Still, life with Jack isn't predictable, and Channon can't help wondering how long this can last. What does Jack want from him in the end? Can Channon be everything Jack wants? Is his best is good enough for the man he calls Sir?
What does Jack want? Can this fragile thing they have last? And what does it mean when the boundaries of a relationship are non-traditional, when Jack's desires push Channon to places he never imagined he could go?
This collection includes the complete Season Three (episodes 25 to 30) of an ongoing series.

Hooked
Season 3 has me more hooked than ever. The web of intimacy between Nate, Ewan, Jack, and Channon is wonderful .
I'm particularly enamored of Ewan - fierce and bitey, but endearingly protective of Channon. Channon becoming his own person. Honestly if you're into the BDSM genre, this whole series is fantastic. -
Hawt!
As usual, this was a hot instalment. I really like that it has a storyline and not just hot sex. Keeps you invested in the lives of Channon, Jack and their friends. I think we need to see more of Ewan! There’s definitely a story there -
I am so addicted to this series. I don't know what it is exactly that I love about it because it's not plot-heavy but the sex is still hot even at this point.

Oh, I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. I love these books. Jack and Channon are two of my favorite characters. Can’t wait for season four.
-
In Season Two, I was uncomfortable with how the dynamic between Jack and Channon evolved into something that felt unintentionally non-consensual at times. Season Three resolves all of the specific issues I had with Season Two, either by addressing them on-page or quietly removing them from the relationship, and the dynamic between Jack and Channon once again felt like something that was helping them both to grow as people, and in particular that it was teaching Channon how to be independent and confident in himself, so that his submission to Jack could be something he chose with a full understanding of the consequences.
I continue to be impressed with Moray’s ability to keep the series feeling fresh and not repetitive, and the decision to lengthen the episode lengths starting in Season Three helped with that. She does such a good job of showing you why the characters feel and act the way they do, which is my catnip as a reader. -
3.5 Stars

Loved getting to see Jack and Channon’s dynamic evolve, see them trying new things and confronting a few figures from the past with Jack’s sir. Jack was sweeter in this season, and the two of them are so in love it’s a toothache that hurts so good.
Oh! And getting to know Ewan better and seeing his relationship with Channon develop. So good. -
I really liked this one, more than I liked seasons 1 & 2. This season focused more on Jack & Channon’s relationship and less on smut.
Channon is starting to gain confidence & come into his own. He is learning about what he likes/dislikes and how to express that to Jack. Jack is very loving towards him, which I personally enjoy more than punishments.
This book introduces some interesting side characters like Ewan and Tig. The chapters about the sub school were especially entertaining and I really liked the group scenes.
I don’t read a lot of BDSM but this series is a lot more thorough than the books I’ve read and it’s interesting to read about the different characters’ kinks and how each of them define what is pleasurable and what is not. -
This story just keeps getting better

