get to the sailor moon roleplay 😭

Okay so, this is DEFINITELY a one-star book, but like Jaye said: it was hilarious and kinda fun to read.

This is supposed to be a beauty and the beast retelling but let me assure you - it is NOT. Our beauty is a girl named Mia who is a geek (pls don't worry if you forget this at first, she will remind you at least 60 times) who works at a company owned by a billionaire named Thomas. I think it's a company that works entirely on investments? Sounded too much like Christian Grey stuff (ofc this guy has mommy issues too) so it's just more of "buy things, make money weeeee".

This is insta-love to such an extent it's almost jarring. They meet, they have one conversation, they're fking. And then once it starts there's no real issue, honestly. There's tension because, of course, there's a plot to take all of Thomas' success and Mia is used in it because "she's his weakness!!" but other than that it's just consistently happy smut times with really cringy writing. The climax of the book is a "misunderstanding" that just "scares" Mia and has no real weight on their relationship other than "omg the people think you're bad!! You're not bad!!!" and I just wanted off the wild ride of their weird relationship that had no actual chemistry or bond, just sex.

I need books with either decent mommy issues or none at all (preferably none). We have a scene where Thomas is having a flashback about his mother (who is of course portrayed as a whore who killed herself when she got caught cheating) calling him Tommy, and then the next scene is him LOVING when Mia calls him that in bed. It was way too much. There were way more dramatic issues with his father, he didn't need to consistently think about his mom calling him his new girlfriend's pet name.

There's a scene where he takes her to Japan (framed as a work trip ofc because our Beauty is a career woman!!) and they dress up as Sailor Moon characters. Mia even has her outfit tailored for this, and it's... ridiculous. The amount of times she refers to her "pussy clenching" and how excited she is to see him dressing up to "get into her nerdy stuff" read like someone who had never been dating a dude who didn't like the same stuff. I usually just read smut for the plot development of it (you laugh but I like the culmination of feelings!!), and here it was just smut for the sake of smut in ridiculous scenarios.

This book sets up for a sequel with a hired assassin, and as much as I want to listen to the parts of myself that know it was bad!!!!! - I know I'll probably read it if Jaye forces me.

    Thomas & Mia
Office romance can be so questionable especially when he is the hard nosed, secretive, stoic boss that runs the company like his life depends on it. When Mia the fun, quirky, brilliant data analyst is asked to join a progressive group at the office she has her qualms . She is used too being in the shadows as she has for the past six years but her amazing work soon brings her in the spotlight and in the sights of Thomas . The moment they meet each of them can feel the attraction but neither one admits it to themselves but it soon becomes too much for either to deny. Now we soon realize that Thomas has more to worry about than his company. Someone is trying to destroy his world and those around him. Now we have a sexy romance filled with mystery, intrigue and villains. Get ready for a crazy sexy ride with Thomas and Mia .

  • Lisa

This story had me so wrapped up, I spent my whole snow day curled up reading. I'll admit when I started I was a little leery. I mostly avoid books with Billionaire in the name anymore, not totally into the whole him being rich as a focus thing nowadays. I should have known better- when has Lauren ever written anything that wasn't just amazing?
Mia is quirky and nerdy and super awesome, she made me laugh and I have crazy respect for her. Thomas is rough around the edges and insecure with a huge heart, and these two fall fast. There's romance plus a mystery, as something shady is going on throughout the book. The whodunit surprised me, and I'm guessing another book is in the future even though they have a happy ending.

  • Angie

    DNF at 24%

This is not at all what I thought it would be. As many other reviewers have stated, the pacing is slow, the writing is not engaging and a bit cumbersome, and the "relationship" between Mia and Thomas went from 0 to 1000 in 0.023 seconds. I'm not opposed to insta-lust, but their first time together came out of NOWHERE and left me dumbfounded. I don't really care for Thomas as a hero, and other than him being known as "The Ruthless Bastard" I don't see how this books coincides with the Beauty and the Beast trope. Mia says she is a nerd but is of course blind to her overwhelming beauty and is irresistible to all men. Blagh. Overall, it's not for me.

  • Sara Oxton

Beauty and the Billionaire by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will turn many heads. The White Knight with a dark side, what a troubled by amazing character Thomas Goldstone is. He really has a great talent for showing people how to bring out the light and beauty they hold inside them. I must give special praise to Lauren for showing Thomas’ past in such a meaningful and honest way, I can understand his story as I share some similar aspects and what they say about boys and their mothers is also true of girls and their daddy’s, it was so nice to see it done this way.

  • Lynsey A

18% into the book and they're already having sex. I have a fear this is going to be just like the other book I read by this author which was sex, sex, a date, sex, sex, a fight and then more sex. I need a story and we'll I tried but I wasn't feeling it.

It has been a while since I read a book by Lauren and I have to say I loved this story. Mia is such a great character. She made me laugh and sigh and hope for the best for her and Thomas. She is a wonderfully strong character. Then you have Thomas. He is a mess. Everything that happened to him as a child is still with him. But Mia is his total opposite. She is his light to his dark and hopefully will make him see what he is missing out on.

But while they are finding and fighting for their love will someone in the background be sabotaging everything they know and love? You will have to read the book to find out!
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. And I can't wait to see where Lauren takes us next.

  • Laci

    I couldn't get into this.

