  I'm really enjoying these Rules of Love books! I've already read book #3 as well. I couldn't help myself. They are just so much fun. Yes, they're YA and I'm a grown woman. But I just can't help reading these fun, lighthearted and very sweet stories about young love and teens figuring out life and how to navigate through the craziness of those years.
  
  If you're a YA lover, I highly recommend this series. They can be read in any order and bring hours of enjoyment! ;-)
  
  Do you remember your first crush? What about your first "sworn enemy?" I definitely remember several of my first crushes. Ha! Young love at preschool and on the elementary school ground. *.*
  I don't think I really had a sworn enemy though, a couple girls that I didn't quite mesh with but more so on their part than mine. But I think that's the same with everyone in life, trying to navigate friendships, relationships, struggles, school, work, everything.
  
  Penny thinks she's doing pretty well and life is going swimmingly. Until the moment when it all changes. How did her life get so messed up and complicated. Definitely the moment when Cade came into it. Well, maybe not the moment back in Junior High with his comment and teasing, but the moment in high school where she's asked to help him with his school work. Yep, definitely then. Now she's running moment to moment trying to figure out her feelings, her life and friendships.
  
  The author knows how to write some cute YA scenes and mix in plenty of angst and drama. It can't be YA without all of the angst and drama right? I love it! Penny and Cade were fun characters to watch them realize that what they thought wasn't quite what was real. I loved the flirty banter and sweet/tender moments. Not sweet and tender necessarily in a romantic sense but in a friend being there for another friend in a moment of need.
  
  Grab a copy, or one of each of the three books in the series and have fun! My teenage daughters and preteen have been listening to these with me or reading them and have enjoyed them as well.
  
  Content: Clean. Some kissing, the couple fall asleep together after a late night talking, nothing sexual happens. There is talk about divorce, jail and broken families, and how the characters navigate those different circumstances. I thought it was written in a great way but if those are sensitive topics for you, now you know that this books discusses them.
  
  I received an audiobook from the author but have also purchased an ebook copy. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

  Enemies to lovers. Sometimes our enemies are simply misunderstood and that may be the case with Cade. He doesn't take anything seriously and when he needs help getting back on the right path, serious Penny enters the picture.
  
  Yes, the relationship moved fast, but that's the way with first love, young love, especially when everything is dramatic. They each need someone to count on, and who better than the one you're attracted to? It's so tough at this age to figure out who you are and who you are meant to become.
  
  I loved how each of them had something to offer the other that really brought balance to their lives. It's so easy to look at someone and think you know why they do what they do, but until you dig deeper than that superficial mask that everyone puts on, you have no idea what motivates them. It was enjoyable to discover their stories.
  
  This story had a slightly edgy feel, meaning that there was a rebellious vibe in some spots, but that only served to make the book more viable and the characters became more life-like to me.
  
  The series is delivering some favorite tropes so far and I hope to discover more of my favorites in the future.

  I think Ms. Meyer has found her niche with this genre. I have really enjoyed this new venture she has taken as the style really suits her. I really liked this book and recommend it. I look forward to the next one in the series. Job well done!

  I listened to the audiobook of this. This YA series for new to me and the author is still fairly new to me also.
  
  Penny is smart, athletic and seems to have it all together until the principal asks her to help Cade get his act together. She only does it because it will look good on her application for college. It seems as if once Penny starts helping Cade (her sworn enemy since an incident in junior high) her life starts to fall apart. She blames him, but it's not his fault, just a coincedence and when she reaches are breaking point Cade's the only one she feels she can turn to.
  
  This is a cute enemies to something-more-than-friends story. It has all the angst and problems of the teen years we all remember, but it also shows you can't judge a book by its cover. This is the second book in a new series.
  
  I received an audiobook from the author and voluntarily chose to leave a review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

  Penny was a whiney selfish character. Oh, and she is stupid too. I mean if you have a best friend whose parents went through divorce, why would you not talk to her instead of blabbering to the bad girl who obviously has it in for you? According to me Cade was too good for her. Considering how long Penny has hated Cade, she goes from hate to love in an incredibly short time.

