Tormented (His For A Week, #3) Reviews

  • PointedlyBlunt

Tormented continues Kimani and Ben’s story and picks up where Ravaged left off. Ben is still with Kimani in San Francisco while the other women purchased through in the Scarlet Auction are still at Jake’s cabin elsewhere.

Not a lot happened in the story, but there are several sex/BDSM scenes. Several times I wanted Kimani to either be honest with Ben about what her end goal was or simply walk away – especially when he chose to punish her without the option of safe wording. I get that they don’t trust each other, but they could’ve communicated better without giving too much away and prevented some of their discord.

There is a revelation at the end and I was hoping for some kind of confrontation, but instead it jumps an undisclosed amount of time into the future and the reader doesn’t get to really see the outcome, just the setup for the next book which I really hope is the end, because it’s beginning to drag out.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tormented continues where the second book ends, it focuses more on the Ben and Kimani "undefined" relationship. The dom persona of Ben evidently out to play in this book. You may hate or love him the way he gives pain or pleasure to Kimani. One thing I like Ben is that he always gave Kimani choices. Ben really knows the in and out's of the BDSM world, just be ready to get enthralled how hot and sexy this book is.

As the plot thickens, secrets are bound to be discovered. What will happen now, if Ben knew why Kimani joined the Scarlet Auction? Or will Kimani have the courage to tell Ben in the first place?

E.M. Brown continuous to amaze me how good she writes these series, which kept me wanting more of Ben and Kimani when I finished it. I can't wait to read Devasted and see what happens next to this captivating series.

DNF. Even the author doesn't know when this story will end.

This book is the third in a series and you need to read them in order to know what's going on. Kimani has gone undercover for a story about a company that auctions women for sex. The women consent, but they're not allowed time to read the fine print and they don't screen the men well. The women pay an administrative fee and they only get it back, plus the money from the auction, if they complete the entire week of BDSM with the man who buys them.

Kimani was bought by Jake, a jerk who doesn't know proper procedures to prevent injuries and who has a mean streak. She is "rescued" by Ben when Ben sees Jake mistreating her. Ben is an experienced Dom and thinks that Kimani is into BDSM based on a form she filled out for the auction. In reality, she knows very little about it but is desperate to write the story to get a job at the newspaper. She's attracted to Ben and confused by he feelings he arouses in her.

In the previous books, I had trouble at times figuring out why she stayed in the situation. This book does a better job of showing her motivation to get the story and prevent women from being injured. She is drawn to Ben and he is drawn to her. He's really pushing her limits because he doesn't realize this is all new to her. Their relationship continues to develop and is very hot. Ben is a Dom who is serious about BDSM and Kimani is hanging on by her fingertips just trying to fool him and figure out her strong reactions to him.

In this book, the issues with Jake are resolved but Kimani and Ben's relationship isn't wrapped up at the end. It's another cliffhanger leaving me hoping for more and waiting for the next installment which can't come soon enough. The book has explicit sex and BDSM scenes which might leave you fanning yourself. Don't get it if that offends you. Kimani and Ben's relationship is about much more than that, they just need to figure that out.

I received an ARC for an unbiased review.

Third book in the series and best one so far. We pick up where we left off with Ben and Kimani and he's definitely moving in on her secret that she is a journalist doing an investigative story on this auction. However, feelings between Kimani and Ben are conflicted, each of them exhibiting confusion as to what is actually going on between them isn't just about sex and BDSM, but they remain in a sort of denial of this actually being something else. Either way, we get lots of hot scenes between the two of them and the whole time, I'm like, just tell him the truth, Kimani! Geez! She makes me nuts. She's like a brat just to be a brat, which I guess pairs well with Ben's urge to want to dominate her, but he is not sadistic necessarily in his play with her. There's more behind all of that and the author does a great job in making this clear. Looking forward to Book 4 : Devastated to see if Kimani and Ben finally realize their true feelings for each other and enter into an actual relationship. At this point, we're still in the week he's bought off that jerk for $200K. It's been like 4 days but I feel like it's been 4 months cuz we're already 3 books in, but I digress. I'll read the next installment as it seems the series is getting more intriguing.

