What I really like about Keto Diet for Beginners is that it truly is a basic overview of the Keto diet and includes the explanations behind why going into ketosis helps the body lose weight. Keto also can help repair and heal the body as well.
The first few sections in Keto Diet for Beginners is an overview of the history of the Ketogenic diet. It also covers macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. What to eat and what not to eat on the keto plan are included which are truly very helpful. Food sensitivities are covered as well as really important tips for success.
I found this book especially helpful as I am on the keto plan. Sometimes I crash and burn (eat non approved foods that kick me out of ketosis) and sometimes I just stroll along at my own little slow pace and gradually lose weight. I found the following pros and cons on Keto Diet for Beginners:
Pros:
Terrific overview, good information and resource on the basics of the Ketogenic diet and fasting. Love the meal plans, looking forward to trying out some of the recipes. Terrific explanation of the liver's function and how the keto plan or fasting can really improve the health of the liver (and body!) Say goodbye to fatty liver! Explanation of the different types of Ketogenic Diets: Standard, Cyclical, Targeted and High Protein Ketogenic diets.
Cons:
Would love to have had more information on Insulin Resistance covered in this book and why eating sugar substitutes is not always the best choice for those combating metabolic syndrome x, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, diabetes, or PCOS. It would also be great to see a maintenance plan included on adding in more carbohydrate once the dieter has been on Keto plan for a few months or longer.

Ketogenic diets were introduced in the 1920s in an attempt to reduce seizures in children. They aren’t something that adults need, and nobody should be doing them except on the advice of a doctor and medical nutritionist.
Most modern “keto” plans don’t actually result in ketogenesis in adults, and most adults do not need to be in ketogenesis. They are, like the Atkins diet and others before them, crash diet scams.

The book is good for people wanting to learn about the Keto diet but I found it lacking information on the lifestyle you need to follow. It was repetitive and had contradictory statements.
There is no nutritional information offered for the recipes.

I have constantly been hearing about the keto diet and am so happy I came across this book. It answered many of the questions that I had. The book also features yummy recipes that one can cook in the home to get started right away and it has a printable grocery list!

With so many books out now on the Me to diet I would be hesitant to say this is the best, but I found it very easy to follow with great recipes I would actually make. The diet, and how it works, is fully explained. I would recommend this book to friends and family.

This was very helpful in getting started with the Keto diet. The information was useful and it wasn't written in a snoody "I'm better than you" way, as some self help books are. I would recommend this to anyone that is wanting to start a new lifestyle.