  • Iron Tribe 75 Mari Small

    A Really Good Story

I thought that this would be a quick and easy read, But No this was far from It and it was D@#n Good! The Characters where solid and not cookie cutter material ! I loved this book and definitely going to get the Next One

  • Raine

    Good intrigue!

I usually like rom-coms, so this book was a good change for me...a little bit dark with a mystery. Thomas is a hard businessman with the nickname The Ruthless Bastard. Mia is an intelligent data analyst who works for Thomas, but she is quirky and works alone in the basement which she prefers because she is able to blast her music and dresses casually since she never sees anyone down there. Mia end up writing on a team which Thomas is overseeing and they hit it off. Sexy times happens between Mia and Thomas.

Interspersed in the story is the mysterious Mr. Blackwell and his drive to destroy Thomas. We never really get closure on the whole Mr. Blackwell part of the story so we can assume he will be an arc across the three books. I can't wait to read the next book!

    Love it

Wow, love the story. Characters are great. So much chemistry between them. It takes a true Beauty to tame the Beast

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review.

Heck Lauren still carries on doing some fantastic HEA's.
Here we meet Data Analyst Mia Kasakova who's been brought up to start into looking at a new area for billionaire CEO of the company she works for Thomas

Here we see how he can can fly off the handle but it also sees when he pulls Mia in about her work that things start to unravel. Not only does he starts to see that, even though he had noticed her, it's not until a she tells him how it is that he wants to know her privately. And it's here we see that Thomas has very deep emotional issues from his childhood & in his head the verbal abuse keeps on happening no matter how old he becomes.
Fantastic Storyline & characters with such deep emotion...

I’m not quite sure what made me pick this book to read. I have hundreds and I think that’s WAY low balling the number. I usually avoid billionaire books but I’m pretty sure I got this one for free on Kindle Unlimited. I think it was the “Dirty Fairy Tales” series name and I was feeling like a ‘dirty girl’ (snicker) I figured it would be a kind of telling of a Beauty and the Beast type storyline and I’m a sucker for those.

And I like it. Quite a lot actually. I had a few issues which I’ll get into and they kept the grade down a bit but I did enjoy it enough to get the next book in the series. Mia, our heroine, is a geeky data analyst who is quite happy working in the basement of the building so she can work alone without being bothered by her loud, somewhat questionable music. She’s brilliant at what she does and loves her job. It isn’t long before she comes to the attention of Thomas Goldstone, the billionaire owner of the company. To say Thomas is difficult to work with is an understatement. He has extremely high expectations of his staff and can be brutal when they aren’t attained. He can slay many of them with just a look, but when Mia meets him, she’s not cowed by him at all. Between this and the fact she proved to him how good she is at her job, he’s intrigued by her. She’s different than anyone he’s met before. She’s very quirky and she brings colour to his world.

And of course the more he gets to know her, the more and the harder he falls for her. And Mia is also falling for Thomas. She sees beneath the cold harsh exterior and as he begins to open to her, she sees the lost, sad little boy underneath who was abused by his father.

This is a standard kind of story line and I’ve read a few similar ones lately. But nevertheless it’s told well and I’m quite happy with the books. Now for the little niggles. Mia was a bit too out there for me. Being much older and much more staid, I didn’t feel like I had anything in common. Also this is an office romance and they can be tricky when the hero is the heroine’s boss. There isn’t an even balance of power and it’s a very thin line the author must walk in making sure the employee isn’t overwhelmed by the employer. It felt like the line wobbled a bit. There wasn’t a fall but when they travel together on a business trip, there were a couple of scenes I wasn’t 100% comfortable with.

But other than those minor quibbles things are good. I adore Thomas. The big scary beast is tamed by the love of the young and innocent beauty. Yep, I happily recommend this one. And oh!! It’s the cover. That’s what made this one stand out to me.

    Great plot, wonderful characters...4.5

Mia Karakova has worked for Goldstone Inc. for years but has never met her boss, Thomas Goldstone. Well, it’s pretty hard when her office is in the basement of Goldstone building. Her unorthodox work mode of rocking out to techno music and screeching Russian profanity at the top of her lungs while geeking out on her computer doing metadata trendspotting scares most of her co-workers. Yup, her genius knows no limits when her geekdom is let loose. Ms. Landish brings us a wonderfully charismatic and colorful heroine in this story. We are introduced to her besties, Charlotte and Izzy, they add a lot of interest and depth to the story.

When Mia is asked to join a task force on a special project she goes toe to toe with Thomas Goldstone, a billionaire entrepreneur. She’s not a female to back down when Thomas gives her his special “blast” of humiliation. Not when she’s secure in the knowledge her data is spot on. Thomas is intrigued and turned on by this woman who is an enigma and unlike any he’s known. Mia and Thomas act on their attraction and the connection is electric. Lots of emotions, chemistry, and sizzle. I love the fact Mia is good for Thomas helping him deal with his demons. She’s his angel and savior. Your heart will ache for Thomas once you learn about his childhood and emotional and physical hurdles he’s had to overcome. He hides behind a mask of a hard driving and harsh man that he shows to everyone. Except for Mia.

The story unfurls with several plot twists that set up the next books in the series. Beauty and The Billionaire is the first book in the series. There’s an evil rival out there that wants to crush the empire Thomas has built in Roseboro. We’ll learn more in the next couple of books and I can’t wait. Great job, Ms. Landish. I voluntarily received and reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
