Amand
I never expected my little brother's best friend to be so handsome.
As crown prince, I certainly have my pick of gorgeous men all drooling for so much as a glance. Daniel isn't like that. He was a little surprised about Ricard's royal lineage, but he's taken the shock well.
I wonder what else he can take with such grace.
Daniel
Why didn't my best friend ever tell me he was royalty? I don't think it'd have changed anything, but wow!
And wow! He's in debt up to his eyeballs to a bunch of very bad people. His brother seems like a good guy, though. Smart, fun, and incredibly good-looking. Is it out of bounds to have a crush on your buddy's brother?
I don't know, but I'm going to find out.
This 60,000 word novel is smoking hot, filled with royalty drama and sticky relationships. 18+ only. This material is intended for adults!

Good
Another good story from the author. It had enough build up, mystery and character development. It did not feel rushed and showed progression between the main characters as well as the mystery. I liked this story! -
Daniel is a travel writer and photographer traveling with his grad school roommate Ricard to the country of Calonia, where he’s also hoping to find his family roots. He’s flummoxed when he and Ricard are forcibly taken back to the royal palace where it is revealed that Ricard is a prince and his surly, but sexy older brother Amand wants him to set aside his playboy ways and take up his responsibilities. To Amand, Daniel represents Ricard’s temptation to avoid his duties while also his own temptations to give in to passion, which he cannot afford to do. When Amand discovers that Ricard is being extorted for information that would disrupt a trade deal, Amand gets more suspicious of Daniel and uses it as a perfect excuse to get closer to Daniel. It quickly becomes clear that Daniel is also a victim in all of this and needs protecting, which Amand is happy to do since he’s fallen in love with Daniel. Amand’s suggestion of an engagement catches Daniel off-guard, but Amand is offering everything Daniel has ever wanted, so how can he resist?
So this started out with a lot of potential and, but for some kinks in the execution, this could have been really good fluffy suspense. The set up with Daniel being a thoughtful, introspective travel writer being faced down with a stern, overly-formal, but sexy prince who also now suspects him of being somehow involved in villainy - that works. The tension and angst (not so much the chemistry tho) between Daniel and Amand is established straight away and is intriguing because you know they have to overcome it somehow. The suspense plot of this ends up flowing pretty well also. Ricard has a gambling problem and resents his family’s purse strings so he gets loans which he can’t pay back and the villains take advantage to try to prevent a trade deal underway (and to make some money through investments by knowing everything about the trade deal). This, the sense of danger that Daniel is in (tho why he’s TSTL and keeps going out without a guard after the first time he almost got kidnapped just boggles my mind) and how desperate they end up being (tho the why of that wasn’t explained to my satisfaction) was pretty darn good.
Where this story had stumbling blocks for me was in character development and romance. None of these characters feel developed enough for me outside of a few intimate conversations where we learn some stuff. But the fact that Daniel went to grad school yet I have no idea what for...I mean, he’s a travel writer and photographer, what did he go to grad school for? I’d think grad school would be a wholly unnecessary expense for an individual who claims to be hard up for money. And Amand is even more of a mystery. There’s an allusion to some event in the past, some heartbreak or other, which caused him to give up playing the cello, abandon all passion and become the stuffy, staid person he is in this story. And yet, it’s never explained. He starts to tell Daniel about what happened, Daniel tells him it isn’t necessary and it’s completely dropped for the rest of the story. I disagree with Daniel that it was necessary to get to know Amand as a character and his motivations. Now, for the most part, neither of these two had chemistry with the other. Amand’s attraction and resentment of Daniel worked and it was easy to see him sort of falling, but Daniel had no reason to fall for Amand. Up to that point he hadn’t been treated well and for Daniel, the “seduction” was out of the blue. And a day and a half later, Amand is proposing and Daniel is naturally resistant...it’s not like they know each other that well and there’s no way it could be a marriage for love. It felt like a marriage of convenience, and yet, not ten minutes later, Daniel is falling all over himself with how in love he is with Amand. After that, things sort of fell into place with their romance, but the transition from not in love to in love was lightspeed fast and awkward.
This was my first time with this author and I’m not sure how well-established/experienced they are. This story was overall an okay read, but it didn’t quite wow me. -
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the romance between Daniel, an American photographer and writer and Amand, the Prince of Calonia. Daniel and Ricard were college roommates and are now travelling around Europe together and have just entered Calonia. Daniel wanted to visit Calonia because his grandparents were from there and he has no family left, so he was hoping to find distant relatives. Daniel also had no idea Ricard was a Prince until they were picked up and taken to the palace. When Daniel arrived, he met the rest of the royal family, including Amand. Amand was very reserved and he seemed not to like Daniel very much. When Amand learned there was a threat to Ricard and he was being blackmailed, Amand got the security team involved and thought Daniel could be behind it. After investigating Daniel, it became clear he was innocent. When Daniel traveled around the countryside taking pictures and writing about Calonia, he was threatened and Amand ordered a security team to protect him. Amand is attracted to Daniel and soon he wants to spend time with him and get to know him. Daniel brings out a playful side to Amand that everyone is happy to see. Amand still is investigating the threats that he thinks could be related to a trade deal he is working on. Amand and Daniel get closer and soon Amand thinks if he announces Daniel is now his fiancee, he will be safer. Daniel is not very happy about the announcement and is upset it was done before he was asked how he felt about it.Daniel doesn't want to be in a fake relationship and Amand knows he was wrong, so he vows to make it right. Meanwhile the dangers get closer and the threats more brave. I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Daniel brought happiness back to Amand and inspired him to play music again. I think they were good together and i think they really loved each other. Good one.