There were some times that I just couldn't agree with what Penny was thinking but she was still a very likeable character. I loved Cade!

Then Her reason to call him here enemy was a dumb one from the start. In first chapter she hated him and after 4 chapters she was head over heels for him. And she literally spent first half of the book saying : 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞? 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐢 𝐮𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐦? 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞?

  It’s actually more of a 3.5/5. Penny was a bit(and by that I mean a lot) annoying and insufferable especially during one particular scene. The story however was a good enemies to lovers story that was pretty cute.

  I was thinking of giving it a 2 stars somewhere in the middle. But really it's not worth it
  (HOW COME EVERYBODY GAVE IT A 4/5 STARS?!)
  
  The 1st book, well, I was disappointed in it. And then I tried to read this one.
  
  Honestly, if I imagined this one to be somewhat like a fanfic or a headcanon, or something that's written for fun, not publishing-things, then okay, I'd have given it the cute-romance (only the cute parts) 3/4 stars.
  
  But, it didn't work here. NOPE.
  
  ◼ The book is way too much fast-paced. I mean it. The story started, and things kept happening, and then it ended. Which I tried to ignore for the first 60 pages or so, but then how long should I stay patient??
  
  ◼ The MC apologizes every few seconds. At first I wasn't really going to count it against her, because I myself apologize (Me be like : "Sorry for saying sorry?"😶) for things. But here's the thing, when you're saying sorry, say for things that actually matters. She just said something to her bsf (it wasn't even a snap, and what if it was a snap? She's ur bsf, for god's sake) and she thought she'd to apologize. But really so much inanity??
  Like, okay I liked it she wants to behave nicely, doesn't wanna act rude, but not everywhere do you go saying sorry. RIGHT? 😤
  
  ◼ The MC tries to please everybody, which was okay again, but afterwards it started seeming foolish. really.
  
  ◼ Both of them as per the book were meant to be sworn enemy, right? But there wasn't that much of or any kind of enmity here, maybe they behaved as enemies (Sworn, HAHA-_-) for like the first few chapters (and that too for a stupid thing), then the author's usual trope of tutoring came in, and then they were in love. Duh!
  
  ◼ The tutoring thing though, atleast I wish she'd write a few sessions, if nothing then just to stick to the story. But no, they just did one tutoring session, and then they were friends and then in love.
  
  ◼ The writing was not good. I don't even wanna count how many times Penny rolls her eyes. Its like there in mostly every passage. Which bugged me. And she keeps throwing questions, ik that sounds weird here. But every single thing that she does, or anything that crosses her mind, she questions herself a thousand times for that. And those questions are also typed precisely in the book. I was irritated.
  
  ◼ The ending incidents, the way Penny forgave everyone, and the author very hurriedly tried to put everything together for the great HEA, sorry but didn't work for me.
  Her parents' divorce seemed completely random to me, and when they separated and Penny saw her father leaving them for a rich woman, it was normal for her to react. But then at the end she suddenly acted all saint like, and let it go, NO! Atleast the author should have given the time to heal. GAH!
  
  ◼ As I said before, if you have enough patience and all, and can ignore all the above issues I had, this book can be nice. It has some cute and fluffy scenes, so yah.

  Este libro fue mucho mejor que el primero. Los personajes son en su estado clichés pero su relación y la química entre ellos es más creíble que los personajes principales del primer libro. Me gusto pero siento que le faltaron cosas.
  
  Todos los libros de “The Rules of Love”, fueron echaos para ser cortos y entiendo, pero me quede con dudas en cuanto a la historia de ciertos personajes. Quería una confirmación acerca de la época en que se molestaban en secundaria, si es que siempre gusto de ella, la razón del porque le puso un apodo. La relación con la mamá, el porque no agradaba de Penny. Y LAS CALIFICACIONES.
  
  Siento que la mayoría de los libros van a ir en torno a la chica enseñándole a tener buenas notas al interés amoroso y al final ni dan señales de si le está yendo bien o simplemente dejan de estudiar.
  
