NFL: 100 Years Reviews

  • Jack Chaucer

Colorful vignettes, characters and photos from the first century of the NFL. A 100-yard, 100-year trip through time. Touchdown!

For what it's worth I enjoyed this book but it has one glaring stain

This book featured players and stories that we would be remiss if we didn't mention them. It explored the best players at every position and coaches who made a difference.
The quarterbacks were saved for last. YEs the Greats were included like the Montana's and Elways, etc

Imagine having a book where an honorable mention is made to
    Tom brady(no duh)
    Drew Brees...
Nick Foles…..um NICK FOLES??? okay fine, he did beat the GOAT in the SB
    The manning brothers...
    Philip Rivers...
    Patrick Mahomeboy… (the chosen one)
    Aaron Rodgers..

but NO Russell Wilson. How is Wilson suspiciously absent from a mention + pic from the Quarterbacks list? how can a football aficionado make this egregious ERROR???? it is unforgivable!

As I stated, i still enjoyed the book. It was a perfect way to celebrate along with Chief fans in the NFL's 100th year.

I am completely biased, so take my review with a grain of salt: I love football. Absolutely adore it. So this huge coffee table book full of stories and quotes, history and anecdotes with amazing photography completely floats my boat.

I love football. I just do. This book has fantastic pictures from NFL films, stats and narratives from a number of football/sports books. A beautiful cocktail book with beautiful men inside. Happy 100, NFL 🏈

A pretty awesome book if you're a fan of the history of the NFL. Tons of photos from every decade of the game, lots of articles and stories pulled from the era each of their subjects lived in, and a pretty good amount of data and stats to go over as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was kinda expecting more from this book. I would have loved a year-by-year breakdown of every season, stories, standings, the draft for a particular year once they started having one. Just...more...I felt that for a book about the history of the league, they could've done more. There's a book I got as a kid that was written in 1986 called 50 Years of NFL Excitement about the history of the league to that point, and that was and is one of my favorite books, especially sports related books...I felt like that book had more year-by-year data than this one.

To be fair, I only looked at the photos and read a scant few of the articles here, but the photos are fantastic and the stories I did read were great. Great pages of stats for each decade are included too, which is fun.

Great detail on the first 100 years of the NFL. I dropped 1 star for the lack of Ben Roethlisberger mentions.
