Solid three and a half. I think I enjoyed more than the first book.

I couldn’t put this book down. Kevin Kwan paints such a great world and his characters are so rich in details and humanity. I understand why this is such a popular book and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a fun, enjoyable book.

This was a "beach read" for me (not at an actual beach... though partly read at a water park). Fun and fast, filled with preposterous characters. The writing is not amazing or literary, the characters are all over the top, and the plot is a roller coaster - but I devoured the trilogy just the same. The perfect beach read.

This trilogy has put me on such a journey. I couldn’t put the book down and I wanted to see what would happen. I love the culture described throughout the book and this is an awesome piece to sit and discuss in a bookclub.

I was a huge fan of the film, and even cried during the wedding scene. I've seen the movie three times now, and as a British-born Chinese, I felt such a strong connection to most of the characters. The main aspect of the books that I enjoyed were the cultural and linguistic descriptions. What an amazing writer, to be able to capture readers into such a vivid world! I rated the book down a little, because I couldn't quite build a stronger emotional connection with some of the characters. Although, growing up in an International school in Asia, I could picture them - I just didn't find them all too interesting. Probably because to me, it was too reminiscent of my high school days. I found myself skimming through the book just so I could read Astrid's chapters. Now, that's a character I ADORED.

The writer, Kevin Kwan presents the lives of Asian JetSets inspired by true stories. Rich people whose wealth does not run out of seven generations, have private jets, travel abroad, study at favorite universities in America and England. They even have a have a private island in Indonesia.
In my opinion, the novel has too many descriptions, sometimes I get sleepy. Characters and conflicts are less exciting, just flat. The part that really kicks, makes me emotional is the part on the last few pages. Why wasn't it like that from the start, like I felt that the previous part and the ending were different writers. -
Delightfully entertaining!

Good link from book one. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. 👍

My reading year is off to a great start with this hysterically funny and culturally enlightening sequel! What else can I say...
-
Entertaining, but definitely a lot of unnecessary drama.
-
I watched the movie and it led me to Kevin Kwan's beautiful, delicious way of writing. I loved the books, and couldn't stop reading.
-
A sweet follow-up to the Crazy Rich Asians filled with exciting dialogues and scenes, and character reveals.
-
Fun book to read during a short vacation.
