The Lost Ones: Western Historical Fiction (The Bounty Hunter Book 2) Reviews

Our girl Abigail, from the first book, has followed through on her desire to become a bounty hunter. She’s picked up a partner she can trust, and they have been slowly making a name for themselves. She calls herself Abby Sure Shot these days. Abby has also done some growing up, being more confident, and a bit meaner. This girl doesn’t take any crap from anybody, and she’s pretty quick with that six-gun. Abby, her partner, and a couple of Pinkerton agents have been hired by a wealthy railroad baron to find his two young kidnapped daughters. What they find is more troubling and more involved than they expected. Great characters, plenty of action, and the narration by Alan Carlson were excellent. The Lost Ones
    : G. Michael Hopf

This is a historical piece set in 1861, in the mid-west. When a set of 14 year old twins are kidnapped, most people think it's because of their rich father. It maybe something bigger. Abbie Sure Shot, a bounty hunter, her partner, and the Pinkerton Detectives are hired to get the girls back. There is plenty of action and drama throughout. I enjoyed it very much.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Alan Carlson's voice is perfect for this genre.

"The Lost Ones: The Bounty Hunter, Book 2" (2018, 2019) by G. Michael Hopf is a roaring western featuring the exploits of female bounty hunter Abby. She’s hired along with her partner, Dwight, and a pair of Pinkerton detectives to find the kidnapped fourteen-year-old twin daughters of a wealthy couple. The novel has plenty of action, with the guilty and innocent killed. Alan Carlson’s narration is well done. I wanted to give it five stars but I hate it when the author switches character perspective mid-scene. Still, highly recommended. Abby Sure Shot

Call me naive, but it never occurred to me that they did trafficking of young girls in the late 1800's. Reading this book was a wake-up call. There are just some mean, nasty people out there.

A mean Abby is an efficient Abby. I loved her in this story. A little older, a lot wiser, she has acquired a hard edge to her personality. I definitely would want her on my side.

Enjoyed the book immensely. Five PLUS stars!

Well first of all I didn’t realize this book was a sequel but that didn’t seem to matter much. It was a fast, easy read- perfect for travel and the airplane. It had TONS of exposition, like at times I felt like the author must have thought the reader to be dumb it was so much. Good story but could have been told with a lot more detail and made more interesting overall. Probably won’t pick up the 3rd book in the series.

    Very good.

Abigail is tough and able bounty hunter. She tackled a trafficking ring of evil men stealing young girls and putting into prostitution. Their clients include the governor and other sick individuals. She loses her partner in the plrocess but finds herself.

    Intense and satisfying

Well-laid backgrounds lead to the path crossing of well-defined and well-defined characters. The plotting has just enough mystery to keep the pages turning.
As long as we don't run into any more "chapters-as-books", I think I have become a firm fan.

Continuation of the Bounty Hunter series. Abby Sure Shot now with a partner. (Dwight) takes a job to find two kidnapped girls, which leads to a child abduction ring.
