FINALLY! But I hate her parents so much. Her dad is rude asf and manipulative. I am honestly surprised she is such a sweet girl living in that house. But I digress, because I am happy and toxic parents will not ruin this moment 😂

Actual rating: 4.5 stsars!
We're finally getting to a place in the story that I want to be at...but there's still just so many hardships lmao. Can the next volume just be happier please?! At least for just a moment? -
Loveddddd this one so much more. AHHH finally getting back to where I want to be with our main characters!!
-

3.5 de 5 estrellas. -
I feel like this series doesn't pull its punches when it comes to the important things! Love this story! Need physical prints in the US!
This particular volume healed my heart in a way I didn't realize I needed. I am looking forward to the next volume. -
Wherein our protagonists finally stop listening to everyone else and at last really think about what they want. At the end of the day, only you can know what makes you happy.

Enfin !!!

It starts to feel a little lighter eventhough the struggle is still very much apparent but with the lack of appearance/intervention from Koreda & Nagasawa it feels like there's more room to breathe. Both of them also feels a little more stronger to take on the struggles that coming their way so they can enjoy their time together, unlike before where one or both of them can fold fast enough when some intervention come their way.

Alright! We finally are ditching the annoyances I had with the series and moving on. I am fine with the challenges our couple has to deal with now that they are workng through them together. Very excited to move forward.

One word: finally!
-
Jakie piękne i smutne! <3 :(
-
Finally, some growth and maturity!!! It's still dramatic and messy, but it was a better volume in the series.

kawanas dad makes me so angry. he is so damn mean!

For this being a more romantic manga, all the issues they keep having don't make it feel romantic.
I would say this is more a contemporary drama. That's not to say that it's bad. I do love the main characters, but I was hoping for more. -
[ Re-read in 2024. ]
"I have no regrets. How could I? I had someone I loved with all my heart."
Itsuki and Tsugumi finally talk to each other about their regrets and how they didn’t stop loving each other. Itsuki talked about his accident and how everything fall apart after that, how much he struggled to get back on the horse and how, ultimately, wants to spend his life with her by his side, even if they’ll find more hardships due to the circumstances.
With that being said, Koreda and Itsuki have a man to man talk, and though the guy always meant well, he just couldn’t be loved by Tsugumi the way he wanted. He was no match against Itsuki, and either way, they both want to make Tsugumi happy.
Itsuki also has to deal with Nagasawa but she refuses to listen to what he wants to say ‘cause that will mean they’ll break up. After that, Itsuki has to go to the hospital and that’s when we see a bit of their past together, how she actually helped him recover as his nurse, in his rehab. But, just like Tsugumi with Koreda, he couldn’t love her the way she wanted.
By the end of the volume we see the lovely wedding of Kaede and Keigo, which are one of the sweetest couples ever. Their new place is perfect for her condition as well as the upcoming restaurant. They both want to spend the time they have together and just like them, Tsugumi and Itsuki are well aware of the hardships they’ll eventually face too.
Throughout the whole series we’ve seen a lot of people wanting them to be apart but, to be honest, they make each other the happiest. Their love is real and they fully understand what means to be together. I’ve been rooting for their happiness from the very beginning and I’m expecting they’ll somehow find a way to remain together without people’s expectations to weight them down.
Last but not least, I would have liked to see Tsugumi actually talking to Koreda since he was a real nice guy and deserved better but well, I guess we just couldn’t ask for too much.
This volume contains chapter 35 – 39.

Volume 7 -
Despite my frustration with some of the previous volumes, I do love this couple. There are plenty of sweet scenes in vol. 8, but the promise of more melodrama to come makes me a bit concerned how the series will end; Tsugumi's father disapproving of Itsuki just seems cruel after all they've been through!

VOLUMEN OCHO
FINALLY
I want to write an actual review for volume 8 because I loved it so much!
I’m so so glad that finally both Kawana and Ayukawa told the truth to themselves that they never stopped loving each other, this so they could say it to each other.
Both Kawana and Ayukawa have matured a lot and we’ve seen it in the past few mangas.
Kawana had so much growth in really pushing for what she wants in a healthy way. Like when she went back to Ayukawa many times to be the interior designer. She also still very much cares for him and saved his life. The level 5 earthquake stuff was intense and very much pushed along the story. And at the end of volume 7, she went to his house because she could not live with regrets anymore. She told the truth to herself finally that she love’s Ayukawa still this whole time apart.
In volume 8 specifically, I LOVED Ayukawa. Man, even though he still struggles a ton with feeling like a burden and not good enough for Kawana, he is finally acknowledging himself. I hope he sees eventually how much of a leader and a man he’s truly been in this relationship! He did the hard work for Kawana by having a man-to-man, heart-to-heart conversation with Koreda. Ayukawa is such a mature guy and I hope he’ll be able to recognize how much he truly offers to the relationship. Also, he was the one to say out loud that he still loves Kawana. It was so touching since Kawana was the one who took the first step to see him again, but Ayukawa reciprocated the feelings.
This volume also had a ton of backstory on his accident as well as Nagasawa. She really grew on me! It’s an unpopular opinion, but I don’t like Koreda. He’s to pushy. But, I’m sure he’ll be a fine man for someone else. Anyways, Nagasawa really grew on me and I loved seeing how much she impacted Ayukawa’s life. And love his mature and he is to recognize her and tell Nagasawa that she saved his life and she’s really important. He just doesn’t reciprocate those feelings.
I literally ADORE the young couple, Kaede and Keigo, they just are very heartwarming. So glad their house construction survived the earthquake. I was so touched they had their wedding now so that Kaede can have happy memories in the midst of such hardship.
Near the end when Kawana told Ayukawa that no matter who’s against them, she’ll always love Ayukawa. And when he said, “your dad is against us isn’t he?” And held her tight as she was sobbing, my heart melted. Such a touching moment.
Once again on Ayukawa’s growth and maturity, I loved the ending on how we see he went to Kawana’s dad and is going to talk to him in volume 9.
I really enjoyed this volume a lot! 🤍 It makes all the painful, drama, and annoying volumes worth it. -
THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVORITE VOLUME SO FAR!
Itsuki and Tsugumi realize that they regret how things ended and still love each other. The text that Koreda writes Tsugumi after talking with Itsuki, almost made me cry. Itsuki ending things with Nagasawa and seeing their history together, almost made me cry. Nagasawa is dear to him but he does not love her the same she loves him.
I really hope that she finds someone or at least lives a happy live.
The wedding was shown in this volume was beautiful. His family even attends though the father doesn't seem to understand and speaks ill of the time the two will have together. As a chef, he also provided the meal for the wedding. I am so excited to how far the house is coming along.
And I am so happy to see the growth that Tsugumi has gone through. She went from looking in horror and helplessness when Itsuki is in the hospital, to doing what she can for him. She is worried about him of course, but she knows that he is will be okay with doctors, his parents and Nagasawa around.
I do commend Itsuki trying to speak to Tsugumi's dad. I know he does not give his blessing to the relationship, wanting his daughter to be with someone who wont make her feel like a burden. With his failing health, he is even more against it, knowing the toll his decline is taking on his wife. He does not want his daughter to go through the same thing.
