Bestselling author Olivia Weber is a year overdue delivering her next book, and her publisher is being bought out by another publishing company—one that doesn’t like to keep authors who don’t deliver. To spur Olivia’s creativity, her friend and agent sends her on a two-week getaway at a cabin in Snowshoe, Montana.
When Gabriel Saxon, billionaire and CEO of Saxon Publishing, shows up at his family’s cabin in Montana, he’s shocked to find a woman claiming she’s rented the place for the next two weeks. He wants her gone and pronto, but a looming snowstorm puts a kink in his plan. It’s only after they’re stuck together that he finds out she’s the jewel of the publishing company he’s buying and she has no idea who he is—and he wants to keep it that way.
Will being forced together in a tiny cabin bring them closer, or will the looming buyout control the future?

This was a sweet little romance about an author trying to overcome roadblock and a publishing CEO trying to overcome the stress giving him health issue forced to spend time together. It was a nice way to destress myself.

Very cute story
The story was really cute and sweet. I liked that the couple was mature adults who were willing to talk, communicate, and figure things out and apologize quickly when The communication didn't go well. I guess what I'm saying is, I like it when characters in books act like people you would actually want to know, not irrational people who blow things out of proportion and seem to deliberately misunderstand everything.
Livy does have some hang ups, but they are perfectly understandable given how she grew up, and what is more, she is able to grow past those insecurities.
I liked the characters very much. -
Insecurities and feelings of being unwanted
Livy’s parents died when she was young. She and her twin sisters were put into foster care. Her sisters were eventually adopted but she kept getting shuffled from home to home, never fully accepted, never truly loved. As a result of being moved around so much and never knowing if she would sleep in the same bed two nights in a row, she has high anxiety and chronic insomnia. She is insecure and has low self-esteem. Her long-time boyfriend treated her badly, which compounds her difficulties.
When a mix-up happens and Livy ends up staying, unknowingly, at the cottage of a billionaire seeking privacy, she sinks even deeper into her insecurities as he clearly does not want her there. Trapped by a severe snowstorm, the two are forced to spend time together.
Perhaps, with time, they will begin to build each other up and fill the holes in their lives. Perhaps they need each other more than they could have ever believed...
I could relate to this story as I too am a chronic insomniac (not due to the same circumstances) and I suffer from anxiety. I think the story is well-written and sensitive to the issues. It is a clean romance. -
Her Secret Billionaire Roommate by Bree Livingston (4 stars)
Ms. Livingston just gets better and better! This story really touched me. There was a sincerity in the insecurities and heart-break her characters were suffering from. It was lovely to experience them peeling back layer after layer of pain until they were open and ready for healing and love to fill the void.
A wonderfully romantic plot with down-to-earth, realistic and likable characters. One of the “villains” was slightly over the top, but it helped cement the trust between the H and h and so it worked.
As with all of Ms. Livingston’s books, the kisses are amazing and yet she keeps it clean. Her characters love each other enough to reign in their passions and really get to know one another before taking it to the next level which, happily enough, means marriage. (The best HEA, at least in this reviewer’s humble opinion!)
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special -
This was such a great romance! I don't normally go for sweet romance, as it tends to not be as captivating to me as steamy stories. BUT, this one did a fantastic job of having attraction between the characters (obviously still without getting any kind of graphic, so no worries there if you were worried about that), feeling sincere, and the characters each had their own very different backgrounds, yet it took no stretch of the imagination to have them be absolutely perfect for each other. I found the female MC, Livy, to be especially relatable. I don't share any of her background, yet I do share most of her wounds and insecurities.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book! I would have liked a little more at the beginning and ending... it felt a little abrupt both ways. Other than that, though, it was the perfect read! -
My first time reading this author. Gabe goes to his family cabin to get some much needed rest only to find Olivia there. Unbeknownst to him his assistant rented out the cabin to her. There is a snowstorm and so Olivia cannot leave. Gabe let her know she stays in her corner while he stays in his but of course this a romance and over a period of days they get to know each other. Both are dealing with extremely past bad relationships and have to overcome their emotions to see the attraction and caring that has come up between them.

I've read a couple snowed in romances this winter and wasn't sure how I'd feel about another one, but I loved this book. Gabe and Livy are such wonderful down to earth people. They get off to a rocky start, but soon start to build a friendship. I loved the way Gabe and Livy interacted together and how they trusted each other. It was also beautiful watching them overcome their past challenges and find forgiveness. A beautiful story!

This story reminds me why I don't really like reading contemporary romances. Way too many steamy kisses and lap sitting (even in a restaurant), and looking at each other lustfully - ugh! How many times do I have to read about someone filling out their jeans just right??? or having curves in all the right places??? I liked the story until they realized they liked each other!
Can't call it clean, but up until I quit reading I didn't run into any bad language at least! -
There was a story
There was a story for me to enjoy but it somehow got lost on the repetitive woe is me cycle. I get it you both got your heart broken but come on how much do we need to read about it. I don’t know who vexed me more Livy or Gabe. It’s like they had a competition of who could be more sad and untrusting. Don’t get me wrong they were nice together but to fall in love within two weeks. And it was so clean like so clean that sometimes it felt like a friendship. -
You are worth it
This sweet romance is a lot of fun to read and carries a message of forgiveness, understanding and learning to value yourself enough to walk away from the people who are toxic. Learning to stand up for yourself and to open your heart to new things and people. Both characters are hurting and need someone to listen to them without judgment and just be there. As they get to know each other and share their thoughts and feelings, love blooms. -
Livy is renting a cabin to be alone and get some writing done. When Gabe arrives at his family's cabin, he is suprised and angry to find someone there. Then they get snowed in. When they get to know each other, they are both suprised that they have alot in common. Can their friendship go beyond the cabin walls into the real world?

Why
What is it with some writers? Don't get me wrong but why is it that ya all write a good book, it keeps you excited and intrigued until the end! Here comes the epilogue, fast, but not thorough. I don't know how to explain it, did they go to Florida with her to check the orphanage, that kind of thing. It's like we are married now bye, bye! -
I liked this book. It’s well-written, he characters are believable and you can feel the chemistry between them.
There were a couple of times when I realised one had spoken but the paragraph continued with the ‘thoights’ of the other.
The cover didn’t appea to match the story. It appears an Autumn book but the plot is a snowstorm.
But otherwise it’s def worth a read. -
This was a book I came back to day after day! It was so sweet and captivating! What with their pasts and current time together.. and learning about each other and their worth. Ah... and then ooo so much tension built up! But it was worth it!!! Author did a great job at providing CLEAN STEAM. Oooo was it steamy! 💞💞

Outstanding
I Loved this book so much I didn't want it to end. It is the sweetest romance. I related so much to Livy's childhood and resulting insecurities it could have been my story. -
☺☺☺☺☺
Really, really good. In the story, Gabe praised Livy's writing: the characters are likeable and relatable, the dialog is witty and flows smoothly, and the story has depth. All those things are also true of this book. -
3.5 stars
It got a little glurge-y sometimes, but it's a sweet story with a nice happily-ever-after for those times when you want something that just lets you relax and feel happy. -
Another hit!
A sweet read I didn't want to put down. Loved the characters struggles and strengths. Loved Gabes gentle strength. I could identify with the stumped author. Gave me more courage to try again. Clean. I would probably read it again. -
So sweet.
Okay so the word crushed was thrown around a few too many times for my taste BUT I DON'T CARE! I loved the characters. I wish we'd seen one more confrontation.... But other than that I loved it. -
Beautiful Unexpected Love Story