  Pero aún así, me parece que este libro tiene un lapso de tiempo más creíble que el primero, Cade y Penny si establecen una relación que podría permitir que se digan “Te amo”, me pareció aún así apresurado pero me agrado x si quedo muy de acuerdo a donde se dirigían en la relación. Le faltaron cosas, pero es una bonita historia, no tan sweet como la primera pero aún así me emocionaron fierros diálogos entre ellos.

  This books was torture for me since I want a Cade in my life 🤠 ugh when they first kissed that shit had me on my knees, praying and once again asking god when is it going to be my turn.
  
  Pen was really sweet but she could be annoying as fuck, but pain is understandable tho so it was easy to understand where she came from when she acted out. Cade was a sweetheart tho, the way this man has been in love with pen since junior high was too cute for me to handle 😔👎🏽 and the wishing well????? Crying screaming throwing up
  
  And this whole series has literally all the tropes in the world. Sign me up bitch, you’ll se me here every day.

  This is a sweet teenage romance. Penny hates Kade. He has been her enemy since middle school. Now she has been asked by the principle to help tutor Kade. Kade has made some poor choices that has landed him in trouble. A judge is telling him he needs to hang with a different crowd and bring up his grades. But truth is he likes Penny. He doesn’t mind her being his tutor. But Penny is going to have to see a different side of him. And Penny has her own trouble brewing at home.

  I thought it was nowhere as well written as Rule #1. The author seemed to be in a hurry to get them together. The main character was very wishy-washy. I also thought there were some loose ends not tied up, like why did his mother appear to dislike her so much? Hopefully Rule #3 is better.

  I love a good enemies to lovers trope and this YA was a great book. I LOVE Cade and his winking and teasing. Ugh so giddy and happy! Definitely going into book three!!!

  OK so where to start, It was an OK book for me. My main problem was female protagonist. She was just plain annoying at some points. She didn't make any sense and kept on making dumb decisions that got her into trouble. She also liked to believe that she was really nice in reality and was mean in only certain situations, when actually her personality proved otherwise. We did get kind of 'character development' so that was a positive thing. Male love interest was good, I would have been more happy to read the book from his perspective. And the ending? It was kind of cringy and way far from reality. Now why am I giving this three stars if I have this many complains? Because
  1) I knew going into this that it wasn't going to be the most amazing thing I've ever read.
  2) It did keep me engaged and that's what I was actually looking for.
  So giving it less than three stars makes me feel guilty as I kind of knew what I was getting myself into.

  I am enjoying this author's young adult books. Penny had some growing up to do in this book. I felt like Cade was light years ahead of her emotional except for his choice in friends. I think this book is more about Penny dealing with her family struggles and growing up in the process. I never felt like Cade was Penny's enemy. This book also shows that sometimes when a person is stuck looking at something one way they miss what could be the best thing for them.

  It was cuter than "just ok" but there were definitely things that kept me from rating it higher. So here goes...
  
  It was a whirlwind. Which, I get it - teen romance. Things are always intense and True Love and all. But seriously, she goes from outright hating him, to loving him, to despairing we-can't-ever-be-together in what... a weekend?
  
  The "worst enemy" thing wasn't ever really worked on, despite the title. It was more about Penny growing up and dealing with her own family situation than an enemies-to-lovers romance. Cade was just there to be super sweet and help her try to be functional.
  
  Speaking of her family situation, I know divorce is hard for all involved and every family handles it differently, but Penny's parents seemed especially clueless and self-absorbed (Penny's father wanted her to immediately accept the new partner? No gradual introduction, no counseling, nothing - even after Penny tells him that she saw them together? No wonder Penny snapped.)
  
  Why did Cade's mother not trust Penny? That seemed odd and never fully developed.
  
  So yeah, what could have been a really cute little story with one of my favorite tropes (enemies-to-lovers stories always seem to have the best banter!) turned out to be cute, but also a bit forgettable. So, 2.5 stars, rounded up.
