George and Harold's Epic Comix Collection Vol. 1 (Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV) Reviews

Miss 5 has been a major fan of all things Captain Underpants for the last two years but she didn't like this at all and asked not to finish it. It's not written or drawn by Dav Pilkey (but based on the tv series) which may have something to do with it.
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors. -
If you enjoyed Captain Underpants comics from the books, you'll going to want more of these! This book is a compilation of George and Harold's Captain Underpants comic stories they've made from the TV series adaptation on Netflix. It features some of Captain Underpants' action-packed adventures from the first two seasons that will make you laff out loud.
I was one of the people who doesn't understand what the narrator says during the comic book segment in the TV series because it's so fast forward to hear, but luckily this book really helps me know what's going on! -
I actually really enjoyed this. It would get a five-star rating except that it is just a recycling of the comics used in the TV series to make a book. Still, I haven't seen much of the TV series and found these to be hilarious and unexpected. Each comic is short, but never dull. Makes me interested to check out the TV series (which is no doubt part of the reason these were published).

Fans of Captain Underpants, Andy Griffith's books (Zombie Butts from Uranus) and Walter the Farting dog books will like this series (do you detect the theme?)

My kids loved it, but were disappointed that the comics left out some of the parts from the tv show comics.
-
There are some clever moments.
-
Eh...not the original author of Captain Underpants. Lots of different stories included. Some were funny & others were just weird.
