The Life Changing Magic of Tidying / Spark Joy Reviews

Not isolated to the topic or simplifying and organizing - gets to the heart of "stuff" in our lives.

A Joy to Read - These books are amazing insights into how you have so much stuff and how you don't need most of it. I learned a lot reading these books. They have transformed the way I think about what I choose to keep and treasure in my life.

I feel like The Life Changing Magic Of Tyding was the key to unlocking my habits and the benefits and motivation and habits required with some real practical advice and Spark Joy goes into greater detail and gives you a handy guide to help you as you you are going through the decluttering journey. Would highly recommend reading both to get the full benefits of wisdom and help to gain skills and tricks to tidying folding organising and getting on top of your mountains of stuff!
Good luck and enjoy your journey :)

A 3.5 if I could. A must read of anyone is who likely to tidy and declutter their home. I read it because we are moving and I need to sort! I’m glad I did. I thought it would be a little dry but MK talks about emotions and feelings related to tidying as well as the practical advice on tidying. I have started tidying and am certainly using the principle ‘does it spark joy’ as to whether I keep it or not.

I really enjoyed this. It was entertaining and informative but also not pushy or boring. I think the important thing to remember with this book is that it has a very specific audience as there wasn't additional techniques for people with limited abilities etc. This doesn't limit the philosophy but maybe minimizes the likelihood of following all the steps suggested.

I've learnt so much and I've been able to implement so many key daily tasks after investing the time to listen and then read this book.

    Definitely a recommend.
We don't get taught as children how to tidy up.

A me è piaciuto particolarmente.

Informative guide. The book explains step-by-step process in the Konmari method in an easy-to-follow narration.

My favourite takeaway is 'Tidying is the act of confronting yourself; cleaning is the act of confronting nature.'

  • Kim Cummings

    Both are GREAT!

I've been wanting to read this for ages ... it's become quite the classic in all things minimalistic.
    Very interesting!

It is a pleasure to read a book by someone who is so passionate about their subject matter.

(only read ‚The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying’)

I already tried the KonMari method once, with informations from different blogs and videos etc.
But there‘s been kind of a rebound effect, especially after moving a few times since getting rid of stuff.

Reading the book really has made me understand what‘s important in the process - it has given me an insight into really being able to change my mindset regarding the topic of tidying (I‘m the kind of person who hates to tidy and to clean - or maybe I used to be that person, because now I‘m actually excited to start the process and cherish my possessions and my home ♥️). Strongly recommend!