This is a tender story of the relationship that develops between two very different men. After a few years, Daniel’s best friend from school, Ricard, invites him to travel the globe and then visit his home of Calonia. Daniel is overjoyed as he is a travel photographer and blogger and has long lost relatives from Ricard’s homeland. While Daniel is visiting, he learns that Ricard is a Prince of the country and some other secrets that precipitate him being around Ricard’s older brother Amand. Prince Amand comes off as haughty with a superior attitude but that does not stop Daniel’s attraction for him. However, the more time they spend together, they each realize that there is more to the other than meets the eye and they actually have many things in common. Yet there is a threat to the country that must be dealt with and a traitor within. Will the royal family and the royal guard be able to diffuse the situation and thwart those who would bring harm? Will Daniel get caught in the crossfire? This is one well written storyline filled with passion, steamy scenes, and adventure.

I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review.
When Daniel, a wandering photographer and travel book writer takes a journey with his old college roommate, he finds out there is more to his family that he thought. When they arrive in his hometown, he's addressed as a Prince and Daniel finds himself a guest at the Royal Palace. When his friends brother, Armand sees Daniel, he's obviously not impressed with the American but as family secrets start to rise to the surface, he finds that they have more in common that he thought, and he can't seem to let go.
I enjoyed the storyline here, even though it seemed far reaching. I can't imagine an American guy wouldn't have been vetted prior to arriving at the Royal Palace and Ricard seems to have kept quite a few secrets for being someone in such power. I enjoyed the similarities between Armand and Daniel, and the deep emotional bond, but I just couldn't get into the relationship. It just seemed thrown together.
I loved Armand. I thought he was a brilliant juxtaposition of a ruler with power, yet someone who could dress down and enjoy a family barbecue or dance in a low key restaurant. -
Daniel has been on a road trip with his best friend from college, Ricard. Going to Calonia, his home town, Daniel is overwhelmed with the scenery. Being a photographer and travel book author, he feels that's a good thing. As soon as the land strange things start to happen and Daniel winds up in a castle with Prince Ricard knowing nothing that is going on. Prince Amand is not being helpful either. The middle brother of three princes, he is charge of finances and tries to control his brother Ricard too. Daniel is lost and in the dark about what is going in especially when his friend Ricard starts acting strange and not like himself at all. Daniel is not only in the dark, but becomes the target for some very dangerous men and before he knows it, he is in grave danger. Amand changes his tune and becomes friendly with Daniel and before he knows it he is not only in love, but getting engaged....but why? What is going on? You will have to read the book to find out. Excellent story and would recommend it to anyone. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Travel photographer/journalist, Daniel is traveling to a foreign country with his friend from university when he finds the guy he thought he knew was in reality, a prince. A prince with a hot but stuffy brother that ticks all of Daniels buttons. And Armand finds the American man fascinating. As the two men get to know each other and their attraction grows, danger lurks in the shadows waiting to pounce.
I love this story. A fairytale love story with strong, sexy and sweet characters that you can fall in love with.

Wow! Just wow. Another brilliant book by two of my favorite authors, Peter Styles and J.P. Oliver they sure know how to grab your attention and not let it go. Bloody brilliant. Wow. Daniel is a massive sweetheart with the biggest heart and the most amazing way pf seeing everything and Amand has so much hidden inside. You can see how brilliantly amazing they will be together it is insane, but will they is the question possed.
Grab grab (goes saying it twice) this now, you will adore these two characters and you will be thoroughly enthralled with it.

The Prince's Passion: 2 Stars
Well... that wasn't that good.
I really liked the start of it but the plot turned out mediocre and I quite frankly didn't give a fuck about it at the end and the romance... started of promising... only to be unrealistic and had me rolling my eyes again and again and eugh...
Basically: sadly this book just wasn't what I wanted it to be. It had a lot of tropes and aspects I usually love done in a way I didn't like them (even though it sounded SOOO good and like I would enjoy it. Sadly I didn't... or rather I only enjoyed the first half of the book) -
The construction of this story seemed uneven to me. The overall storyline holds the water more or less but the dialogues were very poor and disappointing. The conversations were hollow and aimless whilst the scenes sounded, most of the time, as fillers. The twists - or what the author considered twists - weren't strong enough to keep me interested, especially with the unsettled personality of Amand that didn't convince me.
2 ** stars. Can do much better. -
The narrator was great in executing the main characters voices and emotions. It was a nice little fairy tale, my only gripe would be that I didn’t really feel the evolution of the MC’s relationship. It was like one day they don’t like each other, the next they’re engaged. It says fake engagement book, but it was never really fake for any part of the story.
I was given this credit in exchange for an honest review. -
Love and International Intrigue
This book was phenomenal! I literally could not put it down, wanting desperately to know what happened next to Daniel and Amand. Truly a modern gay fairy tale romance with pathos and drama in all the right places! Is there a sequel in sight? Keep up the great work, Guys! -
I did like the story, It was a very emotional book at times. I think Rickard was an spoiled brat at times and the way he treated Daniel and his family at times. The love story bettween Daniel and Amand is sweet and I felt it was a bit rushed at times. Quite exiting story that captivated my attention.

The chemistry between Amand and Daniel was volitale at first. Amand did not like Daniel. Over time he learned to love him. There is a lot of drama caused by politics. Overall a great story.