Season three
Moray's BDSM novels, both the Channon Beaumont and Ewan McKinney series, are some of the best out there. I love her writing style. I've read all her books and the way she writes the narrative for each character's point of view matches their personality and dialogue. Her obvious knowledge of BDSM is either firsthand or she's done a lot of research from other people who do have personal experience. As someone in the BDSM community myself, her description and terminology are spot on. (Cold canings ARE the worst.)
In Season Three, there are two supporting characters who figure prominently - Nate and Ewan. Nate's presence has gradually grown through the stories, and the addition of Ewan in Season Two was a true stroke of genius. Nate is a satisfying foil for Jack but Ewan is a brilliant foil for Channon. I find myself adoring Ewan as much as I adore Channon. As Channon "thinks" at one point: "it was like trying to talk to a pissed off cat caught in a rose bush."
Ewan coaxes, both wittingly and not, a bit of rebelliousness out of Channon that's sorely needed at this point in the novels. It's important to note that anyone who finds Channon's perfect devotion to Jack and pliancy as a result has never met a true submissive. They really are that desperate to please. Still, it's a joy to see Channon outside of his relationship with Jack. The sexual tension between them is subtle but I found myself begging "please let them hook up, please." Nate and Jack are amusedly aware of the sexual tension between their two boys, Ewan thinks his crush on Channon isn't obvious, and Channon is oblivious to his growing desire for Ewan.
The play scenes never get old. Moray does a good job of keeping things spicy but there is more story to these stories than just erotica. There has been from the beginning. I love all her books; she has a lot of variety in her oeuvre. Her characters, her sense of humor, her obvious affection and devotion to her characters, her masterful ability to maneuver them into sometimes outrageous situations without letting the settings overwhelm the heart of the story - these are all reasons why I have given almost all her books 5 stars.
I can't wait for Season Four so I've gone back to the beginning to read all over again as I wait. -
Really, really damn enjoyable.
Star rating is for what I’ve read of the series as a whole (rather than individual books/installments) and includes:
His Boy Next Door: Season One
His Boy Next Door: Season Two
His Boy Next Door: Season Three
A Collar for His Brat: Season One (Nate and Ewan)
Two Plus Two: Naughty Advent (twenty-four short-shorts)
Collision Course (not technically part of the Boy Next Door series, and free to newsletter subscribers) -
I like that this "season" has a little more focus on the romance between Channon and Jake, though there are still plenty of scenes as it's still erotica. But we got a little more of their lives beyond kink, and that's exactly what I was hoping for so I loved it.
As was the case with the second season, there were aspects of their kink that I enjoyed and others less so. I loved their anniversary trip to Paris. I disliked the school; it felt really jarring and out of place. I was so happy to see Channon finally use his safe word; I really felt like it was necessary that he use it and understand that it's not a failure to do so. That Jake wouldn't be mad. Channon is so eager to please that he'll let things happen that he may not actually like so I'm glad Ewen made him think about it. I like the Ewan/Nate dynamic, and I hope there is more of that in the next book.
Overall, this series is LONG, but so enjoyable. Glad to be reading the last season next! -
Read along as Jack allows Channon to have a play date....
Channon is working diligently at being perfect for Jack, and, dreading the possibility that Jack will trade him in on a better model, wonders if he could be a more polished submissive. Jack sends him to Sub School, which apparently is much the same as regular middle school, except with more Drama. In the meantime, Channon makes friends with Ewan, and is well on his way to becoming a Real Boy!
There’s loads and loads of sex (and you get a little tired of Channon’s excessive self-esteem problems). But it’s a fun and quick read where there’s not a lot of angsty navel-gazing....which is just perfect for me these days. -
Even better than the first two, impossible as that may seem
I almost didn't read this one just because it felt like Jack and Channon already had a perfect story and i didn't want anything to mess it up, but in the end I couldn't resist, especially when tempted with the prospect of Channon actually saying NO (!!) to something.
This was a very sweet and romantic story, while still ramping up the kink and sexiness to a delightful degree. I loved it and I'm diving into book 4 immediately. -
Series three shows us some more character development and even more of a glimpse into the wider community where we meet more characters. More kinks get introduced and Channon begins to grow more into himself as a person. I simply adore the beauty of Channon's submission - so perfect and pure. It's bliss to read the scenes with him surrendering so beautifully. We also get more of a glimpse into Ewan (one of the main characters from RJ Moray's other series - A Collar for His Brat) and it's glorious. I just adore their dynamic.

I skimmed a lot of pages this time around. I liked the beginning of this series quite a bit. But now with all that group activity and sharing, I totally lost interest in the romance. The main MCs are still very likable, and I wished for more interaction between those two but maybe the author has run out of ideas which is why other people are joining the story to keep it entertaining. I go with a D, not because it's bad but seriously boring and not to my liking anymore.
-
So, so good. I keep expecting to burn-out with this series, but the author does a fantastic job of keeping everything fresh, interesting, unexpected and HOT! Jack and Channon are one of my favorite couples ever. And I love Nate, but I never understood what he saw in Ewan. Well, this season changed my mind. The more and more I read, the more I came to understand and love Ewan. I can't wait to read more about the four of them in Season Four.

This season had a couple episodes that I wasn’t a fan of, and I found myself annoyed with the main characters on multiple occasions. On the other hand, I’m still giving it 5 stars because it has my favorite episode from all three seasons, and I appreciate the author’s ability to continue the new kink/new fantasy in every episode pattern.

If S2 was an improvement over S1, then this is similarly an improvement over S2. I mean, the first half had plenty of stuff I wasn't a big fan of, but it also had some great moments. Our hero is becoming more confident in his life, the relationship is stabilizing, he's getting a life outside of it. Things are looking up, looking hot (occasionally), and the dialogue is excellent as always.

Growth.
I enjoyed this season of Channon and Jack’s lives. Their is so. Uch growth in Channon. He is finding himself and what he likes, finding friends who are like him. Jack’s love for him is so strong. -
Funnerz
I love Channon and Jack, watching them evolve is so freaking delightful! Season 3 was everything i could have asked for!!! -
Continuing to really enjoy this series. The kink is really well done, and the relationship development is super engaging.
-
I really liked the way this one ended but MORE PLEASE!!

Good, but a few issues
I'm still loving these guys, but there was some issues that weren't as prominent in the first two series and most probably resulted from the addition of a British character (Mac/Ewan). Both Jack and Channon lost their American-isms in this season. Way too many British English words were substituted for what Americans would call something. Some oddball formatting also resulted in garbled words. I did enjoy the longer stories with this season.
KU, contemporary, committed couple, book in a series, MM, MMM, MMMM, BDSM, kink, Shibari, lingerie -
This is by far my favorite season of all. Like. The most favorite-est. I'm so grateful too get to know more about what's going on inside Jack's and Channon's heads, outside of the play room and all the scene. I can't wait to start the next books. I'm so glad I started this series!
