Brooks:
This M.C. took my father. This patch shaped me in to the cynical biker I am today. This club is the only thing I have going for me, and I will do whatever it takes to protect our Mountain Misfit lifestyle until the day I die.
Watching her break was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Watching her through her window is the only thing I have left of her.
This club might have taken a lot of things from me, but I’m not going to let it take her. I’m going to be her salvation whether she wants me to or not.
Esther:
I was born of this legacy, raised wild in the mountains, misfit blood in my veins.
My world revolves around protecting a patch that I will never wear for myself.
My body isn’t my own, it’s just a tool that keeps the club out of trouble. Nobody wants to call it what it is to my face, even though everyone knows what they made me into.
My heart isn’t my own, it belongs to a man I can’t even look in the eye anymore. Once my closest friend, now nothing more than a reminder of what might have been.
My soul… well, it’s not his to save, but every time he touches me, I feel like I’ve been purged of my highest sins.
Highest Sins is a steamy full length standalone novel from the Mountain Misfits MC series. It’s dark, violent, and gritty with cameos from all your favorite (and least favorite) Misfits and a guaranteed HEA.
Highest Sins (Mountain Misfits MC, #2) Reviews
-
Despite having very mixed feelings on the previous book (and the prologue). I decided to give this one a try. The main reason was Brooks. I liked him in the previous ones. Plus Esther came across well.
I struggled with the fact that Esther. Who is the presidents daughter and the VP’s sister. Is basically a whore for the club. I know Moses is not a good man but one of the things I like about MC books is how family. Especially females are generally protected.
In my line of work, I always do the fucking. The guys in the club say my job is “to do the things that require feminine mystique.” My father was the one who coined that concept. I was the one who perfected it, though. It’s just a nice way of saying I’m a whore.
I fuck bad men so they give us what we want. Power. Guns. Money. My pussy keeps us out of a lot of trouble. I’m always in control, always have to maintain the upper hand with these convicts, criminals, murderers, and worse.
“Salazar,” he says, and I involuntarily cringe. Joe Salazar has more money than he knows what to do with, the kind of money he married into. I could get past his shortness, fatness, and baldness if he wasn’t such a humongous asshole. He’s the kind of man who thinks he can own people because he’s so rich. He’s the kind of man who knows exactly how repulsive he is, but doesn’t give a fuck. He’s used to being able to buy whatever he wants.
I die a little inside every time he ‘buys’ me, even if it’s just for work, just for pretend.
“Dad, you know I hate him. I don’t wanna do deals with him anymore.” Joe always makes me feel like a street beggar. He makes me feel weak, like he’s holding something over my head. He’s not like our other usual clients. “He makes me feel like shit about myself.”
“I know; I’m sorry. I don’t have any other options, though. It’s just pretend, Esther, you know that. Acting. It’s always just pretend. Use your tools.”
I got as far as Salazar and then I quit. This doesn’t make it a bad book it just means it’s not for me. I couldn’t get past the fact that beautiful Esther has to have sex with a short, fat, bald asshole for the club. -

Blurb:
I’m sure as hell no saint, but I’ll do whatever it takes to save my first love from the sins of the club.

*I just look through the series to read more and Honestly I’m not going to read any other the stories especially is Ester will be murdered in book 6 and Brooks will fall instantly in love with another woman in a matter of days, even if it’s a year after the event. After reading this book and leaving this review I was looking forward to reading more but I didn’t spend time connecting to this two people only have one ripped away. Sorry I’m stopping with this solo read from this series.*
Triggers Barely legal rape, beating & brainwashing
Ester’s father brainwashed his just turned 18 year old daughter into a pawn he can sell off to get his money, guns, drugs or power, he tells her if she does this it’s to protect her people, her club, her family. He’s the big President of the club, so he used his blood as pawns heck He even sold her on her 18th birthday to a rival M.C. For $100k for her virginity and to be raped by their club. Her father feeds her this B.S. for 15 years. And in that time she has her ‘job’, bartends at the club run bars and a hobby and secretly loving a man who she could never be anything more then a friend. She sees herself as a harlot and dirty.
Brooks wasn’t part of the club life until later on in his childhood, his dad was a officer of the club, best friends with Gavin and his younger sister Ester, but he fell for her before he knew it and when the death of his father he felt more for her. He knew something didn’t feel right about his dad’s ‘accident’ and he feels Ester’s dad was behind it. But his life will be hitting another blow when Ester comes up and missing until he learns her dad sent her off to live with a relative. No one knew what would happen that would change their lives and take his girl and change her to be someone she never was. 15 years later the peeping Tom will leave a very damming piece of evidence behind his spot in the bushes, that one little card will change his life and the women he’d always love into something he would dream of......
But don’t forget there is always drama and we will get it with angriest. Her father will try to keep his power seat and the drama of a whiny pass around that wants Brooks for herself and Ester pit of the picture. Will justice be serves? Who might become the next one to disappear? -
Gritty Biker Read
This is a gritty biker read that shows you even the president’s daughter isn’t immune to the dirty underside of the biker life; especially if dear old dad is one sick SOB. Esther has the mindset of any true patched in member because her club always comes first even if it means using what she has to further the club. Brooks has always been in Esther’s life and even though he knows what she does for the club he is finally coming to realize that someone should stand up for her to protect her from herself in essence. Since her brother is also the VP he is with Brooks and it’s time to put an end to what her father has brainwashed her into.
The chemistry between Brooks and Esther is hot and has you pulling for them the whole way through. Tough decisions have to be made and someone has to pay. -
Lack of editing killed the book for me. Yet another author writing in 1st person POV who has no idea how to keep verbs tenses and verb agreement straight. Add to that incorrect sentence structure, incorrect word usage, homophone confusion, as well as character inconsistencies, and you get a rough draft rather than a finished book ready for publication.
Until this author hires an editor, I recommend skipping this book and any others not properly readied for sale. -
hmm this is a hard book to review, i just have a problem with the whole issue of how Esther was used by the club esp her loss of her virginity and subsequent abuse (gang raped and badly beaten over days) AND none of them did anything, given how close they all supposedly are? the premise of her being the club whore who slept with men who were business associates in order to advance or secure deals just didnt ring true for the misfits. they are not an abusive club, they don't even treat their club whores like that but let the daughter of the president be abused like that? it all just didnt ring true esp brooke being madly in love with her whilst she's treated like this?
not believeable at all - disappointing, will try book 3 and see if that is any better. hopefully mfm should be good. -
I'm glad I gave Book 2 of this series a chance after how much I disliked Book 1, mainly because of the Sloan Character. The two main characters here, Esther and Brooks were much to my liking. The author gave them such good chemistry and dialogue. The storyline had such subterfuge and redemption. This felt like the series concluded but I could be wrong especially since a character, Goob, reappeared.
VERDICT: Recommending for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.
I am volunteering to leave a review of this ARC book. -
Yes To Highest Sins
Highest Sins..is Brooks and Esther's story. I have to say this story is a complete 180 from book one. We learn what Esther the princess of the MC does for the club and how she got into that line of work.
Brooks and Esther have loved eachother since they were kids..but it seems something was always standing in the way. We get to see the love bloom into more and watch Esther start believing in herself.
This story has a darkside to it and it might have some sweet but its raw. I suggest reading book 1 before jumping into Highest Sins. Happy Reading!! -
Misfit is right!!
Just WOW the things that Esther went through for the name of club is just horrendous but smart too. It made her into the woman she become....which btw a very smart, hardcore person.
Loved the love that her and Brooks had for each other. Her dad Moses was a POS!! So had he got what he deserved, even though I have a feeling in my gut we haven't seen the last of him.
If you want a gritty, hot AF sex, and sexy alpha bikers then this MC is for you.
I recommend this book and series.
Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis -
The first thing I love about this book are the main characters... their association to the MC, their relation to each other and their battle both internal and external. Like most MC themed books, this story is gritty and dark but so full of promise. It’s well paced, if not fast, and exciting above all. A definite recommendation. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