I gave this book a 5 star rating. The writing style and how Em made us part of the story was great.
I would be hard-pressed to find any errors, but I was so engrossed in the story, I did not even try to look. There were no breaks in the action between books and it flowed beautifully. A perfect 5!

I will remember these books for the way Kimani and Ben danced around each other. Kimani desperately trying to keep from letting Ben know that she was trying to get dirt on the Scarlet Auction and its foul practices. She's beginning to see that not all the members are sadistic jerks. Jake may be one, but Jason and Ben definitely are not jerks, even though they are all DOMs. She's dying to tell Ben the truth, but she can't if she wants to sell this story. Perhaps, it is already too late as she is personally involved with Ben.

I am looking forward to Devastated. With a title like that , I expect for things to really fall apart between Ben an Kimani. I purchased this book AND received a copy from the author. I read the book because I needed to. I reviewed it, because I wanted to do that for the author. I love Em Brown's sexy stories!

"Tormented" is book 3 in this series and with each book this series is getting hotter. Ben is fully aware that Kimani is not truthful with him and is determined to find out what her involvement is with the auction and her motive of her investigation. He feels betrayed by her actions but can't let her go either.
Once again EM Brown delivers another page turner. I appreciate the knowledge of BDSM and its practices. The author has clearly done a lot of research. This book is sizzling and will leave you wanting more.

I’m biased, I admit it. I love EM Brown’s work. The BDSM knowledge she has is worked through all of her books so there’s no confusion as to what is and isn’t a healthy BDSM relationship (unlike some other books on the lifestyle).

This one really caught me though. The characters were exceedingly well developed, even the minor characters like Uncle Gordon, Jake, & Claire. I’m really glad she’s continued this series with another three books.

    Disappointing

This should of been one dang book. The fact its being drawn out into a fourth is ridiculous. I'm sorry I am not trying to be mean here. I didn't want to finish these books but I also wanted to know what happened. BDSM is not everything this author is making it out to be. Taking away someone's safe word? Seriously?! Using words that don't fit in with the writing also. I'm mad at myself for believing the reviews and buying all the dang books. Waste of $12.

When I say things are getting intense, holy wow do I mean it!! Ben has turned it up a few notches, and try as she might, Kimani just keeps falling under his spell. But what will happen when the truth comes out?? Each book is more intense than the last, and I truly can’t wait to find out what happens next!

His For a Week: Tormented, Book Three by E. M. Brown. I’m still enjoying the characters in this the third book of the series. The storyline is also very good. Ben and Kimani have really turned up the heat in this book! It’s still a series with cliffhangers, but I didn’t mind so much how this one ended. I really can’t wait to read the next book . It sounds like it will be exciting!

  • Keema Osborne

Amazing, I love how Kimani and Benjamin relationship is developing. It’s a push and pull , but their chemistry are off the hook. I have to admit that Sam seems to be a little shady when it comes to Benjamin and his connection to His U. Gordon. But I must say I’m curious as to how Jake is treating Claire . Most of all I’m glad that Jake finally got what he was asking for..priceless

  • Josefina Rivera

    Shear torture and pleasure

Loved the dynamics between Ben and Kimani. Some parts were hard to take because I felt like Kimani should have told Ben to stop yet that is the dynamics of BSDM. Cannot wait for the next installment.

  • SuzyHD

    Loved It

This complicated BDSM will demand your attention. The adventurous sexual connection between Kimani and Ben will keep you emotionally involved til the end. A story this well written should not be overlooked. I was looking for closure, hopefully in the next book.

  • Ritu

    Wowza!

EM Brown is the best author ever. Exploring issues of racism and interracial relationships is imperative. Ben and Kimani clearly have feelings for one another, but are not willing to admit it!

  • Michele Packard-milam

    Interesting Premise

I found this erotic novel to be well-written, well-edited and intriguing. The characters, particularly the two main characters, have depth, passion and the ability to come to life in your mind.

  • Anita

    Good read

Good read, bit dark in places, not my kind of thing, but the chemistry is good, I like Ben hated Jake and I do hope he gets what's coming through to him. Claire really should press charges.

  • Ellat

Can't wait to read book 4.

Kimani irritates me but I still want to see how everything circles around. Can she undo the mess she created? She and Ben had the beginnings of something good.
