Arbery is now acclaimed for being a Pulitzer Prize finalist, but this early effort, which apparently has only had a SINGLE performance to date, is just ... odd. Kudos for writing a play specifically for an actor with a disability (and stating that it can be altered to accommodate whatever disability the actor playing the protagonist actually has!) ... but I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Especially the last quarter, in which the actors have all exited ... and the set pieces - chair, table, fan, fridge - talk to each other (no, I am NOT making that up!). Would be interesting to see if it 'works' in performance.

Well, this is a thing. I love that it is hard to stage, that it's incredibly awkward, that it has sex, sort of, and that the last scene is entirely household objects talking to each other. I also don't want to watch it.

I would love to be able to see this staged!