THis book will leave you begging for more. The misfits are still having issues with “daddy”, only this time it’s his daughter Esther. He’s destroyed her and doesn’t care. Brooks and Ester finally get together after waiting their whole lives, but Daddy dearest is fit to be ties. The adventure and horrors these two go through had me on the edge of my seat. Cannot wait for more!
I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. -
Great reading
More from these guys. Esther had been used time and time again by her father for the good of the club. Brookes has loved Esther for ever. She and Gavin are his best friends and he doesn't want to rock the boat. One cheeky phone call and that all changes. A job to do for her father has the whole applecart upset. Times are changing in the club and it doesn't please all. -
Done.
The first in the series was okay, not great, but enough redeeming moments that I thought maybe it was just first book jitters. A lot of necessary nonsense has to go in book ones, especially of MC reads, to lay ground work. So they aren’t always the best. This one was slightly less enjoyable, so I think I’ll call it quits on the series. Just a bunch of hoopla and chaos without a real story. -
Still quite a few eye rolling moments, but a very interesting story. Brooks and Esther are perfect together and I love that she is such a badass woman. She has been through a lot and she is damaged but she is not broken. I might have even given this one 5 stars if not for the glaringly obvious bad decision at the end of the story. I don't want to give anything away but come on! An idiot could see that that choice is going to bring a lot of trouble in the near future.

I'm hooked on this series! So many unexpected twists and turns that you didn't see coming.
I loved Esther and Brook's story. They never admitted their love for one another until years later.
Moses had used and brainwashed his daughter, Esther for years with the excuse that it was benefiting the Mountain Misfits MC. Brook was going to remove her from that situation.
Lies, deceit, betrayal, murder, emotional and steamy scenes. -
This is my first read of the Mountain Misfits MC and I'll go back and read book 1 and read Gavin's book. This book was intense and overall a good read. I wish there was more details about Ester and the MC. We keep hearing how Ester is doing this for her "boys" but we don't "see" this till the end of the book.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read. -
Wow! I was hooked from beginning to end. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. This is a fast-paced read that grabs you from beginning to end. This MC is intense, dark and an emotional read. Brooks and Esther are amazing characters and the chemistry is steamy. I loved it!

Excellent book!!
Wow! Excellent storytelling! Great descriptive phrasing!
Poor Ester! Growing up in a motorcycle club, and having a piece of crap for a father makes for a miserable childhood.
Brooks has always loved Ester. Let's see if he can save her from the life her father gave her. -
Brooks and Esther’s story shows a marked improvement from book 1, with original and impactful MC themes really starting to shine through. There was plenty packed into the story to hold my attention - and I particularly liked Brooks’s voyeuristic tendencies - that whole extended scene brought a touch of lightheartedness, which balanced out the darkness of the main plot.
-
An amazing book. Extremely entertaining, captivating, and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong and intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Gripping read
Out with the old & in with the new. Esther & Brooks finally got there version of happiness. I'm looking forward to seeing more of what the club will be like now that there is a new leader. -
Brooks lost his father because of the club, Esther has suffered enough because of her father, who is the President of the Misfits. But his day is coming for what he has done to his daughter, Brooks father and the rest of the club. HEA.

The great storyline and the well developed characters kept me glued to my kindle from start to finish! I look forward to reading more from this author!
