This year has shown us that the future is decidedly female. While raising daughters has perhaps never been simple, it is growing more complex by the day. In a parenting age that often tells young girls that they are somehow “less than,” one award-winning publisher decided to assemble a collection of voices to celebrate the girls in our lives. These are those stories. You Do You is the sixth book in the New York Times bestselling I Just Want to Pee Alone series, which has tackled a variety of topics since 2012 – including parenthood, relationships, and the cult of female perfection – all with a broad range of voices, from the cynical, to the ugly-cry, to the outright hilarious. YOU DO YOU is a love-fest for the females in our lives. This is a book for anyone in middle school to middle age.

You Do You! Reviews

So blown away by all amazing contributors of this anthology. Some as young as twelve! I felt uplifted and empowered after reading this and will reach for it on the bleak days where it's hard to hang onto hope for our country's future.

I adored this addition to the series! It's all about being a strong woman and raising strong girls and women in 2018. This volume is not just essays, but also some poetry and there are contributions from girls ages 12 to adult. Some of these essays made me laugh out loud and some made me tear up. Every girl and woman should read this book to feel better about being female!

The only thing I would change is that I wish there were a few LGBTQ perspectives in the mix.

This book was amazeballs and every little girl, young girl, preteen girl, teenage girl, young, middle, and old girl should read this. Many amazing stories of how to survive and thrive as a female in this country! Some of these authors are teenagers! And they wrote such heartfelt and honest messages!
